99 Ranch Market

The Asian guy that works in the bakery has such bad attitude. Every time when I see him working there I just leave, rather get breads somewhere else.

Of course my first review after moving to Cali has to be 99 Ranch!
Ranch 99 or 99 ranch, whatever you wanna call it, is home! Before coming to Cali, I lived in Texas and Florida for 12 years. Sadly I had never lived in a place where there was a big Asian community. Having a Chinese super market like 99 ranch is like a dream. I’ve only been to 99 ranch in Dallas and Houston in the past. But those stores were 3 – 5 hours from me. So now I have a 99 ranch that’s only 25 mins drive, I almost cried for joy!
I have only moved to this area for a day, and I was already at 99 ranch! This particular location is so big, clean, and organized. They have abundant selections for everything: fresh Asian produce, snacks, rice, cooking sauce, live seafood, and much more. They also have a few restaurants you can eat at. I had some xiao long bao and they were amazing. In addition, there was a bakery for all Asian pastries and cakes! I picked up a pork sung bread. It was off the chart!!!
My favorite part is the prepared and cooked food section. They have steamed buns, cold dishes, cold noodles, etc. I picked up some steamed buns and a tofu side dish. That’s easily a cheap and delicious meal. Customer service is great. People all seem so friendly here. You bet I got myself a 99 ranch rewards card right away b/​c I will be coming here A LOT!
Hello California, hello 99 ranch! I’m finally home!!!

First time being there it was en experience and they have samples of food items anyone can try. Wow it was a bit overwhelming but still awesome

Whoa, a newer 99 Ranch! This location is enormous, clean, has plenty of parking and even has a food court inside! Unlike other 99 Ranch locations, this one doesn’t smell like seafood and the employees all speak English. I think it’s mostly because it’s catered to the area, which is cool — definitely a nice change from the dirty 99 Ranch I’m used to visiting in Rowland Heights.
I ordered one of the three-​item express meals from the Chinese restaurant in the back of the food court, but they also had one-​item and two-​item options. The food was pretty greasy, tasted just okay, and didn’t taste very authentic to me. Luckily, the meal was cheap, so at least I didn’t spend too much on food that was just completely forgettable. I also tried a boba from here and it was rather disgusting — overly sweet, chalky, and tasted nothing like tea. On the bright side, I noticed they have a TenRen’s Express in their food court, so it looks like not all is lost — an authentic milk tea IS possible to get inside this 99 Ranch! I’m glad they have one out here, although I can’t see myself coming out this way very often, considering it’s so remote… but I wouldn’t mind stopping by again if I needed to pick up some Asian groceries or wanted a quick Chinese meal, although I would definitely temper my expectations because I know the food is a bit more Americanized to cater more to the surrounding population.

I noticed this store has a big problem, they Do not put the weekend on sale items on the shelves, I went there many times and tried to buy the veggie or fruit on special they did not have them. This morning I went to the 99 ranch try to get some lotus roots, under the sign there was nothing, try to get yellow cherries did not see any. Even though I talked to the customer service staffs there, still useless. Chino hills Ranch 100 times better than this one.

Honestly, this 99 ranch is way more than meets the eye. Inside the market is like a million other stores and eateries. All of which taste really good

Nice selection of Asian foods but stay away from the deli. My son and I went there in the early evening hoping to get some authentic Asian food but after perusing the deli, we changed our minds.

This place has everything I need. I like coming here especially for my seafood and when I don’t feel like cooking my fish I can just have they fry it up for me. It’s free.

So this was fun. The freezers are FILLED with all sorts of yummy short cuts if you want to make traditional stuff at home. I bought some potstickers and some fancy vinegar and strawberries. They had some exotic fruits which were super fun to look at. The place is clean and the store certainly has an exotic feel. I used to live in Japan so I looked for a salad dressing I loved when I lived there. Alas, no luck.
I did get some food to go and bought those few groceries. I certainly will come back. It was super fun seeing all the things you could make at home.
Also I thought the prices were good. I got strawberries for $ 1.50.

I really enjoy coming here and learning about different ingredients and/​or condiments. The staff here is also helpful, I seemed lost the first few time I went there but now I feel like any other store lol. Definitely recommend trying this place if you feel like trying something new !

I like 99 Ranch Market for convenience and variety of Asian food.
I wish I can give them more stars ! But: fruits are all in strange condition ! I mean when you bring those fruits home they got rotten very fast ! I really don’t know why… But I try do not buy fruits over there.
More upsetting is that Chinese Kitchen fast food (take out) they have is extremely not friendly and is not keeping people in line no matter what ! They have numbers, so line can stay in order… And they messing up the line anyway ! We have been waiting our number «20» for a long time !!! It was always number «17» and they served few people without numbers ! And they are not talking is you ask question !!! For what they set this number machine then ??? It happened way too many times ! We give up !!! Sorry ! That service is a big mess !!!

Speaking strictly for the deli, don’t bother. The food is worse than other 99 ranch markets with a limited selection. Portion sizes are pathetic– all you get are two of anything quantifiable, except for meatballs which you get one of. Anything not easily counted, you get a tiny scoop like you would expect at a villainous orphanage. Concrete example: the sweet and sour fish was three tiny pieces of fish barely bigger than a silver dollar, and a mound of old mushy vegetables. Pork chops got me two HALF pieces with barely enough meat to fill a teaspoon.
The market is acceptable, modern and clean but there’s nothing about this place that separates it or even makes it equal to others. Just dealing with the stingy deli portions is enough to make me say AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

This location has the cleanest isles I have ever seen for a 99 Ranch Market. And it doesn’t smell like stale seafood!
There’s a a bakery, noodle restaurant, boba café, Thai fast food, cheap asian buffet, cellphone store, beauty supply store, gift shop, and if I remember correctly… a bank inside this location. So it’s like a mini mall /​food court inside a grocery store.
This place is huge! The seafood section is straight to the back. The snacker-​doodles as usual, you know the cookies in tin cans and such, are at the front end of isles facing the cash registers. If you’re considering cooking ramen soup at home, you’ll find your ingredients when entering the right side of the store in the refrigerated/​frozen isles after you pass up the restaurants.
But how convenient to lounge around while whomever company you’re with does grocery shopping. If you’re like me, you’d be walking through each isle browsing for something interesting.
Take note on weekends this parking lot gets packed, even though the store is located in a large plaza. To exit the parking lot, try driving further toward Home Depot then enter the line of cars inching their way out onto McKinley.

Always go here whenever I am in the area and I stock up on essentials I cant get anywhere else. Love the frozen dumplings and sweet buns. Nice big clean store with good music and lots of parking.

The thing about shopping at Asian supermarkets here in California or anywhere on the mainland is undoubtedly, you’re going to find it to be a hot mess. To many, Asians may look alike, but when it comes to what they eat and how they merchandise, it’s all over the place. When you try to catch them all in one shopping extravaganza, there’s no way to avoid the freaking circus that will ensue. And that’s what makes shopping at 99 ranch market such an entertaining experience.
From the hodgepodge of Asian cuisine surrounding you when you enter the store, to fish I’ve never seen before in my life swimming around freely in the back waiting for their death, to the barely English-​speaking cashier, it’s a wonder I can even find what I came for half the time. But somehow, I’m always able to find that certain type of Asian merchandise I’m looking for. Is this genetic? Do they have some form of a mind scanner as I walk through the door?
Whatever the case may be, not only did I walk away with a good sushi quality brand of rice today, but a free freaking lightbulb! Again bottling (for you
–ers) my mind, and having me leaving thinking, how the hell do they come up with these things?
Will I be back? Yes! Will I wear a tin foil hat next time? Likely.

99 Ranch Market is very close to my cousins home. It’s nice they have an asian market close by, otherwise they would have to travel 1.5−2 hours (tons of traffic) to westminster for their asian groceries. This grocery store reminded me of one back home! It had all the essentials that everyone needs! Super big, friendly staff! And they also have a little food court inside of the market!

A very nice 99 Ranch location with a clean & spacious layout. Plenty of food selection & reasonable prices. Like the bakery inside & some fast food options.

I absolutely love this place! One stop shop for my ethnic cooking needs. The food vendors within the establishment are absolutely awesome, as well. I had some of the roasted duck from them about a week back and it was some of the heartiest, meatiest duck I have ever had. So delicious, too! I was really impressed by the quality.
I also love their store brand pre-​prepared dumplings from the refrigerated section. Great snack selections here as well! I am addicted to seaweed snacks and they have a nice variety to select from. This place has quickly become a weekly stop for me and my family.

If there is a significant demographic of Asians in a particular city, there will be one of these markets. My parents have been taking me religiously to 99 Ranch Markets since I was a kid. Great place to shop for live seafood. Other than that, the only thing I really buy here is packaged ramen, and ethnic snacks.
Here’s a tip, if someone cuts in front of you at the checkout line, you need to realize that in Asian countries there’s no such thing as lines or queues. It’s everyone for themselves. It’s a cultural thing and try not to overreact. It’s not worth going to jail or embarrassing yourself just because you wanted to fill your cabinets with Sriracha and durian.

If you’re into cooking Asian food, or just seafood, this is the place for you!
They have all the ethnic produce and ingredients your little aspiring chefs hear could desire.
From ginger, to ginseng. From dry ingredients to dorian fruit… They have it.
It is very aesthetically pleasing inside too. From the neat and clean fresh produce aisle, to the live seafood tanks. It’s beautiful inside.
Only one problem. Most employees do not speak English. So you will have to search around a bit to find what you need.
Also, you don’t have to wait to get home to enjoy a yummy Asian snack. there is a small food court inside. There is a ten ren tea time, a ihaw ihaw Filipino place and a few other.
Also note, when you walk in there is a bulletin board for their weekly specials. Utilize this.
