What happened to Marie Callenders? I used to love eating here. The last few times I’ve been, the food has been mediocre — awful. So sad! They still have great pie, but I won’t be coming for a meal again.

This restaurant is hit or miss. I’ve been there a number of times and been pleased. About every 5th visit I’m truly disappointed. This past fathers day my dad and family went to have a light lunch to get out of the extreme heat until the big family barbecue. It was about 1pm and we were told that they were only serving the buffet. The waitress was embarrassed and very apologetic. The bar side was full but the restaurant was basically empty. I dont understand this place. It used to be one of Corona’s top restaurants.

Friday morning Blueberry muffin tasted like day old not fresh at all. So ask first was my mistake being in a rush.

Went in here not too long ago. Took a while to get seated although the place wasn’t busy. Waited at the table for way too long, considering it wasn’t busy and a few employees were just hanging out doing nothing. Wasn’t given water or asked if we wanted anything to drink. Rather then call for someone to take our order, we decided to just get up and leave, which we did. Someone called us back but we were halfway out the door by then so just left. Lord only knows what the rest of the service or even the food would’ve been like if they were that uncaring initially! We went to another local restaurant(Polly’s, just up the street) where our business, and money, was appreciated from the very moment that we walked in the door. I guess there was either no manager at this place that day, or the manager didn’t care either. I will not be back. People, you need to understand that most folks will not be back if they are not valued as a customer. That’s customer service 101. No wonder the place wasn’t busy.

Where do I start, went there on a Friday night with my wife and granddaughter, first time being here, just moved here from Orange County. My wife ordered the Chicken Pot Pie, she said it was awful, I ordered the all you can eat Salad Bar, most Marie Callender’s Have pasta at the Salad Bar, not this one, when I asked our waitress about them not having pasta, she said the heaters don’t work. That was the only reason I ordered the all you can eat Salad Bar, the Salad Bar itself was terrible. I wasn’t to happy the way dinner turned out, I asked our waitress if I could speak to the manager, when she came over I explained to her how we had a horrible dinner experience, she felt really bad about the bad experience we had, so she said how sorry she was, and told me don’t worry about the check, she would take care of it. I thought that was very cool of her to do that, her name is Amanda, thank you Amanda that was much appreciated, hopefully our next visit will be a much more pleasant experience.

Half the place is your typical sit down restaurant… the other half has more of a sports lounge/bar feel. Like the concept. Stacked shrimp app is very good. Happy Hour app and drinks. I had the cheese ravioli and salad and everything tasted great. Best 6 bucks I spent all day… yes 6 bucks. My fiancé had the shrimp tacos and I had to beleive her when she said they where very good because she at them all without giving me a bite. Will definitely come back to catch a game now that I have discovered that side of the restaurant.

Stopped in for dinner. Dining area was busy so we chose to sit at bar. Manager came, walked by but delivered no menus, 5 min now, bartender comes around ask to take our drink order. We ask if she could also please clean table and she responds,” oh, you sat at a dirty table”. She returns to bar doesn’t come back. Ten minutes now if waiting. Manager walks by again, no menus still. By now we still can’t even get our drinks or menus. Fifteen minutes! Service was horrible! Needless to say, we left and are enjoying our meal and drinks elsewhere. Worse service ever, very disappointed.

Good food but SLOOOOOW service, I don’t know what it is with this company but it seems that every location we visit has slow service, The food and the people are good but when you cant get your customers in and out in less than 2 hours there is something wrong with your service model. We waited for someone to come and seat us for almost 10 minutes, and watched as several other groups just walked past the«please wait to be seated» sign and picked out their own booths, only after we were seated and another group tried this did one of the employees make them go back and wait to be seated. Our waitress was very nice but she disappeared for most of the meal and even getting water refills was a challenge. What was once a very nice restaurant chain seems to be on its way to complete closure unless they change their ways people will stop going here.

Me a my church group came here after Sunday morning church. A group of 15 of us and we only saw our waitress twice, Alex. Once to take the order and the second to bring the food. I finished my meal and still waited another 15 minutes to get refills. Food coming out was extremely slow. Overall: I will NOT come back to the Marie Calendars ever again.

Ate here today on Christmas while we visited my wife’s sister. Only place open in the area. Unfortunately, the food was not good. In fact, my wife and I agreed this was one of the worst meals we’ve had in years. Three prime rib and one salmon dinner all cold with tasteless sides. The only decent thing was the pie. Very unfortunate as a lot of people were spending a lot more than the value returned.

We sat in the bar and had great service from Brooke. Also, they have a great deal right now, a small chicken pot pie, cesar salad, and slice of pie for $ 10.

This review is for their October & February, pie sale only. I think it’s pretty awesome that for the whole month of October & February, they sell all their pies for $ 7.99 plus 80 cents for the pie tin… this is the month that I get to enjoy so many different varieties. My 2 favorites are cherry & banana cream… yummy Anyways this girl is happier /sweeter/kinder/calmer/has more patience /easier to deal with for the whole month of October, all because of this amazing deal!!! My family, friends, and foes thank you very much Marie Callender’s!!! They look forward to February, when you bring back the $ 7.99 pies ;)

Came in to redeem my birthday coupon of $ 5 off any entrée and a free slice of pie… Very nice indeed. Food was fine and service by Jackie was excellent. I had a dinner salad, Alfredo pesto pasta with chicken, and chocolate cream pie for dessert. The only negative to this visit was that there was no hostess to greet me in the lobby area, so I just stood there for a prolonged period of time until I was rescued by a worker from the bakery section. And, the chicken in my pasta was way too overcooked(perhaps the result of using a pre-cooked breast instead of cooking a fresh one to order for the dinner?). Also, there were way too many sun dried tomatoes in the same dish and they were cut way too large. Those suckers are strong tasting and quite chewy, so you need to dice them up very finely to make it a good customer experience.

I have visited this particular Marie Calenders several times since moving to the Corona area. This review is a collective one based on all of my visitors. Cleanliness — I have never visited and seen the dining area, restrooms or lobby dirty. They do a very good job maintaining their restaurant. Menu — the menu is your typical faire, what you would expect at Marie Calenders. The quality is good and presentation is good. The salad bar at times is lacking«freshness» but overall is good. Service — overall service here is hit or miss sometimes it is A+ but sometimes in is subpar. Could not tell you what the requisites are that determines what service you will get but it is what it is right?! I will definitely visit again as prices are reasonable and food is good and you can’t go wrong with Pie!

It smells like bathroom in here. Like weird bathroom. The whole place smells like it. And when you leave your hair smells like it too. The corn bread is good. Don’t order the Cobb salad it’s nasty. I gave it 3 stars bc of the cornbread and soup. But took away a star bc of that nasty smell.

February and October are the months where you’ll see me here often(pie sale month $ 7.99) as the kids absolutely love banana crème pie. Marie Callender’s is known for their pie and it’s just right to have a slice whenever you eat here. From their hearty chicken pot pie and shepherds pie, the warm corn bread served with a sweet creamy butter and their absolutely divine pie selection… it’s all mouth watering. Came here the other day to pick up some chocolate cream pie on sale for $ 7.99 but after seeing the limited edition fresh strawberry pie I ordered that instead. My kids were a little disappointed when I took home the fresh strawberry pie as they’re expecting the usual banana cream… when they saw the strawberries everybody just grabbed their plates and forks and waited for me to slice the pie so they can have a piece. The fresh strawberry pie is available for a limited time and it is absolutely heavenly! The strawberries are huge and drizzled with strawberry sauce topped with whipped cream… it’s not too sweet and you can really taste the freshness. You can also order online and pick it up which I’ve done a couple of times, it’s super quick, easy and very convenient. I highly recommend this place.

Very disappointing. My dad told me about their pie and I always wanted to come. Had to wait more than 5 mins to be seated. Food was bad. I ordered grilled salmon and it was very disappointing. Overall, horrible service. Definitely no second time.

Haven’t been to a Marie Callenders in years and order the meatloaf which was delicious I don’t eat a lot of comfort food but it was worth the Calories. Service was great, food was delivered at reasonable time and I will be back.

Our server Julie was outstanding, couldn’t ask for a better server. We ended up ordering food to take home for the next day and just had the salad bar. The salad items were fresh and a lot to choose from. The taco bar was pretty bad. Also a Major plus KIDSEATFREE.

It’s really sad when any restaurant gets a serious complaint and is so entangled in red tape they cannot resolve it quickly. I used to enjoy eating occasionally at our local Marie Callender. But now it smells like old grease from the minute you walked in the door. If you were pregnant and/or sensitive to smells, you probably would be leaving quickly. It was easy see the source, a large, blackened, greasy carpet that covered the entire dining room floor. After our last meal there, and a really great server BTW, I approached the manager in earnest and told him how offensive the odor was. The manager on duty’s response was wishy-washy, making excuses rather than showing sincere concern. No apology given, he claimed they had recently shampooed the carpet. I left shocked, wondering why they made him a manager. So once I came home, and seriously doubting he would take action, I went directly to their corporate link. Also noting there they were several other reviewers complaining of smells as far back as 8 months earlier, I immediately registered a complaint to Corporate, thinking at least they would be appalled and quick to respond. One month passed. I received a phone call from the same manager, who at least weakly tried to apologize, and his solution was to offer a $ 25 gift card as a good will gesture, probably because he was told to do this. But when I asked if the problem had been fixed, his reply was that it will be now that it is in Corporate hands. «Will» be fixed? Whoa, I know when I notified Corporate, so that answer surprised and disappointed me. That means they were still exposing their guests to the same raunchy smell? And do you really think I will return to use my gift card if the problem is still there? It has been two months now, and I finally received that weak apology of a gift card in the mail, for $ 15, not $ 25. Last night, my son wanted to bring home a banana cream pie. So I offered my gift certificate and decided to tag along to see what, if anything, was done. Findings? In a nutshell, it took a total of 5 employees(but thankfully not that manager) all standing around the cash register trying to untangle a mess a new employee made regarding the cashing in of my gift card. Their first resolution was that I come back the next day to resolve it(because they owed me a small amount of money). I declined that golden opportunity. And it took a total of 30 minutes of my time, watching the equivalent of a 5 Stooges scenario, for what should have been a simple transaction. I ended up with that banana cream pie and another gift card. Arrrrrrrgh. And THECARPETSTILLSMELLED. I am so disgusted. Well, Marie Callender’s, your wheels need to be greased, not the carpet. Your inaction is driving customers away. You should be ashamed of your weak, poorly trained manager and your collective failure to respond quickly to something that offensive. Either close that store down, or get off your A** and fix the problem.
