History

Established in 1989.

Active Ride Shop provides the best product and service in the mail order business, but our roots go way beyond that. Since 1989, we have been committed to providing Southern California with the best retail experience possible through our many Southern California retail locations. What we started in a small store in Chino, California, through hard work and dedication to our customers, has expanded throughout Southern California. We have taken these same philosophies to our mail order business across the United States.

Began working at Active Ride Shop in Costa Mesa May of 2007. I was hired on as a sales associate and skate team manager for the shop. I have been shopping at Active Ride Shop since I was 12 years old and because of the experience I was provided as a customer it inspired me to want to work for Active. We hire motivated and enthusiastic people who are eager to help but will also provide a relaxed shopping experience.

Pablo, Pablo, Pablo is amazing. I came in because my skateboard was making a weird noise in the front left wheel.
Pablo looked at my board and I tried it outside then returned so we went through the board tightening all the screws and nuts. I tried the board inside and it seemed fine but after going outside I skated home and it was still not right.
I felt bad returning to bother him so I came back later. He was happy and accepting of me. Him and I went through the board and noticed a tiny spacer on the front truck that was missing.
He told me what it cost. I did not mind paying. I just wanted my skateboard fixed bc I skate everyday.
This man was very patient. He worked with me. I came in during Father’s Day. His customer service was excellent. He told me he was with the company over 3 years and how he wanted to move up. Let me tell you I’ve been an Active customer since I was in high school in Irvine and you had a shop near Woodbridge high school by Albertsons. I have never experienced such great service at a ride shop.
I know how these employees are at these shops. My friends are like them. We would rather be riding.
My philosophy in life is pay now play later and I feel like this gentleman is the same. I hope active corporate sees this and rewards him. He’s an asset.

Very clean and organized retail store! What I was mostly impress on was the workers here and the customer service! Parsia was very attentive, helpful, and professional! Instead of you looking for help, they come to you and make sure you are being helped. If you could remember the employees name you know they are doing a great job. Every time I come here they are always on top of their game. Overall great experience coming here and their sales are amazing.

This place always has a good sale on comfy shoes. Im writing this review because i just got a great pair of chucks for a super affordable price and the sales rep Parsia was friendly and very helpful. The price was right but the service made the sale. Thanks.

Unfortunately this experience took place in Aliso Viejo but as a consumer I am guessing that the «Return Policy: or in better words lack thereof is GARBAGE at this store Why not train and educate your associates to share this prior to subjecting your customers to purchasing your merchandise only to find out you offer «store credit»
I faithfully spent a minimum of $ 1,000 a year at LS&S when it held the location your Aliso Viejo Store now has. I will promise you something. My hair will have to be on fire and I in desperate need of water before I EVER set foot in your store again…

I have never been treated so poorly in a retail store in my entire life. I am absolutely shocked. The manager harassed me by following me around the store and ripping the clothes I was holding out of my hand. She accused me of stealing when my intentions were nothing of the sort and claimed that I was being «sketchy» while trying on sandals in a dressing room with the door WIDE open. I’m pretty sure that if my intentions were to steal I wouldn’t have the door open for everyone to see. I spent a lot of money and should not have been treated like a criminal. She was unnecessarily aggressive and offensive and I will never set foot in that store again. Contacting her supervisor to let him know how unhappy I was with this terrible interaction.
I’d also like to add that this was my second time in the store and the first time I went in the customer service was also terrible (I was trying on shoes and needed a different size and not one employee in the store was attentive). They should have better people supporting their product. Needless to say I do not recommend going into this store.

A friend told about active sport shop I was very impressed with the huge inventory of skating and snowboard apparel. This place has everything u need and more the employees working there are highly educated in all the equipment they sell and they are very friendly too and they even gave me a 10% discount. I would highly recommend this store and I will be back there soon.

Very boring inventory, sold out of most shoe sizes, and when I called and spoke with someone a gentlemen told me that he was 95% sure the shoes I was calling for we’re not in stock but he was going to check for me. Comes back on phone says they have the size I want and will put on hold. I get there the next morning, theyre not on hold or even there at all. When I spoke with the manager she said oh it must be one of our new hires. Wack.
Unfortunately Active still got my business but just at their Irvine location where they actually know what they’re talking about when they pick up the phone and dont waste their customers time driving down for nothing.

I’m a fan, I mean, they got all the pretty cool brands. The selections aren’t that exclusive, but the selections are cool and pretty up to par with the current trends in street wear. I’ll come here if I feel like I want to be cool and buy an overly priced brand t-​shirt that isn’t exclusive because 5 months later I’ll see the exact same shirt at Macy’s for $ 10. I’ll give a four star because the staff is pretty chill and the vibes is laid back, no sales associate breathing down my neck waiting for me to buy something. The staff is cool, the selections are so-​so.

Actually, it’s more like 3.5.
I don’t have many name brands of urban wear I buy, but Stussy is the primary one that’s part of my wardrobe. I like going to places that are close by that would have a good selection of the simple print tees. At another Active location, is where I would get ALL my Stussy gear, mostly tees.
As of late, I haven’t been seeing the large selection that this Active used to have at one time. But that’s the reason why I come in sporadically to check and see what new gear they’ve received.
The staff there, is laid back, but very helpful without hovering or shadowing you to make sure you leave with something. So kudos to them!!!

There are many Active’s around so cali and they all offer different things based on the surrounding area’s and their size. This one is on the small side compared to the Irvine Active so they don’t stock as much stuff. All in all its still a good place to get some good gear.
Most Active’s seem to be more into boutique style clothing then ride shop gear you’d find at a HSS or Jacks, but then again that’s why I like it.
Overall i’m gonna give this one 3 stars just due to its size, making it hard to find good clothing all the time. If you want to take just one trip and find more styles hit up the Active in Irvine off Culver by the Claim Jumper.
