It was nice that they erected this for those who sacrificed their lives for our country. As in the other post, it was worth the visit since it was free.

Kudos to the San Diego military and the retired folks for having this erected (that’s what she… sorry…stay focused…*serious post) here. I’ve been to the «The Wall» in DC, but at least there’s a mini-​me version here in San Diego.
This mini-​me version is dedicated to the US Navy and Coast Guard personnel who died during the Vietname era. I’m sure the Marines, Army and Air Force have their own thing, but this monument is dedicated just for sailors. It’s worth a visit. It’s FREE, but you do need to get onto Naval Amphibious Base, Coronado. So if you’re a civilian, just get a temporary day pass or something.
It’s a good way to reflect on the lives of those sailors who died between 1960 – 1975. They have a couple of old patrol craft boats out on display. And they have a list of all the sailors who received the MoH and the Silver Star during this era.
So if you’re in the Coronado area, visiting The Hotel Del, or the Coronado Beach, it’s only like a mile south. It’s a way of appreciating those who served and died during a time where the majority of Americans opposed of us getting into that war. Just something to think about.
