Karen Reynolds is one of the most skilled acupuncturists I have ever been to. Her work is effective yet gentle. She did work for my spine which is extremely problematic because of spondylolysthesis. She handled my spine beautifully.
Karen is not only an acupuncturist but is also an RN and published in the field of fertility. She is extremely knowledgable and I would recommend her to you whether you are in Marin County or Sonnoma County.

Karen is an extraordinary practitioner! The sincere feedback from her patients is something I understand well. I came to know and experience Karen’s care many years ago when she was a student of acupuncture. After many years as a cardiac care nurse in intensive care for one of our country’s largest healthcare providers, Karen had grown to see and know there was an alternate path to healthcare for both her patients and herself as a provider. The commitment it takes to step back from a lucrative career as an RN that had achieved professional stature to that of student is a professional decision few of us have the courage to take. This type of decision can only be one that is made in stewardship and service to her patients. Over the years, I have watched and experienced Karen’s growth as a professional into a seasoned acupuncturist and practitioner of alternative medicine and at the same time bring to me and her patients a rich depth of knowledge and practice of allopathic medicine. As I view Karen, her practice of medicine is far beyond a profession — it is her calling in life!

Karen is awesome. She is very professional and knowledgeable. Among other maladies, she helped me recover from a whiplash injury. The treatments not only worked for the injury, but they also were incredibly relaxing. I left her office in a calm and peaceful state, as if I had received a massage. Two for one! She is deeply knowledgeable about Chinese Acupuncture and has been happy to refer me to other people and modalities if she fills I would benefit from them. We are lucky she practices in Marin!

Karen has been one of the best referrals that have come to my attention and I’ve been seeing her for over 5 years. There doesn’t seem to be a physical issue that her unique style can’t assist in healing. Her clinical background combined with her vast knowledge of the body and versatile use of Acupuncture keeps me and many others coming back for that perfect wellness tune up.

I went to see Karen after I got stung by a wasp, to reduce the pain and swelling. She has a great location and a beautiful office. She is very knowledgeable and I was pleased with the results of the acupuncture. The reason I gave her 2 stars is that I don’t like her business practices and feel that she broke my trust by not being upfront about her charges. For that reason I won’t go back to her or recommend her.
She had a Unilocal deal of $ 25 off her first visit, which was advertised as paying only $ 75 instead of $ 100. When I called her she said her rate was actually $ 110. I thought that was reasonable so I made an appointment.
I didn’t get a receipt when I was there but didn’t think anything of it. My first visit was for an acute condition so I didn’t have a consultation with her. When I went back for another appointment she said that it would include a health history intake so the appointment would be longer. She didn’t mention that this visit would cost more than what she had quoted me when I first called her. After this visit I asked her for an invoice and again didn’t get a receipt and she said she’d have to mail me the invoice. When I finally saw the charges I was shocked to see that she charged me $ 230 for the appointment with the consultation. She never mentioned that the charge would be double and there was nothing on her website that mentioned her rates. Her intake was only about 15 minutes so it seemed like an excessive amount of money. I also noticed that I was being charged $ 3 each time I used my credit card. She never mentioned that either. When I asked her about it she said that she posted a note about the credit card charge but I didn’t see it and felt like she should have mentioned it.
I’ve been to other acupuncturists and have never had this happen to me. They were always very upfront about the charges and didn’t charge extra for the consultation or for using a credit card.

Karen has been my go-​to acupuncturist for the past 2 years. She initially treated me for fertility issues (which didn’t last long– was pregnant in 3 months!!) and has subsequently treated me for IBD very successfully. She also treated my son at 4 months old for GERD and reflux and one treatment made a profound difference in his health. Karen is caring, warm and responsive. You can tell she cares deeply for her clients and her profession.

I’ve had my fair share of health struggles, and Karen been part of the process of getting me back on track and back on my feet. I’ve been seeing Karen for the last few years after I had a lupus flare and had just went through some rounds of baby dose chemo. My immune system was compromised and my hormones were out of whack. I found her through Unilocal.
She has been amazingly supportive and has gotten me through some tough times. I initially went to see her to just get my body back to balance. I had already been told by endocrinologists at UCSF that I would not be able to get pregnant. This was likely due to all the chemical treatments I had gone through to stabilize my lupus flares. Anyhow, low and behold… over a year later, I’m miraculously pregnant. Karen was the first to suspect I was pregnant, though I thought I could never get pregnant. She has been treating me throughout my pregnancy to make sure we get through this successfully.
Karen is such a warm person with great energy. This is what I look for when I seek a healer. I always leave her office extremely calm and relaxed after a treatment. Great that she has late evening hours too! I would highly recommend Karen to anyone that needs alternative healing.

I had my first time ever acupuncture treatment with Karen yesterday. I’ve had an unexplained, mystery, random lower back pain for the last 3+ weeks. While it was getting better with time, massage, Epsom salt baths, heat, advil, etc. the first 1.5 weeks the stabbing pain would literally take my breath away and almost bring me to my knees.
Karen really took the time to get as specific as she could with what I was feeling, where, how it progressed throughout the day, and general level of discomfort.
She took the time of course to explain the process in detail to me and also did the cupping to hopefully loosen up my chi and unblock whatever was clogged in my back and muscles!
While I did not fall asleep during the 20 mins. of acupuncture resting, I did experience the slight tingling and electrical impulses that are associated with the treatment in a positive manner.
Although my back is still a bit sore today, I truly do believe that it feels better. On my way home from her treatment I had to sneeze. These last few weeks, I have tried to suppress doing so, because it has been pretty painful. As soon as I felt the sneeze coming on I immediately opted to ‘test’ it and not hold back. No pain. I actually started laughing.
She recommended I not go longer than a week without another treatment if I don’t feel better. I’m going to gauge how I feel… and honestly I may go back regardless. I liked her, I liked her energy, I liked the studio.

I adore her. I am so late in getting around to this review, but I whole heartedly recommend Karen. Highly professional and knows her stuff like no other. So thoughtful that she even mailed us an adorable baby gift after the birth of my son. I wish I could go all the time.

My doctor referred me to Karen for a specific medical issue. I was skeptical that acupuncture would help, but was willing to try it. First of all, I was amazed at how good acupuncture makes you feel. I liken it to a really good massage. I’ve just never felt so relaxed and at peace. It improved my mood, lowered my stress levels, and generally made me feel amazing. I’d like to keep doing it forever! A lot of the credit for this must go to Karen for her skill with the needles, ability to identify what kind of treatment I needed and her soothing manner. Karen also showed a lot of personal interest in me and my situation, and was incredibly supportive and helpful. She also recommended some herbs that I should take in conjunction with my acupuncture treatments. I truly believe the acupuncture and herbs helped me resolve my situation in a positive way. Karen’s positivity and encouragement really helped keep my spirits up throughout the process, as well. I am enormously grateful to her.

I highly recommend Karen if you’re looking for a great acupuncturist. She has treated me for migraines, my thyroid, back pain and chasing away colds. If I go see Karen when I’m experiencing some discomfort, the symptoms seem to dissipate by the end of the day. She is my «miracle worker»! I’m a massage therapist and have also referred several clients to Karen and they all had positive feedback about her work.

I got acupuncture for the very first time yesterday and let me tell you: Karen assured me (and then showed me!) that it could not only be painless, but also incredibly soothing. My upper and lower back were sore and she did a wonderful combination of acupuncture, moxibustion (incense/​lotion) and soothing herbs. I left the office feeling like a whole new person. Needless to say, I’m now sold on acupuncture, Karen Reynolds and Balance Restored!

I truly recommend Karen for acupuncture treatments. I saw her for a couple of years when I was trying to get pregnant. I was doing IVF treatments and was emotionally and physically drained. I looked forward to going to my appointments with Karen because she not only provided acupuncture treatments but she was also very supportive when I really needed it. She would really listen and provide inspiration and motivation, which is exactly what I needed and not getting from my doctors.
She is knowledgeable in both Eastern and Western medicine, which I believe really helps when dealing with someone going through infertility treatments. She was also extremely accommodating with her schedule and would work with me so I could see her weekly. I now have a beautiful, healthy 1 year old girl and I owe that to her support, knowledge and dedication to my care.

Karen is an incredibly gifted acupuncturist. I first went to see Karen to help alleviate my migraines. After years of prescription medication, I needed to find a permanent solution to my migraines as my husband and I wanted to get pregnant and I could not continue the medication. I also turned to Karen, when we decided to get pregnant. After years of making sure I didn’t get pregnant, I figured it wouldn’t hurt to to get some help. After being treated by Karen with both acupuncture and Chinese herbs, I became pregnant within months. Karen is kind, compassionate and has a great sense of humor. I continue to see Karen and every time I leave, I feel incredible and balanced.

I think I first went to see Karen about 2 years ago… I have been to several acupuncturists over the years and I’m a believer in the modality.
Karen has helped me with back pain, neuropathy in my feet and I’m currently working with her to relieve allergy and respiratory problems I’ve had for decades and got tired of dealing with the symptoms with «medicine».
Karen’s nursing background in traditional western medicine helps to understand what I am doing on that end I think gives her approach a more holistic understanding… Karen is patient, understanding and makes you very comfortable… she is a great listener… and above all healer!
