Really great prices for really yummy food. I love this place. It is family owned and has a relaxed atmosphere. The service is always excellent. I like to order their scallop roll, and eel rolls. I love their food. It is always presented nicely too. For my two children and I we usually spend forty bucks and are overstuffed.

I love sushi and have come here a few times. The food is consistent and has always been fresh and tasty. It can get a little busy during lunch; that’s my only complaint. But the sushi is worth the wait. I usually get the spicy rainbow, tako sushi and tried the garlic albacore today. Amazing! Atmosphere is mom n pop which is probably why prices are so good. Otherwise, sushi is restaurant quality(not the typical fast sushi to go places).

Wow. This place was absolutely awful! My husband and I LOVE sushi and we were excited to try this place because of the Unilocal reviews and the fact that its reasonably priced. Unfortunately when my husband brought the food home, it was horrible. We ordered a teriyaki bowl for our daughter and a crunch and California roll for us. The bowl looked like it had been sitting with the sauce on it for days — completely dried out and very unappetizing. The sushi literally smelled like it had gone bad, not only foul smelling but was discolored. For fear of getting sick, I considered it inedible. We called the restaurant to explain to them that the food was not good and we’d either like fresh food prepared or our money back and after much back-n-forth the owner begrudgingly agreed. When my husband arrived back at the restaurant with the food in hand, they told him they never agreed to our request and would not make new food, nor issue a refund. In fact, they said«not everyone likes our food, that is not our problem.» Then the woman walked away and started helping another customer before my husband had even finished talking. We had to go to the bank and ask them to remove the charge and 3 months later this company actually FOUGHT us on our refund for $ 30.00! They clearly don’t care about customer satisfaction, loyalty or quality food, they only want your money. There are many other options for sushi in Corona, steer clear of Maki Yaki!

Me and my boyfriend love this place. Its honestly one of the best sushi places ive been too. The udon soup is super amazing, me and my bf always share it along with two rolls. and we are full by the end of it. Our food never goes over $ 25 here for both of us. Thats a pretty good deal. The register lady is very nice. Her and the guy that makes the sushi always say bye to us when we leave. I recommend this sushi place to everybody.

This place is kind of hidden in the shopping area. I got the chicken bento box. You get a good amount of different items for the price.(9.99) I loved the shrimp tempura but did not finish the other items that were fried. The soup was yummy and the chicken was good as well. The California roll was delicious. I would probably stick to a regular chicken teriyaki bowl seeing how I could not finish all of my food.

Having been a sushi lover for years now, this mom and pop sushi and Japanese spot is one of few worthy of five stars; in my humble opinion, of course. We’ve been customers here many times in the last few months since discovering this gem. The location is convenient; right off the freeway on Main st. While clean and simple, this place may be more appealing for take-out. It’s not bad eating in, just not your typical So Cal date spot. The family who owns and runs Maki Yaki are very friendly and courteous; always making sure to repeat the order. Service is relatively quick as everything is made to order. Now for the food: 10 stars!!! I honestly have never had yellow tail(my favorite) sashimi as thick and tasty as I have here. It’s not so fishy tasting as it is just plain good. That goes for all the fish. I’m not sure who their supplier is, but they must be picky. I honestly had no idea sushi could be so good. It’s like I was trudging through planet Sushi and came across El Dorado; sushi paradise on earth! Bottom line: LOOKSAREDECEIVING. YOUAREMISSINGOUTIFYOUARE A SUSHILOVERINTHE I.E. ANDHAVEN’T BEENHERE! Seriously; do it even if it’s just to put my review to the test. If you’re dissapointed, you my friend came with pre-conceived sushi notions.

Wow, this place has the best sushi for the price you pay. Actually it is better than many high-end sushi restaurants I have been to. I loved the udon noodles and baked salmon rolls. Excellent service. I think the owners are the only ones running the place so it’s amazing how fast the food came out. Everything was fresh. We will be coming back soon!

Came here last week despite me not liking sushi but my girlfriend was craving it. So, with that I ordered the chicken teriyaki bowl which was really really good, but not the greatest The only reason I’m giving 1 star was because she ate the California rolls that came with my ordered. She said they tasted like they’ve been sitting out all day. Later that night she threw up and felt sick the rest of the day. I guess it’s a hit or miss with seafood. Won’t be going to this place again

Positively the best sushi in town. I have never had such good sushi. Their rolls are always well put together and they taste amazing. The interior could use some upgrades. I was a little skeptical when I first went there but when I tired the sushi rolls, I was taken back. Very sweet people who own the sushi restaurant, I love going there!

I like this place. I go on my lunch since it’s close to my job. I usually get a rainbow roll. I think the prices are good and you get what you pay for. The rolls seem to fall apart easily though. That is my only real complaint.

Ordered the chicken teriyaki bento box which was absolutely delicious. This meal came with miso soup and a sale on the side besides the box. The portions of chicken teriyaki and tempura veggies and shrimp were very generous. The California roll was just ok.

My first time eating at this location right next to Subway. Don’t let the drab décor and humble atmosphere deter you from coming in and sitting down. Your taste buds will thank you soon enough. Some of the best Tempura Shrimp I have ever eaten and their presentation and flavor on their Cucumber and Avocado rolls was wonderful. Next trip will be coming soon so I can try other menu offerings. If you don’t want to drive all the way to RA Sushi at Dos Lagos, this is THE place to come at a much more affordable price point.

Maki Yaki is great! They have a large menu, large portions & great prices. The couple who runs this restaurant are very sweet & provide great customer service. The inside of the restaurant isn’t glamorous & decorated all over, but that’s why I love it, very comfortable. I order 2 rolls, miso soup, & nigiri for $ 16 total! Great price I’d say, without waiting more than 5 minutes for everything to come out. The food is fresh & tastes great, check them out!

I frequent this place a lot, it used to be clean and cool inside. Now it’s hot 89 degrees according to their thermostat, and it had a bad smell inside. Like the place hasn’t been cleaned. Floors are grimy and they have tea dispenser that leaked everywhere yet no one cleaned it up. Hopefully my next visit is better.

Amazing sushi definitely one of the best places around. I walked up and was a little iffy due to it looking like a taco shop. Once I received my order I could see why this place gets such good reviews the portions are very generous and they were beautifully plated. The rolls were delicious and very fresh and I loved all the toppings they give you makes this place very unique.

Another Unilocaler wrote that this place is a «step up from Sushi Boy.» This comment got me nervous, because I can’t stand Sushi Boy. I went ahead and tried Maki Yaki out anyway. I would recommend that you make this your sushi takeout place of choice. This definitely isn’t a romantic eat-in place. Rather, it’s nicely priced sushi for you to grab and eat at home with the family and/or kids. Yet another Unilocaler wrote that you probably want to order your food via phone about 25 minutes in advance on busy Friday nights. I can attest to that. I’ve now been here a few times on a Friday and Saturday — And it gets packed. I’ve ordered rolls, sashimi and sushi. It has all been fresh and good, despite the dreary, depressing location in this part of Corona. And if you’re Korean, then definitely go ahead and speak with the owners in Korean. It’s a hard working family. I’ve seen the wife work the phone, register and kitchen, while the father makes the sushi. Sometimes the son and daughter are on the phone and register as well.

Horrible! If I could give negative stars I would. I came in based off their Unilocal reviews & the sushi is nothing like its described. My rainbow roll was poorly rolled, the avocado was brown, the fish & shrimp were thinly sliced & the roll all together tasted like a ball of mush. My hand roll had two thin pieces of fish & was filled with rice & wrapped in a soggy piece of seaweed. My spicy tuna roll I don’t even want to eat. I’m sorry but whoever wrote these positive reviews were either the owners or people who have never actually had sushi before. Absolutely HORRIBLE!!!
