This morning while composting, tending to my heirloom tomatoes, and reciting my daily affirmations, my mom announced, «it’s Christmas tree time!»
In Miami, you can’t just run out to the forest and chop down an evergreen. So, for years my family and I have made it customary to drive over to help the firefighters help us.
Located just off US 1, this firefighter-​run tree stop has everything you’d ever want from a local option. The guy who helped us pulled a tree from the back and hooked us up with an awesome deal. $ 85 for an 8ft tree, when similar, less epic evergreens graced the display aisles. «I wish more people just let me pull out the best trees from the back, but most folks are scared of the surprise and just like what lies before them.» Truth, my friend.
