I have been a faithful patron of this establishment for over 30 years. I have enjoyed hundreds of meals and pitchers of maggies over the years, with family, friends, and«others». When I heard that greedy s.o.b. Segerstrom wasn’t going to renew their lease, I was quite disappointed to say the least. No worries, I’ll now visit my friends Pepe, Roque, Ophelia and all the rest, at the Bristol Street location. Shame on you Segerstrom!!!

Came here with some classmates after school & had the margaritas they’re yummy by the way. It wasn’t crowded in the bar area so we say there. The waitress was very attentive and nice. Recommended some things for us. We got the chicken quesadilla pretty good, and the nachos good but not amazing(I would get them again). Service was great and place was clean. The one complaint was the bathroom didn’t look too nice needs a little TLC. I noticed they do margarita Monday $ 2 margaritas ! I’ll defiantly be back

I’ve always wondered what’s the different between acapulco and El torito because the food tastes the same and equally as mediocre. The particular location is incredibly spacious. Service is usually very friendly. Food is average. They have some cheap lunch combos.

As i sit at the table here drunk, thinking about how i can pay tribute to this establishment i decide finally after ive been here 20 times and have constantly raved about it… That I need to Unilocal this shit! Id give 10 Stars if i could for The excellent customer service alone! Me and my girl come here quite often for Margarita Mondays, and even if the bomb ass Margaritas werent $ 2(Yes Ridiculously cheap and worth it) We would still come here just for the amazing wait staff they have! We especially like ROCKY he is great! The food is good but i mean im telling you this atmosphere and service is just totally on point & definitley a reason to dine here. Now excuse me while i enjoy my buzz brought to you by this Acapulco… For less then $ 20 mind you. For 2 people! Uhhhh yeah 5 margarits each for $ 20YOURWELCOME!

Great happy hour prices! Most appetizers are half off. Wait staff is super slow. I will be going back for margarita Mondays for sure!

Great drinks. They can’t even fry a shell. Where did they get the taco shells from target? The guacamole is awesome, servers are great but they as Mexicans know they serve complete garbage. The food is a joke.

Used to come here all the time, but never again. They wouldn’t acknowledge me after asking for a server over and over, after 40 minutes left in frustration and will never ever return to this location. I’ve taken many friends to this location, but I will never set foot in this location again. I drove down the street to another one. I was about to pass out because I was so hungry. Go anywhere but here. Nothing but bad customer service.

Horrible for Sunday brunch! Waited in line for tacos for literally 15 minutes. Was meeting a group on a Sunday and was limited to only this place as per their choice. The buffet was horrendous! I will say the staff had a great Service and they deserve more than the one star. They seemed to understand the situation and were very accommodating HOWEVER the Product WAS horrible!

GREATSERVICE! I have been to other Acapulco restaurants but none that have as great of service as this location! I came here for a business social meetup and the wait staff was AMAZING. We had a group of almost 30 and he had a great memory to remember who order what drinks and what food dishes. He along with another waiter were super friendly and when someone in our party asked for another napkin or something, they were quick to deliver. Food is great as usual. Their fajitas or delicious! I also ordered a 4 item combination. Their shredded chicken tacos are super moist and when you add a little of the salsa they serve with the chips, it is AMAZING! The only down side was their dessert. I ordered their chocolate brownie which is served with a scoop of French vanilla ice cream. The brownie was horrible. They should just stick with main dishes!

When I think of places to eat, Acapulco never pops in my head. However, if it’s a Monday night and I’m craving some drinks and Mexican food, this is obviously my place of choice! Seriously, I think it’s well worth my money if I can get 5 margaritas for $ 10. I’m an expensive drunk so thank goodness I’m getting more bang for the buck! You can get it over ice or a slushie. It is not limited in flavors as well, which includes regular, raspberry, pomegranate, mango, coconut-pineapple, and more. The food is decently good and very well priced during happy hour. The tacquitos are my favorite! The service is up and down. Sometimes I don’t get waters until half the time I am there and I don’t see the waiter often. However, I always get chips and salsa delivered right away. When I order margaritas, they always refill within the minute. I swear, they just want to get you to buy more. But hey, I’m not complaining!

I am completely shocked! I love Acapulco. I used to go to the other Costa Mesa location all the time because I lived right next door. I was happy when I found my new apartment because this Acapulco was a 2 minute drive away… I decided to try it for the first time tonight and didn’t even get to taste the food. I placed my order around 9:15 and was told it would be ready around 9:30 — 9:45. I got there at 9:45 and there was no one up front but I understood it was late so I stood around a bit waiting for someone to check in … Nothing… I waited about 10 minutes then went to the bar and the bartender approached me with a pulled look and i told him I was picking up an order, He said we would«let them know» i watched him as he did absolutely nothing, he didn’t go tot he back he didn’t call anyone he just continues doing what he was doing. I waited another 7 minutes then left… after i found something else to eat about 15 minutes later i decided to call to report this to the manager. as soon as they answered and i asked for the manager they hung the phone up. This happened 3 times!!! I finally called and got a different voice and he said«yeah sure» and then transferred me i hear a few clicks then they hung up again! I am shocked i have never had an experience like this before. I love the food and i have always had great service at the OTHER location but this was horrible. I will try to call the manager again tomorrow but who knows they may hang up on me again…

I came here for my birthday a couple weeks ago for margarita Monday. I felt that I could kill 2 birds with one stone. 1. Have awesome food 2. Get drunk for cheap with my girls. Our server was Armando(I remember because that’s also my husbands name) he was so attentive. He kept our margaritas full, and suggested different flavors of margaritas to change it up. We ordered a bunch of different appetizers and stayed there all night. He even brought me a complimentary birthday shot! We had a blast and Armando made sure of that. We’re not waiting for my next birthday, we’re going to make this our spot on Mondays and sit in Armando’s section.

A good Mexican chain restaurant (Rated purely based on my Happy Hour experience) We went there for Happy Hour. which is great because it lasts from 5 to 8pm. I wish they had more choices for it.(They have limited ½ priced apps and discounted drinks) FOOD: it is hard to judge because we only had buffalo wings and nachos. They are all somewhat greasy. If you like it for beer, and get some nasty food with it, this is great for you LOL. Their nachos has a good amount of toppings, so you can actually enjoy, sour creams, guacamole and etc.
I personally liked their buffalo wings. I can’t take spicy food too much, but they wings are not so spicy. When I dipped into ranch dressing, it tasted good. SERVICE: We sat on the bar area, so our bartender was always around us(it was on Wednesday night… so pretty much slow everywhere right?) He constantly came to ask us for more drink.(I guess that how they are trained to do. drinks make money) APPEARANCE: obviously, it has decent Spanish style interior and exterior. Nothing to complain. PARKING: plenty. This place is located in a shopping mall with a lot of parking spaces. Try for happy hour. If you like it, come back and eat more.

I don’t normally think of Acapulco as a dinner choice but lately I have been addicted to their Sunday brunch. It’s very clean and the food is always fresh and the service is usually super friendly. I do however wish to warn those visiting this location to beware of the two things; being seated by a woman named Shantel and being seated at the bar area. Shantal is very cold and rude. Her walking pace to the table she is going to seat you at is so fast, we only found her by following the dust she left behind. She dropped our utensils at the table and nearly knocked me over leaving back to her post without a word. Seating at the bar area is not terrible. The only thing is it’s really loud and ironically it takes forever to get refills on your drinks…

Last time here, the food was average and the service was spotty. It was a rainy weekday afternoon… dead except for us and the three beer imbibing office workers who we heard were all taking the rest of the day off at 3PM. This time a frugal friend and I were here on a Sat. night, and it was lively. Lots of families and off key happy birth day singing. Looked like the middle aged women singles were at the bar looking for a mister at the good bar. Overall this time, the quality of the food was the same — average — but surprisingly, our waiter Edgar, was excellent. We brought in a page full of coupons and he helped us decide which to use based on what we MIGHT order. Most of the time, wait persons esp. on a busy night just politely slide way. But Edgar figured out the cost based on the items we considered. The guy knew the menu and the possible cost. I inquired about his math skills. Turns out, he is a college student studying business but I think he just likes to help people out. . First off, the sodas we ordered took a few minutes to get to us. But after that, he was great with refills and clearing of plates. Food came out in about 15 minutes. I ended up with a 2 item combo($ 12), the crispy beef taco and beef tamale. It came with rice and beans. It wasn’t exactly an explosion of flavor, but with the salsa and hot sauce and pepper, it was good. There was a decent amount of shredded beef that wasn’t super flavorful but it was moist. It was topped with shredded lettuce, small cubes of tomatoes, and cheese. I was too full to get to the tamale, so it’s sitting in my fridge for later. My friend had the burrito gigannte($ 11), fairly standard combo of rice, beans, and meat topped with red or green sauce also with rice and beans. Sodas are about $ 3…and with the coupon we used, the cost went from $ 27 to $ 21. Their coupons saved us six bucks.,.,.about what we gave as a tip. Three star food with five star service. Not bad…

They hot rid of cable. I’ll change it if you get the PAC12 channel. This was always my go to spot for cable. Had to go for the nfl money, I understand but that’s not what I came for. I can’t stay mad at these great fajitas.

A good place to grab a quick lunch. Recently stop in here to pick up a quick bite while visiting a friend in the area. We were seated in the bar patio area. Love the complimentary chips and salsa, always a good way to start a meal. I ordered a 2-item combo with rice and beans. The chile relleno was very tasty, filled with cheesy goodness, and the carnitas taco was good too. Large portions to feed lil piggies like me. Service was efficient, fast, attentive and very sweet. Parking is super easy, clean bathrooms.
