Envision Optique

The entire staff at Envision Optique went beyond the call of duty when the lab misplaced my sunglasses. Thanks to Naike she not only found my sunglasses after relentless calls to the lab but she also manage to get me a new pair free of charge. Thank you Dr. Obregon and staff.

My appointment went well. I was seen fairly quickly. The doctor was nice, not pushy or anything like that.

While the staff is very nice, the eye doctor is completely arrogant with no bedside manner. Plus he makes you wait forever. I will never return.

I selected Envision as it was close to my house and it was a participant in my insurance.
Both my wife and I had an appointment and we had to wait close to 45 minutes. I guess this is normal for doctors at the end of the day.
Went through the prelim, exam, and discussion with the doctor. Both my wife and I stated that we wanted bifocals as it was covered 100% by the insurance. However, he insisted on Progressives.
Well, either the lab messed up or he did, but I can not read with the progressives and I spend 10 hrs a day reading or in front of a computer. They insisted I give them time to adjust, but after 3 weeks we are still w/​o the ability to read. In the case of my wife, she could not see at all. Not far, not near. She basically demanded a refund and walked away.
The doctor stated that I should get a pair or readers to compensate. What? I was given progressives at the insistence of the doctor, and now he wants me to pay for another set of glasses to read?
Unlike others here, I asked for my prescription and I got it w/​o any hustles. If he would have asked for money, I would have walked out. I have never heard of anyone after you pay for a service, that they do not want to give you the prescription. That was not our experience.
I have to say the staff was friendly, but I believe the overall service was more to make money as selling me progressives and add-on’s is where they make more money.
Would I return? Never

I am stuck with this doctor because it is so close to my house and is covered by my insurance. However, he is very arrogant and thinks he is above the law — dude, you’re just an optometrist. Daily contacts have a valid prescription for two years, and he kept saying that I was not allowed to get a prescription for a 1 year supply after 9 months of having been prescribed these contacts.
On another instance, I used to have 2-​week contacts and after about 7 months, I wanted to switch do dailies because the 2-​week ones were irritating to my eyes. I had to pay full price for an eye exam even though there was no change to the actual measure, just the type of contact. On top of that, to get the right contact, I had to visit the shop three times and he was very stingy about the number of contacts I was allowed to take home to try, ie, only 3 pairs for three days. Does he not know that you can have accidents? And with dailies, if the contact does not go in properly, I just throw it out, since they get blurry afterwards. What a miser. He probably gets them for free anyway.
To add to all of this, after I started getting daily contacts, the manager Naike said that I could get a rebate for my contacts. She gave me a card with the info and because I could get $ 80 for the 1-​year supply that I got, I wanted to do it! She told me that if I had any issues, she would contact the rep (I should have known there would be issues following this offer). After a couple of months of having sent it, I called Naike for help and she never looked into the issue. I called several times after this since it bothers me that someone would recommend something if they know it will just be a waste of my time.

Had a great experience– was received promptly and got right to my exam. The doctor (Dr. Obregon) then saw me right away. Super convenient location on Ponce with street parking right at the door.

Horrible. I’ll keep this short. 1) I’ve been here several times, and each time I have waited at least an hour. 2) The Dr. would not give me my contact prescription that I already paid for!!! He said if I wanted my prescription I would have to pay him more money, even though I already paid!!! Here’s what happened. I paid to have a contact exam/​fitting. I had to go back at least 3 separate times because the prescription was wrong and I didn’t like the brand of contacts (too dry). Fine. But during that time, when we were testing out contacts, life happened. I moved far away, I was busy going to school and working, and it was difficult to find time to go all the way down there for these contact appointments and wait over an hour in their waiting room each time, but I made time and went down when I could. These 3 appointments were scattered out over 8 months. On the third try I was so excited that we finally found the contacts for me. However, the Dr. would not give me my prescription and told me that if I wanted it, I needed to PAY MORE MONEY! I couldn’t believe it. I already paid, but he wanted more money because so much time had elapsed. Of course time had elapsed, we needed to change the prescription and brands! I tried to be fair and said that he could just give me a short prescription and that I would come back for my annual appointment in a few months to renew my prescription (my insurance only allows one appointment per year), but he said NO! He wanted more money out of my own pocket or he would not give me my prescription, that I already paid for!!! Horrible! Just Horrible! Never will I ever go back here!

The doctor was extremely rude. As he walked in exam room, I was extending my parking meter time on my phone and he ordered me to put it down or come back another day. I left immediately. There was no hello from him. No good morning. This was my first visit to this office. I will not return.

I hate to admit my eyesight gets a little worse by the day… Therefore, I don’t love visiting Envision Optique because they always confirm this sad fact of life. That being said, they are ensuring I keep seeing well so I guess that’s a good thing and why they get four stars.
I first visited Dr. Obregon last year when I needed a new optometrist in the area. Long story short, I ended up coming about six times within a month and half. With words like scratched cornea being thrown around, it wasn’t their fault but aggravating nonetheless to fit in weekly appointments all revolving around poking at my eyes. What made it even worse? Long wait times. I’m talking about show up for your appointment at noon and hoping you even get seen by one. Unfortunately, that’s the kind of thing I’ve come to expect at most Miami doctor offices. Sigh…
I returned for my annual exam recently with no scratched cornea and things went a lot smoother this time. Even securing the first appointment of the day at 10, the doc doesn’t seem to roll in until 10:30 so I guess no matter the time, just don’t expect to be seen on time.
You probably ask why I don’t just seek another, perhaps more time sensitive, optometrist? Well, because at the end of the day, Dr. Obregon knows what he’s talking about, the rest of his friendly staff is super helpful and, just a couple of times a year, I am able to put on my big girl pants and pull out the patience that is needed for enduring the frustrating wait.
Just don’t expect those pants to come out often. After all, I do prefer skirts.

I have been coming to this office for the last 3 years, mainly because of my husband’s issue with finding contacts. The previous office we went to, the personnel were very cold and austere, and here it is the exact opposite.
Neike (pronounced Nike) and Alba are not only superbly courteous, but also very accommodating. They help you with what you need but are never pushy as regards a sale. They have a very nice selection of glasses– we got my husband some great Gucci and Ray Ban eyeglasses. As regards prices, you will easily spend around $ 300 plus for the glasses, more for the designer brands, including all the added benefits such as anti-​glare. The reason I buy here versus other places is that they work with many vision insurance programs, they give you $ 20 credit for every person you refer, and all glasses come with a TWO year warranty with NO copay! My husband has scratched his glasses at least 5 times and we just call in and they order the new lenses no questions asked. When they come in, they call him, swap the lenses, and voila, finito!
As regards Dr. Obregon, he is equally amazing. He takes his time with you and talks to you and works to help you find just the right contact for you. My husband has severe astigmatism in one eye and has never been able to find the right contact. The last doctor said he couldn’t use soft lenses and said he had to use special order lenses that were $ 600!!! When we visited Dr. Obregon, we found out that was not the case and he was able to work with him and find him a disposable pair he could finally use. Ever since then, we have never gone elsewhere.
So please, next time you’re in need of some new spectacles, give this place a try!

Just lost another customer today. They don’t care about the customer and all they want to do is find an excuse to charge more. I saw the negative reviews of Envision Optique before becoming a patient but because it is so close to my job I decided the convenience factor was worth the risk. A decision I strongly regret. I would suggest to any Unilocaler, friends and colleagues to stay away from this place. Its just not worth it.

This doctor is not very competent. I went for my annual eye exam and I had the worst experience ever. He had to do the eye test 3 times because he could not find the right prescription. The same day, I had to come back in the afternoon because the prescription went to high in one of my eyes and I had a terrible headache. He agreed to reimburse for the contact lenses trial and to date he has not done so. Do not waste your time and money.

They are spammers even though I’ve told them several times over the phone and through email to stop sending me emails THEY STILL SEND them. I had a horrible experience with Dr. Obregon and I haven’t been back. It been over 5 years since my first and last appointment. Whoever their marketing person is the need to fire that person when a person tells them they want to opt out of getting their emails they should listen.

I find everyone at Envision Optique to be very professional. Dr. Obregon is a person that takes his job very seriously and is always looking out for the patient’s best interest.

I’ve been visiting Dr. Obregon now for about five years, so you can say I’ve seen this place flourish. Speaking of Dr. Obregon, he’s a bit serious and strict but very professional, dedicated and passionate about the work that he does.
I don’t know about you but those are traits I want from someone who can impact the way I see life.
His entire staff is amazing! Elsa, Daniel, and Oscar are very personable, patient, and understanding of your needs. Oscar is my favorite due to his humility and humorous side.
As far as prices… They’re pretty competitive. My wife bought a pair of Gucci sunglasses $ 50 cheaper than Nordstrom.
Overall, the people are what make place special and I have to say everyone there while different they’re all great in their own way!!!

I have been a customer at Envision Optique for the past few years. Even though this place does have its flaws, I wanted to keep the consistency with my eye exams, the place is clean, classy and the staff is professional.
First its flaws: the timing. Timing is a major factor when it comes to making your appointment, if you get the first appointment, it isn’t going to start exactly on time. So keep that in mind. Their day starts of at 10am on weekdays, not too sure about weekends.
Also, if you are going to get your eyes dilated, make sure you do it in the later afternoon hours and on days they are allowed to do so. I had made an appoinment on a Saturday and the doctor had informed me that they usually do not do eye dilation, which my response was I cannot do this during the week due to work hours.
Dudes, you gotta change the music that plays in store, smooth jazz is like 80’s. (there are some soft listening radio stations)
Anyhow– for the better part: their staff is friendly and professional, they also know how to work with your insurance. This benefited me plenty since I was able to get prescription glasses and sunglasses for a good price while paying for contacts out of my pocket. Whereas had I gone to another place I would have paid double the price.
Also, keep in mind, the selection of frames in their store isn’t just what is available, they also look up online to see if they have maybe different colors. In other words, don’t limit yourself to what is on display in the store. This came in handy when ordering my sunglasses, I was able to get the frame in black, even though the original frames on display were of a brown color. (even though a mistake was made and my sunglasses were sent in brown, the staff re ordered and I got my black frame sunglasses, I’m a happy camper). Also keep in mind that it takes a couple of days to get your items.
So, its not the best place and its not the worst either, I like calm and professionalism especially if I’m going to spend time there, you can always go to starbucks up the street or take a stroll around the little park infront of the office.

I would suggest that you stay away from this clown and get a doctor who actually cares about his patients.
1. My daughter had an appointment at 3:00pm, my wife made it very clear that it was during her lunch break and that she only had one hour. Naturally, the doctor didn’t have time to see her in spite of the appointment.
2. We had a follow up appointment at 11:00 Saturday morning; naturally, he didn’t «have time» to see her until 11:30 and that’s because I argued.
3. He wrote her prescriptions wrong and, as a result, we had to redo her eyeglasses
The guy and his little assistant upfront are arrogant, could not care less about their patients and have no respect for anyone’s time.
We are certainly not returning.

Dear Envision Optique,
Well, I returned on Friday to pick up my new specs and to have my eyes dilated and checked. I arrived around 10:45am and since there was no one in the shop, I started thinking I would be in and out quickly.
However, that was not the case. First, which I had not been previously told, the drops that dilate your eyes takes about 30 minutes to kick in, and here I am running late for work and pressed for time. But ok, I never asked, and so, I can only blame myself. Plus I should have gotten there at opening at 10am, so I was already running myself behind.
Well, being that I had to wait 30 minutes for the drops to do their trick, I opted to wait in my car, jamming to music and hanging out with my love (he drove so that my blind ass wouldn’t crash leaving with my eyes dilated). When I walked back in 25 minutes later, there was another person in the waiting room. No biggie I thought.
However, where it all went a bit wrong for me was at this point. He gets checked out and they drop the same drops in his eyes. He sits in the waiting room with me. 5 minutes later the assistant comes out, and just when I think he’s about to call my name, he calls the other guy over.
Wait a minute, doesn’t he have to wait the same 30 minutes for the drops to kick in?! So, it was an other half hour before I was seen. This upset me. I didn’t walk out of there til noon. :(
But hey, these are the situations that one experiences when dealing with such a quaint, personal, small doctor’s office. I guess it’s a give and a take.
My glasses are fabulous and I love the way I look in them. :) No complaints there. Thanks guys of Envision!
