Swung by for a quick bite and everything was perfect! The rolls I ordered were all delicious and fresh and were displayed beautifully. The service was great and I will definitely be coming back!

Very happy to have found this gem in a Corona. Apparently they’ve been closed and just opened up again, looks like they aren’t done with construction. Sat on a skinny table that looked… unfinished. It looks like they need to finish up, I hope! Food was amazing. Having grown up eating sushi my whole life, I was pleasantly surprised to find a place that served this quality of sushi in Corona. It’s not AYCE and YES, pricey. But you are paying for quality. There are some inconsistencies I didn’t particularly enjoy. The waitress is obviously not a multi tasker, slow but pleasant. Please hire someone who can do this job better! Ricky, if you are going to charge higher prices, the ambiance has to match, along with the service. I will continue to come here for sushi to support a local sushi place that has amazing quality for fish. But you gotta up your game, man!

This truly is my favorite sushi place. I count myself very lucky because I happen to live just down the street, but I would go across town or across the county for this sushi. Admittedly the service is quirky and sometimes it is slow or a little confused, but they are always kind and polite and treat us very well. The main thing is the quality of the sushi. It is obvious they buy the best quality fish available and take pride in what they serve. And no matter what Ricky always treats us to free miso soup, edamame, or dessert, which makes the experience extra special. If you want top quality sushi, this is the place to go.

The R in Ricky is for Rip as in rip you off! I came 500 miles south to spend the weekend with my dad and he told me about this place called Ricky Sushi. We went there on a Saturday night for a special Father Son dinner. 2MISOSOUPS(we didn’t order) 3ROLLSANDTWOICECREAMSWERE $ 52.00 !!! On top of that this sushi was not that good. There are way better Sushi restaurants in Corona that will serve better food at way lower prices. Avoid this place and eat better and cheaper somewhere else!

Ricky’s sushi is by far the best sushi place in Corona or the I.E. area I’ve ever tried!!! It’s pricey but worth the money! It seems like most sushi bars now have turned to all you can eat and everything’s portioned out and pre cut. When you put your order in @ Ricky’s it’s cut from a slab of tuna or whatever’s sushi that you order, its cut from a chunk of fish that melts in your mouth! and that’s a real sushi bar! This place is the bomb! You won’t be disappointed, atmosphere? Not so but very clean but I go there for sushi not for furniture or decorations, Ricky’s rolls, sushi and sashimi not only taste good and absolutely fresh, it’s a work of art! For the experience sushi eater, or the first timer, this place is a must! Sushi doesn’t get any better than this!

I have to say that this establishment is AMAZING!!! We have not been here In a while because of distance and recently returned with new friends because of the lack of good sushi near me. Every time we come we have great service from April and Ricky and the rest of the staff. Sushi is to die for. Please don’t even bother rating this place if you order chicken teriyaki or a California roll. This is not that type of restaurant. If you love uni, tori, ankimo, Kumamoto oysters then this is for you! Super fresh, super yummy and super friendly. We go once a month with our friends and it’s worth the drive and every penny! THANKYOURICKY!!!

Some of the best sushi I have ever had. I go here once a week and I order the sushi combo with spicy tuna and the chefs choice of six pieces of sushi. Because I am a regular they always give extra love by being very artistic with my food or sometimes add in an extra piece of fish. All the fish is fresh. My favorite is the albacore. The customer service is also great here. The girl at the front is always polite and thanks me for continuing to return. There’s not one thing I would change about this place

Rice was overly acidic and undercooked. How do you even? Well… This place was good once… A few years ago… Today I wouldn’t say so much of a nice thing haha. Unfortunately I would never recommend this place, and I did once before. Oooops…

My 3 kids and I were in the mood for sushi, so I sprang for a rare treat with my hard earned dollars. Ok, it’s a Tuesday night at 6pm. There was only one table eating in the whole place. Were were table #2, a party of of 4. Not a busy night at all. Good reviews on Unilocal.Ok, let’s do this! We ordered 3 sushi rolls and some plain grilled chicken for my youngest child. Sushi was delicious. Service was poor. Asked for grilled chicken multiple times for my son. My youngest child is a picky eater and won’t eat sushi, only grilled chicken. It should be an easy order, right? Plain grilled chicken??? It never arrived. After all of the food was served, I asked about the grilled chicken and I was told that they were making the chicken fresh. Huh? What? I hope so! But why is it taking so long? The rest of us were already eating. Then something strange happened a bit later. Both chefs came bolting through the door with items, as if they had just returned from the market next door. I was then informed that there was a new chef and he had burned the grilled chicken. They were trying to make it up to us last minute, but the rest of us had finished eating. I had previously mentioned to our waitress that we were in a bit of a hurry and we had to leave. So, 3 of 4 if us were able to eat. Very disappointed in this place, as we were first time customers. It is a quaint little sushi place, with Christian music playing in the background. I found the place to be pleasant. The sushi was really good, but they just dropped the ball tonight. So, I am giving 2 stars.

I ordered Ricky spicy spicy roll it was pretty good. They start you off with complimentary edamame and then very tasty miso soup. Sashimi is fresh and good quality(a little bit pricy but well worth it) I really do enjoy my dish, Unfortunately the restaurant is small less than 10 tables, not so much selection and pretty slow service. Pretty sure I’ll be back to try different dishes It’s locate in Stater Bros plaza off 91 fwy exit Magnolia

I’ve lived in corona for most of my life and I thought I had tried all of the sushi places in town. Somehow, this place passed under my radar. I didn’t even know the place existed until a couple of weeks ago. Walking into this place, you expect your run-of-the-mill sushi bar that you find out here in the IE. That is, until they bring you your first dish. Then everything changes! I ordered the sea bass first. WOW! Melt in your mouth, delicious and fresh. I can’t remember the last time I had fish that tasted so good. just absolutely mind-blowing. I also got what I believe was the black tiger roll. Also very delicious. After another roll, the chef offered us complimentary white albacore. Again, amazingly fresh, melt in your mouth fish. I have enjoyed sushi for many years, but I’ve never been to a place that is so good that I would be willing to indiscriminately shove raw fish into my mouth until I can’t move anymore. Doesn’t sound very appealing, but this place is so good, I’d do it. Another plus here is that they serve Orion beer. I had never tried it until coming here. It has quickly become a favorite beer of mine. If you live in the area and haven’t discovered this place for yourself yet, try it! If you love sushi, try Ricky Sushi! You have to come here because you will love it!

Teeny little sushi place in a not-so-pretty shopping center in Corona. The sushi was very good and very fresh, but VERY expensive. I can get the same quality elsewhere up the street for a much cheaper price. When we came in the first thing I noticed was a slight scent of cleaning products in the air as well as gospel music, which continued playing through out our stay. There were maybe 2 other small parties seated at tables. We had to wait for one of them to finish so they could clean the table and we could take their spot. The set up was kind of odd as there was a large table at the front with nothing on it but the iHome to play the religious music. As stated, food did not disappoint. It did take awhile to get to us, but we were brought complimentary miso soup as we waited. At the end of the meal we were also given complimentary green tea ice cream. Very nice of them! Overall, I’m glad I checked this place out. Though it will by no means be my new regular sushi joint, I’m glad I have it a try at least. If it were cheaper, I’d probably be more likely to return.

I stopped by this place at about 1:00 today. It is simply fantastic. Here’s why: — The food is amazingly fresh. — Each dish, even«simple» hand rolls, are carefully and artfully crafted. They are as beautiful as they are tasty. — The people are kind, attentive, and delightful. Just go… It’s really good. I know I’ll be back.

My husband and I are AVID sushi eaters. We drive to Orange County once a week just to go to our favorite sushi restaurant. I would love to find a place in Corona to call home. We have gone to most in Corona some we like other, other we always give a second chance. This is the first place we will not be returning to for a second chance(sorry). We really really REALLY wanted to like Ricky Sushi. Really we did. I read Unilocal reviews and they are mixed. But I thought«Hey if the food is good I can deal with Christian rock music.» The Christina rock music didn’t really bug me because it was overpowered my the info commercials on TV. Japanese infomercial loud very loud. I think the atmosphere inside could be classified as… old, dirty and smelly. Dive’ish. Floors were super sticky and the table was gross. The lights… more than ½ were off or out. I was thinking they didn’t want people to see how gross it is in the light. We had the server clean it 2 times. To make it worse we were the only people in the palace so it was not like it was busy and they couldn’t clean the tables. Not really what you want to see in a Sushi restaurant. The overall experience is important. But hey, we came in for the food! I ordered a Ricky Special Roll. My husband got a super burrito type roll. Food looked great but by this time my taste buds are compromised by the bad smell in the place! The chef seems very talented and the food looked delicious but smell really killed it for us. The quality and taste was OK. Not great but just ok. Unfortunately for us not good enough for the smelly dirty atmosphere. Heck, sushi just didn’t taste good. We ate about ½ and our cats got the rest. Prices are NOT inline with what you get. Heck I will pay $ 20. for a roll if it is worth it… the experience, good food, good service, clean establishment. Pros — Staff was super nice!!! — Water cold, soup was hot. Cons –Service was slow but waitress did apologize (remember we are the ONLY2 people in the place?!) — Atmosphere — Over priced — Quality of fish. Sub par for the price. 3 Stars for food and service of waitress. — 4 stars for everything else. On a side note… My husband did get a stomach ache after eating there

I cannot imagine Ricky Sushi being a 1– star restaurant, ever. We have patronized this sushi spot for many years now, and have never been disappointed. In fact, Ricky always exceeds our expectations with his quality, friendliness, and respect. This is why I am updating my review, in response to those who feebly try to use Unilocal to chip away at his specialness. Truthfully, here are less than perfect aspects to eating here. The speed of getting your order is the primary downfall. And yes, there were some glaring issues with the hostess/server who painfully lacked restaurant experience. We who support Ricky know this ahead of time. And if you have read my review, consider yourself informed. When we come here it is because, as in many cultures, we consider our dining experience not only a food fest, but a time for celebration, showing respect, enjoying good company, a time for reflection. Slow and satisfying. And Ricky has steadily made improvements. The latest one being the hiring of additional help, including another sushi chef and server. The place is in tune far better than ever. He is not cheap, and you would not want it so. When you partake in the extraordinary quality of every bite that Ricky lovingly places on your plate, it can take your breath away. We are eating King Neptune’s ambrosia, fresh from the sea, clean, sweet, elegant, so right. His creative sauces, even his salad dressing, taste so much better than any of the competition, and all made by Ricky. His platings are works of art. Take the time to watch him. His careful, masterful assembly is a fascination, the end result is a pleasure to the eye. But placing it in your mouth is the ultimate reward. He is a craftsman. These are the reasons we return again and again. All I can say is, Ricky is so deserving of a 5 star review. The nay sayers are few and far between. Please come and see for yourself.
