We decided to come to this Osaka for my dad’s birthday, and we’re very happy that we did. They go out of their way to make birthdays a little more special by playing a birthday song and drums, as well as a birthday mask and cake at the end. They also take your picture to add onto their birthday collage which you will see when you first walk in. The whole sha-bang is extremely cute. The food was awesome; everything was nicely portioned. Shrimp sauce, ginger sauce, noodles, shrimp, veggies, rice… the whole usual hibachi ordeal. I thought their shrimp and chicken was the best out of the 4 combos we ordered. Regardless, you won’t leave hungry. My only complaint would be their onion soup included in the meal– it was a bit bland to me, but not terrible. Overall, I highly recommend their hibachi. We had a great time; their hibachi chef was entertaining, food was delicious, and overall service was on point.

My son was acting up so after we ordered our drink me and his dad decided to leave and we tried to cancel our drinks but they made us pay for them and the girl was complaining because I didn’t give her more then $ 2 tip for the 2 drinks she served me! Why wouldn’t they just want me to leave if my son is running around the restaurant bothering other customers? And why would u expect more when I didn’t even want the drinks I just needed to leave! And I don’t know how to change the stars on the top I would give them less then one!

I just wasn’t that impressed… We pull up to a dingy strip mall and walk into an outdated entry with a broken down empty koi pond and with walls plastered in tacky Polaroids of past birthday guests. The hibachi dining room, however, was gorgeous! It was sleek and modern and honestly, quite a surprise. Our chef was extremely skillful, performing numerous tricks and giving everyone a healthy share of sake shots! He really was a fun demonstrator. That being said, we were unimpressed by the food. I had been to an Osaka once before(in Burnsville) and the thing I remember most from that trip was how friggin’ unbelievable the shrimp was. So I ordered shrimp. It was not friggin’ unbelievable. It was rubbery and bland — it tasted like it had been in a freezer for years. We also tried the filet mignon and the chicken. The filet was fine, albeit pretty well suffocated with garlic. The chicken, also just fine. The only thing I would really say was good were the noodles. We probably won’t return.

This was my 2nd time eating here. There was a deal on Groupon that was $ 25 for $ 50 worth of food. I am thinking ok why not? The parking lot was empty and so was the restaurant. Fine by me because I love sitting at the hibachi table with only my friends anyway lol The hostess was very nice and quick to seat us. Our waitress came by as soon as we sat greeted us and asked what we wanted to drink. Our cook was even better. His name was Johnny I believe. Everyone was so nice and happy. With the Groupon, we did the steak & lobster deal along with chicken fried rice. The meal came with a side salad and soup. Each entrée came with your selected meat /seafood, rice, shrimp, and noodles. It was very delicious! Even better with the price we paid. I would recommend getting the groupon and coming here for dinner. The groupon is confusing and misleading. It says $ 25 for $ 50 worth of food can use up to 4 people. So basically if you walk in the door together and get seated at the same table you can only use ONE groupon, so $ 50 off the entire tab instead of everyone using heir own groupon.

Osaka for the first time was pretty good! I bought a groupon and it was so worth it! We sat at the hibachi and our hostess was so kind! We had two groupons between two groups of four total and we didn’t know it was one groupon per four people but our hostess understood where there would be confusion since we were technically paying separate and let us use both groupons which was really cool. Our chef was very entertaining and made the hibachi fun! Did the typical tricks but also conversated with us too since we were the only people at the table which made it feel more intimate. We had the fried rice, noodles, shrimp, lobster, and steak dinner and it was really good! I would oh eat there again

Go to kyoto and thank me later. Waiters and management here suck. They will threaten to charge you an extra 18% for not eating everything including rice from the sushi. Forced to select 1 star. Actual rating is –5 stars!!!

The food was good except for that my med rare steak was cooked well done, as was my sons. The whole meal seemed to have less flavor then the other Osaka in coon Rapids we went to the week before. If your in coon Rapids and want to go to Osaka It may be worth going to the one on ridgedale It just seemed to taste better.

I’m a truck driver so I don’t get lots of opportunities to eat good sushi since I can’t park at many real sushi places. Luckily my company has a terminal cloae to here so I eat there every time I’m in Coon Rapids. This place has excellent sushi and an all you can eat menu that covers many favorites. An experienced sushi fan will recognize the quality and come back. If they expanded the all you can eat menu it is definitely 5 stars here. My review is based on that menu only. P. S. I sit at the sushi bar and the chef is very attentive. I only use waitresses for drink refill and if they are not quick enough the chef calls them over but no issues there so far.

This review is for their all you can eat menu. I’m giving 4 stars for the food. It was beyond excellent… and i have no complaints there. On the other hand the service was poor. Osaka in maplewood has way better service. Don’t get me wron the waitresses were nice but they were lacking and not on top of their game. We were seated and waited between 10 and 15 mins before a waiter came to our table. And then another 15 mins before we got our food. We didn’t get everything we ordered and some of the order was wrong. We ordered spicy salmon sushi and spicy tuna and got regular. We never got our vegetable rice and it took a while for everything to come out. We frequent Akita in woodbury so we know how all you can eat should go. We still gave a nice tip. My wife doesn’t want to go ever again but I’m sure we’ll give it another go. YOUCANGET A $ 30OFFCOUPONTHATCOST $ 15FROMLIVINGSOCIAL… download the app.

Great sushi! We had the all you can eat sushi and it was deliciously prepared. Flavorful and fresh. The only complaint would be the span between the time you ordered your food, to the time it was brought to your table. However the waitress apologized and in my book — the sushi was worth the wait. All three of us commented on how great the food was! Would definitely recommend — just don’t go there if you are in a hurry.

Went there for lunch with coworkers. I ordered hibachi steak rare and another coworker ordered his medium rare, but both came out well done. Fried rice was very oily, not very flavorful and lukewarm. Seems like the dinner experience is a better bet, but for lunch you would be better off going to Leann Chins for half the price. Service from the staff was attentive.

Good service and good food! We finally used our Groupon here(after first going to the other Osaka in Coon Rapids by mistake) and really enjoyed it! I think the other one might be trying to make this one look bad.

I’ve come here a few times. Service is fine, and they do their job… Personally I don’t want a server that chit chats with me while I’m having my meal. The main reason why I keep coming is because of the amazing trance music playing in the background. Gets me every time. Whoever is in charge of the music, bravo! As for the sushi… not really feelin’ it, but I see more and more sushi places around here putting lettuce in their sushi. This isn’t a sandwich! Plus, the rice is so dense… and each roll is so heavy… where’s the finesse? And I say this from trying numerous maki rolls over time with them. It’s not just from one experience. Come only for their lunch buffet. It’s not a regular buffet. You choose from the menu and they make it fresh for you. I love it! Great price and all the shrimp tempura you can devour.

Firstly, this is just a review of their sushi, I have never had their hibachi. I’m surprised at all the really negative reviews. I eat here all the time and I always have a fairly good experience. Their sushi is cheap and delicious and obviously worth coming back for, a friend and I eat here on almost a weekly basis when I’m in town. The service is kinda meh, it can be good or it can be a bit slow, but I’ve never had awful service. The place is dead if you come during their lunch hours which is nice.

Enjoyed the sushi that had great taste and a very nice portion, but the waitress service was very lackluster and the menu is confusing… also not having iced tea on a hot day was not good.

Last dining experience here was very good. A few mistakes were made such as refilling my sprite with water, another guests lobster was forgotten and not prepared until very late and an order of fried rice was missed, however overall, the food tasted great, the hibachi chefs always have a great show and the portions are outstanding! Just a P. S. for first timers, you will not be disappointed with the fried rice! It IS worth the $ 2.95 to get it!

Our family and group of friends have been here on many occasions. Every time on the Hibachi side has been a BLAST. The food here is absolutely incredible. Out of the 9 of us, I haven’t heard a single complaint in the near-20 times we’ve been here. The rice is amazing, especially if you pour a little bit of the shrimp sauce on it. If you’re not in the mood for the big ‘Hibachi Shows’(which can be quite fun, they will squirt Sake into your mouth and count to see how long you can chug it, and the guys cooking are ALWAYS nice), we’ve also been to the restaurant side of Osaka and can verify that it, too, is great. You can have the same food/order, regardless of which side of Osaka you decide to visit. My favorite is the Hibachi Filet and Scallops. We will happily continue to re-visit for Holidays and the occasional craving.

This was okay. Not as good as Benihana but satisfying to a very hungry couple of people. We were seated with some nice folks. Next to us was a whole table of children which was distracting and somewhat disturbing but entertainment. The wait staff was less than enthusiastic to fulfill our request for no mushrooms. We’re sorry for my allergy but if we’re paying full price, which we were, we’d like to eat all courses included! Not rushing back or anything but satisfactory overall.

If you’ve been to Osaka once for the«show», you’ve seen it all. However, on this trip we took my 4 year old nephew, thinking he would love all the action and fun. WRONG. It wasn’t because of my nephew, though. It was because we had a HORRIBLE hibachi chef! First, I hope this doesn’t sound horrible, but the chef was white. And young. Obviously he was new to the game it and it just wasn’t in his blood. Second, he had no «pizazz!» No excitement. No desire to actually be there entertaining people. He just went through the motions with a blank look on his(sweaty, sweaty) face. It was pretty unfortunate and we left feeling ripped off.
