Our program focuses on the physical, emotional and mental well being and education of our children. It is «Education for Life.» We provide our young students with the most powerful defensive skills so they will be ready to stand up against bullies. In addition, we assist our students with the development of characteristics and skills they will need in order to live a happy and balanced life. Our young pupils develop confidence, discipline, courage, responsibility, and leadership among other important values. We promote non-​violent resolutions to conflict.

Our curriculum integrates physical education and self-​defense techniques with conditioning and skill oriented games aimed at improving your child’s coordination, motor skills, agility and flexibility. Every instructor receives training in our unique teaching methodology, enabling them to deliver learning using a variety of approaches that meet the various learning types of individual children, whether visual, kinesthetic or auditory.

History

Established in 2012.

Valente Brothers was established in South Florida in 1995. After over a decade of success, maintaining the principles, ideals and methods that Grandmaster Hélio Gracie left for us, an affiliate program was designed to extend the Valente Brothers reach. With two affiliate schools up and running in Fort Lauderdale and Pembroke Pines, Valente Brothers is now returning down south to open our home in the city of Coral Gables. Back in 1995, Professor Pedro Valente founded his first Jiu-​Jitsu club at the University of Miami where he taught several students and faculty members. The school is located at 275 University Dr.

Professor Jimmy Robertson will be leading the new affiliate. Jimmy started learning Jiu-​Jitsu from Professor Pedro Valente in 1993. Jimmy and Pedro’s friendship dates back to their high school days at the American School of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In 1993 both decided to enroll at the University of Miami where they became roommates. Influenced by Pedro’s love for Jiu-​Jitsu and Royce’s amazing victories in the Ultimate Fighting Championship Jimmy was attracted by the Jiu-​Jitsu philosophy. Soon Jimmy became one of Pedro’s most technical students. Jimmy’s loyalty, moral attributes and years of dedication combined with his technical abilities allowed him the opportunity to be the first person to take the Valente Brothers Instructors Course. In December of 2003 Professor Pedro Valente awarded Jimmy his Black Belt and instructor’s certification. Moreover, in 2007, Jimmy is the only black belt to be awarded a Professor’s Diploma by Valente Brothers.
