We specialize in handmade chocolates & quality coffees. Winans is a family owned business that has been making great products for 4 generations. Our Chocolates are all handmade! Our coffee is Single Origin fresh roasted. Our Signature chocolates include Double Dark Meltaways, Peanut Butter Delights, Salt Caramels and more! Coffee: we offer Single Origin coffees from Kenya, Sumatra, Columbia, Ethiopia and more. We have specialty blends and fantastic flavors. We also blend our single origins to create a Winans Blend dark roast coffee that is unique and delicious.

History

Established in 1961.

Winans’ history traces all the way back to bakery confections in the late 1800’s. The third generation bakers, brothers Max and Dick Winans, added hand-​dipped chocolates, brittles and copper kettle caramels to their bakery line and opened Winans Carriage House Candies in Piqua Ohio in 1961. The Winans business has been handed down from one generation to the next and now it’s ready to head west and share its history (and deliciousness) with Iowa!

Cindy is a graduate of Iowa City West High school. Cindy spend the last 35 years working in corporate roles across the US and around the world. In the summer of 2014 Cindy decided it was time to return to the Iowa City/​Coralville area and what better way to return then with a Chocolates and Coffee shop! Cindy looks forward to reconnecting with people in Iowa and introducing them to the great Winans products!
