It’s small. Why is it so small? Isn’t Moon a tremendously large and vast school district? Isn’t it a moderately wealthy area? Why is this library so very small?!? I have attempted to take my kids to the storytime a few times since the programming sounds great! It is so overcrowded though, it becomes something you are unable to enjoy. Everyone is crammed into a room that MIGHT fit 10 people, but 20 always show up. Plan on getting hit with the door since there is no where else to stand.

I’m writing this review in hopes that they see this and change. I recently had a video conference job interview over lunch. I obviously couldn’t conduct this at my current job, so I went to the Library next to my office. Perfect right? They support people trying to find a job. Wrong. I was told that they only had one private room and it was a «first come, first serve basis.» Therefore I couldn’t book it for the time of my interview. So I asked the clerk at the desk what I should do since I would be talking and listening through earphones. She said if I went to the back of the Library, I shouldn’t bother anyone. But if I was bothering other patrons I’d have to move. I arrived early to connect to the WiFi and get prepared. There were 3 kids and a nanny in that private room playing and coloring. Really??? I didn’t know this room could be used as a private play room too??? So I went to the back and set up. There was a woman already back there reading. I explained the situation to her and she was completely okay with it and said it wouldn’t bother her at all. I began my interview and about 10 minutes into it, an older man in his 80’s came to sit down in the back with his newspaper. He started giving me the evil eye. I see him out of corner of my eye talking to the woman who is telling him that I’m in the middle of a job interview. He didn’t care one bit. He walked up to me and started yelling at me in the middle of my interview to be quiet. The people on the video conference heard and saw everything. I had to shut down my video interview and continue the interview by phone in my car. It was not only utterly embarrassing, but I lost my train of thought and flow and couldn’t get my focus back for the interview. Needless to say, I didn’t get the job. This is a library that is supposed to be there for the public in this capacity. Its NOT just a reading room. If they had made the one private room able to be reserved, this wouldn’t have happened. I don’t see what’s so difficult about that. So Moon Library, I hope you feel great about costing me a job that I’ve been pursuing for 6 months. Get your act together and come into the 21st century. The world is a melting pot. People are not bound to jobs in their own backyard. Using the internet to conduct meetings and job interviews is common place now. You need to provide a place to do so.
