Good food, good beer, good people, what else could you want? Had a great day walking around Coronado and decided to stop here for lunch. We started with the spinach artichoke dip and a flight of beers. I had a pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw and onion rings, and my wife had the carnitas tacos. All food and beer was delicious. The inside of the restaurant was very nice and clean, worth stopping by if you’re ever on Coronado.

I’ve been a huge CBC fan for years and finally got a chance to visit the brewery recently. The 20 plus beers they brew on tap are impressive and they have a really nice rotating selection of seasonal beverages. The food here is defiantly better than your average greasy pub fare. I noticed they are putting the finishing touches on the new dining areas. Overall a great brewery with unique and tasty beers. It can get extremely busy here depending on the time of day, so plan accordingly.

This place is awesome! We came with our 3 year old, and it was nice to see lots of other kiddos around. The basketball games were on, the place had a nice crowd, and you couldn’t even notice if our 3 year raised his voice. (Heaven for parents)
The waitress was SO nice. And super helpful. I ordered the mermaid burger based on her recommendation and it was amazing. It was seriously the bbq sauce I’ve ever had! The side salad was fresh… I am super picky when it comes to lettuce, it has to look extremely fresh or I won’t eat it. The salad was a generous serving and super delicious. My husband got the cod tacos and was raving about them too.

Came to Coronado for the day to visit another do art of the San Diego coast and to head over that amazing bridge. We were all hungry and the menu was appealing for everyone. We were not disapponted tons of house brewed craft beers. Several different kinds including seasonal. The menu had a full range from pizza and calzones to pulled pork and burgers. We ordered the giant pretzel as an appetizer, the mustard was house made with a beer flavor and good amount of spices. We waited about ½ for a table but it was worth it. We got a waitress who knew her menu and beer offerings. My in laws always say go where the people are and this place was hopping. We were lucky enough to dine during happy hour so the drinks wine and several beers were on special as well as the gigantic pretzel appetizer. Definitely worth the stop if in the San Diego area.

This is definitely an underrated hole in the wall. I’ve taken friends and family who don’t even drink and they love the place. The food is far better than expected and everything is good. You can order things basic food like pizza to things like their swordfish sandwich. Love this place!

Blink while walking and you’ll miss this place. Where you would think a hole in the wall bar goes actually houses one of the best breweries in the San Diego area: Coronado Brewing Company.
If you’re coming here during the Spring or Summer months, the place will probably be jammin, so you’ll have to either wait for a table (if you’re tossing down some carbs to go on top of your liquid brunch,) or you’ll have to vulture a couple seats right there at the bar. Because I assume real estate on Coronado is super tight and like $$$$, this location is a bit crammed in the seating and drinking department. So, yeah. Be prepared to wait at least a little bit during the snowbird months. It is very much worth it though.
I’m working from memory and not notes here, but I do remember my favorite beers. The 18^th amendment IIPA is a celebration of all things hops. I’d list out the varietals here, but we’d be here forever. Put I assure you that this furiously hopped monster is not only crisp, but scarily drinkable.
My other favorite, and maybe top of this trip, was Berry the Hatchet. This light purple hefe is a fruit beer for people who don’t know they like fruit beers. Not a fruited sour, but rather a sweet light beer with notes of the skin and purée of the berries that so bravely sacrificed their lives for you to enjoy a beer on a warm Summer afternoon. It’s the ish, man. I’d make an ice cream smoothie with it.
If you’re rolling through SD for beer like I do every year, make a short hop, skip, and a jump on over to Coronado and stop by their neighborhood brewery for a pint or 7.

I love to come here with out of town guest and encourage them to try the flight sample! Always a great selection of brews and when the seasonal beers don’t catch your eye, there regular brews are delicious too.
The food is good as far as American/​bar food/​burgers goes. The service is hit or miss and all the times I’ve been here we were unable to find a spot at the bar. My
I always buy there shirts as Christmas/​birthday gifts because they are a great design and good quality. Always a hit.

The food and beers are pretty good, but nothing amazing. The menu and beer list are both quite big with plenty to choose from.
Worth going to if you’re in Coronado and want some local beers.

I truly love Coronado Brewery, and who wouldn’t appreciate the quality they provide? If for any chance you are «that person», literally turn around and just leave. Man I love this spot, plus the scenery alone is breath taking. Just don’t get to loaded and walk on the Naval base and start screaming A –12 like you were playing Battleship. Now mind you I came in here in late June where they had some seasonal blends they were experimenting with.
What I do appreciate is that Coronado along with some others are slowly making its way over here to the East Coast. This is a great venture they’re about to make, plus I am very pleased to see them in some of the distributors I frequent. I mean the East Coast has some great breweries also, but you’ve got some heavy hitters out here.
What I did take notice is the line up of taps just coming out at you. I won’t lie, it did bring a tear to my eye, a slight trickle, along with the 64 oz growlers they rock out. Yes I typed «64 oz» at a reasonable price you can’t go wrong. It doesn’t get any fresher than this kiddies. What I also enjoyed was the flight I experienced here at Coronado.
A delicious line up I had gone with was an:
Orange Ave Wit, Idiot IPA, Blue Bridge Coffee, Stupid Stout and an Islander. Oh my how I was in heaven. I also went with a pint of a Pomegranate IPA which was pretty good that they had on tap. What also makes this spot a must go is their food.
Now I myself was enjoying my liquid lunch, but I did sample their pretzel that my brotha from anotha had ordered. A Brewmaster pretzel is one ginormous Bavarian pretzel that needs to make its way to your table. All I have to say is this is wood fired with their mustard which is nothing short of perfection. It made for a perfect compliment to any craft you decide to venture off in. What I did also take notice is their menu with the different eye openers they make. I’m telling you their menu looks to be on point, another reason why Coronado is a must visit.
I know I’ll definitely be back for some their dishes, along with a few pints here and there.

It was bleh. We sat at the bar (which was maybe ¼ occupied) and our waitress was not even trying to be friendly or helpful. Service was def a one start at most, food was whatever and décor pretty old. Beer was good, nice variety and loved beer flights. However, due to crappy service I rather take my business to some other brewery.

My boyfriend and I met some of my family members here last Sunday around 3pm for a late lunch. I can’t comment on the hostess because my family had already been seated when my boyfriend and I had arrived so we were able to walk in and find them right away without having to interact with the hostess.
My family already had drinks and appetizers and within a couple of minutes of sitting down the server was already taking mine and my boyfriend’s drink order. We decided on sharing the Garlic Fries ($ 7) and a bowl of Clam Chowder ($ 5) My boyfriend ordered the Baja Chicken Sandwich ($ 12.50) and I ordered the Turkey Club Sandwich ($ 13). When our server asked what dipping sauce we wanted with our Garlic Fries, I asked him what he would suggest and he suggested their spicy ranch and I am so glad I asked for his suggestion because it was awesome with the fries! Our food came out extremely quickly and tasted good. I loved their garlic fries, the clam chowder was delicious and I loved that it came with oyster crackers and some bread. My Club Sandwich was good, but I have had better for a lot less money and the cesar salad that accompanied my sandwich was just okay.
Our server’s name was Trevor and he was by far the best server I have ever had. He was so on top of everything and extremely polite. He seemed to know when the absolute perfect time to check in on us was and when to provide us with refills. The reason this review is five stars is because of the beyond wonderful service Trevor provided us that afternoon. Thanks for the extraordinary service Trevor!!!

I love you, Coronado Brewing Co. I really, really do. You had me at first sip when I visited your brew pub for the first time last year.
Coronado Brewing has some many different beers. There is a beer for everyone! Even my non-​beer drinking friend found a few she enjoyed. Not only do they brew in quantity, but they brew in quality. I don’t know how they do it, but every beer I sipped was great. The Stingray IPA is my new obsession. It is one of the best IPAs I’ve ever had. Word on the street from our bartender is that they’ll start distributing it east soon.
That’s another thing that really impressed me about Coronado Brewing. Their staff really cares. We got to chatting with our bartender and could tell he really cares about their beer, and is a people person to boot. It’s one thing to just make a good beer, but when you have a great staff to support it, that goes above and beyond in my book.
I know there were a bunch of complaints on here about the food. We ordered a bunch of bar food and enjoyed. It was standard/​slightly above standard bar food, but hit the spot with our brews. My group split the pizza tots and the chips/​salsa/​guac. I had the swordfish taco and others in the group at a chicken sandwich & ceviche.
After all, I was there for one thing and one thing alone: the beer. I’d go there even if there was no food. I’d go there if they made me climb a mountain to get there. I’d go there if they made me jump around on one foot before I could get my beer. You get the point. They have great beer.

Order their beers!!! It makes their food taste better lol. A LOT BETTER! Seriously though, you come here for their beer selections. I got the Seacoast Pilsner and it tastes exactly how they described it on the menu which is a good thing, my happiest purchase.
I shared the Garlic tots and Boardwalk Burger with a salad. The most satisfying item was the salad and their house dressing. The tots were dryyyyyyyy and basic. They need to put some sauce on that or just change their toppings to something close to carne asada tots. The burger was dryyyyyy. I had to smoother A1 sauce to make it tasteyyy. I saw a guy eating a thin pizza. In hindsight, the pizza looked like it would have been more enjoyable… but I thought their menu said they only serve calzones? Idk, except for their food is fundamentally basic and meh.
In other words, come, try, and purchase their beers, flights, everything and anything alcoholic. And you won’t be disappointed. (:

Service is impeccable and the food I have had is excellent. The staff is experienced are obviously hand picked by the management.
It is often very busy so if you want to get something to take out, go early. The closer to opening the better.
This place has a party atmosphere as it seems everyone is having a good time!

My gf and I biked here from the mainland by taking the Coronado Ferry. This place is super close to the pier and there is plenty of bicycle parking. There’s racks from the city out front and a bike rack from CBC in the back by the bathrooms. The happy hour ($ 2 off) is a great deal. We had the artichoke dip and the loaded tots. We had to take the tots home because they were super dense and with all the beers we couldn’t finish them. Can’t wait to go back for another happy hour!
p. s. the signs on the wall are corny but funny and amusing.

This place definitely surprised me a little bit, in a good way. Their beer is obviously good, but I enjoyed that they had a good selection of kinds you don’t normally see in the store or at other pubs. I was just expecting typical pub food, but I gotta say I was really pleased with my meal.
I got the swordfish sandwich, which I was a little worried about being bland or something, but it did not lack any flavor. The lemon tartar sauce that came with it was awesome. My boyfriend got the bratwurst burger which is basically a large burger shaped patty that taste like a bratwurst, but if you can wrap your head around that, it was definitely tasty. We also tried the nachos which had chili on them instead of just ground meat, which gave it a unique flavor.
Plus it’s in beautiful Coronado, so even if you have a long wait (which we did), it’s not too big of a deal.

Decided to stop by here after our bike ride around Coronado Island. This is one of the many breweries in SD that I had wanted to try out. Overall the place isn’t that big compared to the other big breweries that I’ve enjoyed going to. We decided to sit at the bar, which isn’t that big either, but managed to find seats. I decided on the beer samples which included 5 of their beers. I really enjoyed the Orange Ave Wit and the Coffee Stout they had. We also ordered some nachos and some onion rings which made perfect pairs for the beer.
The only thing I wish this place had was a bigger patio with a nicer video. Overall, the beer was good, and would come back here again.

I was in San Diego for a work conference and I’m so glad that I took the 10 minute ferry over to Coronado. The brewery is a short, beautiful walk from the landing.
Be prepared for a wait but it’s totally worth it with so many different Coronado beers to choose from in a fun, lively atmosphere. I highly recommend starting with a flight of beers so you can try a variety.
There are better tasting breweries in San Diego than Coronado, but they still make solid beers and the experience here is more fun than some of the others. I didn’t eat here but everyone said the food was really good.
If you like beer, this place is a must visit while you’re in San Diego and I talked to locals that really enjoy it as well. Go.

This brew pub never disappoints! The food is top notch for a place mainly focused on their craft beers. My fiancée and I have been here twice now and both times were great experiences.
The first time I ordered the Black & Bleu Burger with a beer flight of Orange Avenue Wit, Mermaid’s Red, Skull Wrapper IPA, Idiot IPA, and Stupid Stout. The burger was cooked to my liking and the beer exceeded my expectations!
On our second visit last night, we just went for dessert and ordered the turtle caramel pie with CBC’s seasonal Export Stout on the side. I had never realized how well stout beer goes with desserts, and now REALLY want to try that stout float I also saw on the menu!
Service on both visits was helpful, patient & attentive. Definitely a place we will be coming back for additional visits when we’re on the island.
