Uncle Ike’s Sandbar & Grill

Bad experience — we were seated within 15 minutes — outside. Waited for our server quite a while, 10 minutes. Placed our order took over 45 minutes and we left.
Not from North Carolina, but we saw what looked like huge roaches crawling on the walls near our table. We went to pay and rather than apologize and not charge us for our lemonade, they told us to come back for a free drink gave the waitress $ 5 and was grateful I didn’t get sick from a rushed, undercooked meal.
Didn’t care for people smoking outside (non patrons– people waiting for their pizza) next to our table. and our table location was under a loud outdoor speaker, which made it difficult to talk.
Just not a good experience — they should have comped us our drinks (non alcoholic) :(

Food was really good, party of 7 all liked their meals. Super casual, but good service.

Pretty decent food. We had two types of fish tacos. The fish was juicy and fresh but the tacos had almost nothing else in them. They could use quite a bit more salsa, lettuce or some coleslaw. The service was excellent.

My wife and I ate here during our vacation to the Outer Banks, and we were very pleased. I had the Alfredo pasta with shrimp and a Caesar salad. She had chicken quesadillas. Everything was very good, and we got plenty to eat. The staff was attentive and friendly, and the place had a good atmosphere. We will definitely eat here the next time we vacation here.

Food is fantastic! Really enjoyed myself. Inside décor could be a bit better. More Windows would be great!

Super great breakfast! Beach Bar-​like, casual atmosphere. Had the breakfast burrito which was delish! Son had kids pancakes that he enjoyed and husband had Ike’s Starter and said it was very good. Definitely will come back next year!

We Went to this place because of the good reviews here and on Tripadvisor. The menus selection seemed diverse, though prices for just sandwiches ranged up to $ 17. And dinners were $ 25+. I ordered seafood nachos for $ 14. They were super duper spicy hot (which I hate and wasn’t disclosed on menu) and super light on the seafood. Very disappointed. My son’s $ 7 kids meal consisted of soggy seasoned fries and real chicken tenders. Decent. My husband’s chicken sandwich was good. The service here was very good and all were very friendly. This review doesn’t reflect them at all. The restaurant inside could have been cleaner (crumbs in corners, blinds were filthy and a fly was competing with us for our food). Over all disappointed and definitely would not return.

Stopped here with family of eight and was treated so friendly. Waiter went above and beyond to take good care of us. Had to wait a littler longer for food because of the busy evening but well worth our wait! Had crab cake sandwich, fish and chips and hamburger platter all were absolutely to die for! Can’t wait to visit again maybe even twice within our week!

Recently had breakfast while staying @ Corolla. The food was very good as the waitstaff was fantastic. Will visit again.

We came here twice this past week during our OBX vacation. SO good! The firecracker shrimp were amazing! My husband loved his blackened fish tacos and the kids loved the homemade mac and cheese. We ordered the fried Oreo dessert… AMAZING!!! We LOVED this place. So, so good!

One of the best spots in Corolla. We really enjoyed the blackened fish tacos as well as the fried oreo dessert. The firecracker shrimp was also on point.

From the outside it doesn’t look that big but the inside has a great beachhead my feel and there is a lot of space. We came for dinner with a large group and were seated immediately. The food was absolutely delicious and our waiter was great and very helpful. Will definitely be back again!

Our family will not return to Uncle Ike’s ever again. While the food is great, the customer service was worthy of negative stars. What went wrong? The better question is what didn’t go wrong?
Our party ordered beef nachos for an appetizer. We waited and waited (thinking that we wouldn’t ask about the status of our nachos because as the menu says, «patience is a virtue.») But then our food arrived and our nachos were nowhere to be found. We asked about our nachos and the servers disappeared. When our waiter returned to ask how everything was, we asked about our nachos again. He proceeded to say that they were on their way. No apology. Didn’t even look over his shoulder as he walked away. The nachos were delivered to our table after two members of our party had finished eating. (The kicker, they gave us the seafood nachos instead of the beef nachos… A mixup that would have surely been averted if our waiter wrote down our order instead trying and failing to remember the orders for a party of four.)
And as if that didn’t leave a bitter taste our mouths, the check arrived. Our waiter charged us for an extra drink. One member of the party ordered a small garden salad and they charged us for a full sized house salad.
That being said, our waiter fixed the bill. (Albeit, begrudgingly.)
I have never been driven to write a Unilocal review in my life. I just hope someone in management reads this review and teaches their employees a thing or two about customer service. (And maybe makes a pen and pencil a mandatory tool for the job.)

This place was a great choice, came here the other night and this I would have to say was one of of our favorites. The staff was very friendly and I really felt that cool small community vibe. If you get up this way stop at Ike’s you will not regret it!

This place has become a must have when visiting Corolla! Had the fish and chips tonight and I highly recommend it! Mild fish, lightly breaded and a homemade remoulade… And the firecracker shrimp are some of the best I’ve ever had!

The only thing I was disappointed with was not discovering this place sooner! We were here for breakfast and both the omelet and breakfast lasagna was fantastic! Great service, cute place. I will be back. Found a place going on my favorites list for OBX.

Friendly staff and quick service for a party of 7. After reading reviews I had my heart set on trying the chicken and waffles but it didn’t appear to be on the menu since it was off season. I asked our waiter about it and he checked with the kitchen and they were happy to make it for me! Everyone at the table really enjoyed their food, this included the shrimp and grits, seafood Mac and cheese, fish tacos, fish and chips and the Tuscan chicken salad.

Nice wait staff, our waiter ‘Justus’ was a very friendly and accommodating. We pieced together some vegan /​vegetarian options (or what we thought were) on the menu that ended up being very tasty considering there are none. The beer selection is decent and the prices were a bit high but this is a common thing for the area. My only real complaint is that the pickle chips were battered with egg and we did not realize this until being half-​way through. Most people do not realize that yes it is possible to batter and fry without eggs, but yes it IS possible. Nice place, nice staff but they need to try just a bit harder to please guests with alternate diet options.
