Before entering the legal field, I worked in the construction industry as a carpenter for nineteen years, working my way through college and law school. Having been on many jobsites over the years, I understand the difficulties that hard working people face everyday.

While in law school, I was a student attorney for the Tenth Judicial District Public Defender in Anoka and Sherburne Counties. I made many court appearances, representing clients at arraignments, pre-​trial, jury trial, probation violations, and sentencing. I was also a law clerk for a private attorney, and a judge in Hennepin County.
