Our son was delivered here he is fantastic and great doctors were good some nurses seemed to contradict one another we were c — section 4 out of 10 at 1050 pm seemed short staffed /​over booked

I’m a chemo patient and this is the closest hospital to my home for emergencies. It should never take a half an hour or more for your nurse to check in to your room too see you. This place sucks if you really need immediate medical attention don’t rely on this hospital.

The first time I had went to Mercy Hospital ER. I had pneumonia, chest pain and I could not breathe. I was told by the nurse staff at the front desk it’d be a 3 hour wait but I was welcomed to sit down and wait. I refused to wait that long to get medical attention when I could barely breathe and I have asthma on top of that, so I decided to go to another hospital where I was actually treated the moment I walked through the front door (maple grove hospital) the second time I was sent to Mercy Hospital, I had been having seizures during the day, my doctor told me to go to the ER. I got right in but the nurse I had was HORRIBLE! When you push the call light it should not take 45 minutes to get them to come in to your room to help you! By that time a person could be dead! Well long story short, they could not figure out what was wrong with me, sent me home with no medication and told me to contact someone else. Complete waste of my time and money. Their service is horrible and their medical team has no idea what their doing! I wouldn’t even trust them to treat my dog!

The new mother baby center is amazing. Everything is nice and new and the staff are exceptional! Love that they merged with children’s hospital that was brilliant to bring two together in one place.

We had to have our baby here due to emergency and as far as the baby goes they were wonderful! Words cannot express my happiness that our daughter was taken care of so well. Now when it comes to my wife and her care it was not very warming or caring. Nurses and doctors were unsensitive to my wifes needs during what is supposed to be one of her happiest moments.

If you break your finger or deliver a baby this hospital is great, however anything more complex don’t waste your time or worse yet your life… level of care and concern just isn’t there. Pretty sad care team on ICU! I won’t get deep into many details but how many ppl actually die from having an MRI… pretty much an all around pathetic devastating experience…

The round the clock care for our baby’s birth was top notch. The temp control in the room was a little off and the cafeteria food was decent but the staff were spectacular from the doctors to the food service crew. The experience gave me a new appreciation for those in the medical field. We would definitely have our next baby here.

I equate their cafeteria food to a school lunch. It tastes like cardboard. I don’t know what they’re making the fries out of, but it didn’t seem like potatoes. My fried fish was overly fried to the point of being burnt. Next time I’ll take a trip to some other eatery if I have to go there again.

I was in the ICU with diabetic kidoacidosis for 4 days and I had a pretty decent experience as far as how enjoyable a hospital stay can be.
When I got to the emergency room triage I knew what to tell them (I used to volunteer there. Chest pains, DKA, and asthma take priority). I didn’t have to wait another minute after I was done explaining my condition.
A nurse took me back to an exam room and took a set of vitals. I was seen by a doctor no longer than ten minutes after that. I was hooked to an IV about a half hour after I arrived. The care I had in the emergency room was efficient. They answered all of my questions and the doctor I had was good.
I was moved up to the ICU (what a busy floor!) My nurses were extremely nice. I was checked on the hour every hour. I was fortunate enough to have the same night nurses for my stay and I got to know them pretty well. Made for a more personable experience and they did everything they could to make you feel like you weren’t on the most serious floor of the hospital.
The only complaint I have was the doctor I was assigned to in the ICU. He was subbing for the one I was supposed to have and he was very passive. I only saw him twice in the 4 days I was there and both times I saw them I felt like he was in a giant hurry and didn’t have time to do what he was supposed to do. He was one of those doctors who was inching toward the door as he asked «do you have any questions?»
And then the bill came. :(Oof.

I went to Mercy ER yesterday for a broken toe, and was really disappointed with the level of care I received. I’ve worked in the health care field for close to 10 years, so I knew my toe was broken and told them so when I checked in.
I was not offered a wheelchair at any point, but rather had to hobble from waiting rooms to treatment rooms and back again several times. I never got to see my X-​rays, and was instead just told it was indeed broken.
Not once was I told that I needed to ice it, elevate it, and rest it as part of my follow-​up care — though thankfully I already knew to do this from my previous work in health care. I was told I should buddy tape my toe, and was quite surprised that they did not do it for me.
And much to my surprise, I was not offered a note excusing me from work even though I explained to several people I interacted with that I work as a dog-​walker and walk five to six hours each day. I was given a note excusing me for two days only after I requested it.
Lastly, the doctor who signed off on my paperwork only saw me for about two minutes in the waiting room to hear why I was there. She was very dismissive of her scribe when I went to shake his hand saying, «Oh, he’s just a scribe.»
All in all, I was quite disappointed with my visit. The only positive thing was that I was in and out in 35 minutes. I was left with the impression that they cared more about getting patients in and out rather than taking the time to deliver an exceptional level of care.

Had to visit ER today for a sinus infection. I know that it is a small thing to go to ER for, but I do not have PCM and I was in a lot of pain. Despite how minor my «emergency» was… The staff did not punish me by making me last priority. In fact, they had me in and out super fast. Just as I would settle in one spot, my name was called, and on to the next. Thank you Doctor Eric Haug, and staff. You did a wonderful job, and I am starting to feel better all ready!

This tightness in my chest… the wheezing… the pain I feel with every intake of breath. It must be my childhood asthma that I am having an issue with, even though I have been smoking for the last 10 years of my life, it just NOW has decided to become a serious issue, and my asthma has become a painful reminder that it might be time to quit, and might be time to start exercising more.
I digress, I rushed myself to the Emergency Room at 11pm and when I walked in the woman behind the counter asked (kindly) what she could do for me. A total of 5 minutes later they had me in an emergency room (I didn’t know at the time but Asthma is a priority which is nice) and hooked up to a Nebulizer followed by a ventilator. After about two hours of monitoring and them asking me about my insurance etc, I was finally released to go home.
It was a very stressful night that night… but the wonderful staff at Mercy made me feel good even in my very uncomfortable state. They also didn’t leave me to suffocate in the waiting area. I have extended a great many thanks to them, but this was top notch!
