Smart Tutoring

SMART Tutoring gets 2 stars. One star, because the owner is friendly and the second, because she was flexible. That being said I would not recommend SMART Tutoring for GRE prep. I had called several places and Aabah the owner came off as very professional, and assured me that she had tutored for the test many many times.
I initially paid $ 700 for 6 2-​hour sessions, which was a really good deal. Well, if it seems to good to be true, it probably is. The first session she had me do basic fractions, because she wasn’t prepared for our meeting and then she said that she would add on an extra session at the end to make up for it.
Things went downhill from there. She had me order Kaplan books, which she herself did not own, and would spend half the time trying to teach herself how to do the math problems. I also found out that while she had tutored for the GRE before she had no idea what the format looked like and had not taken the test herself. She also kept referring me to SAT prep stuff despite the fact that the two test are pretty different. Finally, she agreed to send me practice test and she did, only for a completely different test.
I know the economy is tough and everyone is looking to make a little extra cash, but I was thoroughly disappointed by the lack of professionalism. I’m not sure how much GRE prep she’s doing, but if you’re looking for a tutor I strongly recommend going somewhere else.
