Comcast Service Center

The people in the store located in Corvallis are amazing. They recently remodeled there store, so now there is a lot more room in there for customers. I get helped immediately now, due to the fact they have added staff. The call centers are not as accommodating. Visit the store if you can. The people are great, and will help you if it is in their power to do so.

Too bad negative stars aren’t available. Comcast/​Xfinity always promise more than they are really giving. Not too mention the hidden fees. For instance, home security, I was told that they could take over my my current system which of course they couldn’t. What they could do was set up on top of it by tapping into my my Internet service (which is already barely able to keep up with one computer and phone), and put sensors on my doors and two windows. Sure hope the bad guys use those windows when breaking into my home. Let’s not put a sign in front of the house advertising that I have xfinity security, I suspect that it’s already common knowledge that this particular security system is a crap shoot for the home owner!
The thing is, we all know that comcast doesn’t care that their service is inadequate. Call and tell them that what they’re actually setting up isn’t what was offered; oh yeah, well it’s a good deal though, right?
Is it really a security system if all of the doors and windows aren’t protected?

Inconsistent service through out this company. It doesn’t seem one department knows what the other is doing. Canceled my service June 4^th and even checked to make sure my account was zero. A month later I get a past due notice. Call again and they assure me that I don’t owe anything and they will take care of everything. A month later, got a collection letter. Called again and they said credit was issued on Jul 19. Had to call Comcast again and the rep had no idea what had happened and why.
In total I’ve called 6 times since canceling. Ironically I was contacted by a survey company that was trying to measure customer satisfaction (mine was close to zero) and even though I was told it would only take a few minutes, at 20 min mark, I gave up. The surveyor kept saying «one last question». It got so bad that after 20 minutes or so, I had to hang up.
The whole experience was frustrating.

I have been with representatives at Comcast in Corvallis for over two years now, and I always think it’s good and dandy, and then I get screwed over. The first rep. I had was friendly and willing to help us whenever we needed. He gave me tips on asking for employer ID numbers when I had to call in so that I could report to him anyone that wasn’t helpful. Unfortunately, a few months in he refused to answer my calls. He’d text me and say he’s in a meeting and would call later, but never did.
Last month I tried to call him, and apparently he had been replaced with a new guy named Scott. It would have been nice to get an email or call letting me know that he was replaced so that I had a new contact to get in touch with. but I digress. Scott seemed great too, offering me a much better deal for my monthly services. Once bill time came around though, I didn’t get the deal he promised me. I was still having to pay the same amount as before. Not only that, my Internet services got shut off. I couldn’t access my account at all. So I called him about to see what was up. Instead of calling me back, he texted me saying he can’t help me and that I should call billing.
After calling Comcast support, I was told that they commonly have issues with these representatives. Apparently Scott had set me up with a new account, but neglected to tell me so, which meant I had to pay late fees and overdue bills that I never even knew about. Needless to say, I will not be working with this group of Comcast representatives again.

Tried to sign up for new service. They «no-​showed» two days in a row. We went with satellite instead. I think they are too big to be efficient.

I own a local business in Corvallis and my phone jack was pretty much destroyed. Called and spoke with Comcast who scheduled a technician to come and check it out. Derrek (spl) came out and fixed everything within 15 to 20 minutes. Extremely professional. This happened on a Saturday. Very grateful for the service by Comcast as well as their employee Derrek. Thanks very much!

The friendliest employee at Comcast is the automated voice on the phone.
After a power outage fried my cable box, I tried calling Comcast. A friendly female computer voice asked me a dozen questions and told me nothing in return. I brought the box into the Comcast help center to ask for a new one. They gave me one, told me what to do, no problem. Based on past experiences, I wasn’t expecting good customer service but I was proved wrong this time.
Then I get home, follow their instructions and nothing happened. Calling Comcast is a pain in the neck — unless you like talking to a robot woman — so I figured I’d just go back and tell them that it didn’t work. I get there and talk to a different employee who gives me an I-don’t-wanna-deal-with-you vibe.
He says, «Go home and try it again. If it doesn’t work, bring the box back in and we’ll give you [another] new one. If that one doesn’t work, call and we’ll send some tech support out there. There will be a charge for the tech support though.»
I ask, «What is the number here?»
He says, «We don’t have one.»
«Why not?»
«Because we talk with people face to face.»
I’m thinking, so how would I get tech support if i can’t call you guys to send an employee out?
And …“[we don’t have a phone] because we talk with people face to face,”???
If talking to customers in person was reason enough not to have a phone, 90 percent of companies wouldn’t have phones.
Although he veiled his answer with an air of professionalism, the condescension still got through. In the past, I’ve got a similar vibe of discontent from the employees at the help center. I get a sense that many of them are suffering from a «hate-​my-​job, hate-​my-​life, hate-​you» mentality.
I went back home, tried it again and it worked, but nothing changes the fact that Comcast employees are insufferable.

This Comcast office is TINY, but it gets the job done. If their main waiting room was bigger, I would of added the extra star. They do have an «equipment drop off» box outside which is nice, but I always feel like I want someone to see that I’m retuning their equipment so I go inside and wait. Sometimes the wait time is not very long, and other times I’m glad I have my phone to keep me company. Even arriving at the minute it opens doesn’t really help since other people have the same idea. Staff is very friendly and helpful when it comes to paying your bill. Picking up new or dropping off old equipment. I just wish they had more seating available for waiting customers. I never look forward to going to the office since I know I’ll have to wait, so overall it’s either going to work in your favor or sometimes, I just drive away and come back a different day — hit or miss.

I have to subtract a star for the line, lack of waiting space, stuffiness, and lack of staff to accommodate all these people for Customer Service Center. My supervisor (I guess I can call her that?) needed to install internet at her house since they didn’t have any at all so I told her what I did to get my internet installed and whatnot so i figured it’d be cake. I went with her after lunch so that she’d have some company and feel accomplished.
After about a 15min wait in line Danielle sat down and talked with Denise about getting internet going. Denise was really helpful! Earlier this week Danielle’s roommate called Comcast to get an estimation on how much everything would cost. The salesperson told her $ 100 installation fee and a $ 35/​month for 12 month package. Didn’t sound that reasonable, however, Denise hooked it up with $ 50 installation fee and the $ 19.99/month for the 12 months! High5 for that! My ears perked up when I heard that and I was excited for that house: D
Customer Service was very cooperative, friendly, and informative, a little inefficient but they got the job done right that is for sure.
I must say installing the internet at my apartment was easy since I had the equipment already and just needed the software to register/​activate my account with Comcast. Thumbs up for the customer service rep that helped me over the phone despite her thick accent and for giving me the $ 19.99/month offer ^_^
