PhysioCore Pilates & Rehab

I had a very bad experience with Physiocore. I had signed up for a four class package — two private classes and two semi-​private (four persons max class). The classes themselves were not a problem, the administration of the business is the problem. The emphasis here is all on the all-​mighty dollar. They are super strict on their policies, such as you must complete all four classes within a two week period. That would be fine except for the fact that they have very few classes offered and many were already filled. On top of that EVERYTHING must be done through their website. If you call the office with any questions, it ALWAYS goes to voicemail and it takes them at least 24 hours to return a phone call, if they do at all. When they have to cancel a class, their attitude is no big deal. When the Instructor is late, and then comes in with kids in tow, that is no big deal. But God forbid that you try to cancel or reschedule. I own a business, I know what customer service is about, I know what it takes to be in a service industry. Physiocore makes it clear from the moment that you sign up that they don’t care about their custoners AT ALL, they care about the rules that they impose on their clients and they are quick to get very nasty if you ask them to make accomodations. There are much better pilates studios in this town to have to tolerate their poor customer service. I DO NOT recomment Physiocare.

I started physical therapy at Physiocore nearly 4 years ago for a dehabilitating back injury I suffered in a car accident. Dorys treated me through Pilates and not only did I FULLY recover from my back pain, but I noticed that my body had begun to change. Within 6 weeks, I saw definition in my arms, legs and my abs. I had cuts in my abs I had never seen before! My posture improved significantly, as if my muscles had been elongated. I was so impressed with the results from both the Pilates and physical therapy combined, that now I do circuit Pilates classes religiously. I’ve never looked or felt better! I recommend Physiocore Pilates to all my friends. It’s like a family there! NOT only that, the prices are VERY VERY reasonable compared to other pilates studios. The biggest difference is that the service is more personal since classes are semi-​private, compared to other places I’ve tried. Needless to say, when I go on vacation, or when I skip a few sessions because of work pressures, my body immediately feels it. The moment I go back to Dorys, my abs begin to look defined again. It’s like magic. I swear it’s addicting. If you’re looking to try pilates, this is DEFINITELY the place. Not sure why anyone would leave a less than stellar review!

The studio is pretty new and is nicely decorated, very comfy and is well-​equipped. Dorys, the owner of the studio who is also a physical therapist gave private session to me after knowing of my neck injury. She could claim the session from my health insurance. She apparently should have the right skills to help me, but because of her inattentiveness, not sure if it was because she just had a baby that cause her lack of sleep, she ended up hurting me more than helping me. She did mechanically assist me to do what needed to be done on the reformer, but I thought I came to a private session for a reason, I need more attention to my injured neck. And the whole time she was only talking about her kids instead of my problem, which definitely not what I was here for. Overall, it was not a bad experience, but if you are injured, and are looking for physical therapist, I would suggest somewhere else.

If you are looking for a classical pilates studio with an incredibly knowledgeable instructor, in a clean and upbeat environment, look no further. Dorys (the owner, and one of the two instructors) is fantastic. I’ve been a dancer for 30 years and suffer from scoliosis, herniated discs, and new-​mommy back pain. Dorys is also a physical therapist and when you take one of her classes, you are in the hands of a pro. She has a deep understanding of the human body and helps tailor the class to your needs. Rebecca, the second teacher, is a wonderful pilates instructor with impeccable alignment. Both of their classes are challenging and proper alignment is always the focus. They still manage to make the class fun and exciting – the exercises and equipment constantly change. I also appreciate how immaculate the studio is kept. The classes range from beginner to advanced and any age is welcome. They have 4 reformers so you must call in advance to schedule a class. They book up quickly, but you can always be put on a wait list. Lastly, if you are looking for a physical therapist, Dorys is SO good. I am highly impressed with the caliber of this studio.
