I come here quite often on my lunch breaks and always get a chai latte. It’s pretty grainy but I still like it a lot! Their items are pretty costly but it’s something I’ve come to terms with since working in a luxury shopping center. I’ve gotten one of their paninis once and for it’s expensive price, it wasn’t amazing. I’ll still come back for chai lattes though!

A little oasis in this shopping mall with a nice selection of coffees, sandwiches and desserts. The sandwiches and cheesecakes were absolutely amazing and the coffee was excellent. It was a real oasis in this food desert of a mall and hope they do not change a thing. I highly recommend it!

I really love this coffee bar and for good reason. Their stuff is the real deal! I used to go to this mall as a kid, then I worked there in college, and now as a(semi) adult I still go there and this coffee bar has been in the same spot all this time and still has same level of devoted customers. I don’t like milk-based drinks but their cappuccino is TODIEFOR. So rich and foamy but somehow not MILKY. I dunno how they do it. They also carry amazing biscotties and their crème brûlée is quite good. Sometimes the service can be off. The cashiers can be in a rush and not too patient. They are often packed tho so they just wanna move everyone along. I recommend knowing what you want to order when u get to the front, it keeps everything moving like a well-oiled machine. Oh and try their regular drip coffee, it will most definitely break you off ur chain coffee shop addiction for sure! Unilocal 100 Challenge: 4⁄100

Decent coffee but service is very lacking. Barista was well aware that he wasn’t making coffee based on the order of people in line and didn’t seem to care at all. There are a number of other quality cafes in the mall you can choose from that provide a much better experience.

It’s called espresso café but if that’s what you are after, you will be disappointed. The espresso was watery, bitter, and burning. We didn’t finish them.

This is my new favorite place to get a latte! It was definitely my top 3 lattes I have ever had. Must try.

I come here, order a coffee, sometimes a sandwich or tiramisu, then sit and watch people go buy. Comfortable seating and a decent selection in the small cases. Service is fake friendly and prices are what you would expect for a place like this. The tomato mozarella sandwich was surprisingly good and very flavorful. Toasted for you and it’s HOT so be careful. Tiramisu is very good. Not too sweet, rich but not too dense, and a good balance of cream and moist cake. I order this often. Coffee is good. Never too bitter or burned. Never old. One of the most comfortable places to sit and relax amongst the noise.

Not much to say. Swung by to grab a cup of black coffee for $ 2 and sat there for an hour or two. Nice place to people watch especially during the holidays. Tad pricey, especially their desserts or baked goods.

Hands down the best Italian espresso! Love this place! Prices are great and the desserts are phenomenal. Can’t say enough good things.

Location is great but service and quality of pastries and sandwiches don’t match with their expensive prices.

I’ll definitely go with a strong 3.5. If you don’t want to wait for Starbucks, this is probably the closest alternative. Wait time is a little shorter than Starbucks. Their staff is quick, and they will basically try and get your order ready so that it’s there for you when you pay. They have their small bits of pastries(and, I think, salads and sandwiches), and they have their coffee and cold drinks. Hubby and I have had a few things, but nothing that completely wows us. It’s more on the sweet side, but not unmanageable. No real wow factor, or that their stuff is awesome. It’s mostly convenient and it gets the job done. The prices are a bit atrocious for what you get. And, honestly, my mom-in-law(I love her!) makes MUCH better biscottis than this place. So, it’s something we may go to if we absolutely need a caffeine or sugar-high. It typically is along the way of some of our favorite shops, so it’s not a detour for us. TL;DR: Convenient and gets the job done.

I got coffee here because I didn’t want to go to coffee bean(never gonna get Starbucks) but on second thought, I probably should have. The quality of the coffee is pretty bad, like Starbucks, OR that 4 dollar can of pre-grounded espresso you could get at the market(that might even be better.) Service really sucked! I’m 22 in south coast plaza, so if I were to be in Louis Vuitton and the cashier ignored me and helped everyone else, that’d be understandable. I got a 3 dollar coffee– I got ignored and they took the other customer in line and I was first… It looks like a promising little bar stuff with 4 – 5 grown men that have bad beans and can’t froth milk. I was split between 1 – 2 stars but because it was cheap I give it a two… but you could do a lot better. I’m sure their desserts are good but I’m not going to be back to try it. If you want coffee and see this place, keep walking, there’s others.

The coffee is good, the service is poor. I’ll typically get a caramel macchiato whenever a friend and I are in need of a shop break(well more like browsing haha). It’s also a decent spot to just sit and catch up on life. There’s nothing that stands out with their coffee unless I sprinkle cinnamon on it which isn’t saying much. What really needs improvement is their service or lack thereof. I’ve never heard them say«how are you?» «Hello» or «thank you»… And they always seem super bitter as if they hate their job. Sorry pal, you are working in south coast — clientele isn’t the talkative type to employees unless they’re asking for a shoe size or trying something on. Even around Christmas, when everything is decorated, you are all wearing Santa hats with the grouchiest look on your face. A little smile goes a long way.

a small shop along the mall… just a counter station… slightly rushed to make a choice… order of an iced coffee $ 3.75…fast and efficient workers… taking orders and preparing drinks efficiently… taking the coffee and finding pleasant… iced, refreshing and tasty… low acidity and easy to drink…

My friend and I ordered a large vanilla latte with almond milk and when we got it it was more like a coffee with heated milk. So disappointed! Not a latte. So watery. Don’t know why they are still in business. First and last time I order coffee here!

I like their double shot short pull espresso(aka doppio ristretto). Compared to Starbucks it is a 5 stars place. I gave it 4 stars because I expected I’ll have nice porcelain espresso cup and a glass of water, not a togo cup and a togo paper bag. Conclusion: it’s a nice place if you are already in the south coast plaza.

Being so keen on any fine European-esque establishments, I find Antonello Espresso Bar makes the cut to a comfortable extent. I think that if any business can have me reminisce of coffee bars in Europe then I will always be a loyal client. There is not a day that I have not seen a line of eager consumers at Antonello. Their coffee blends are sub par and I am quite a fan, and their pastry selections are equivalent to a typical European coffee bar. Although my favourite quality of Antonello is not the coffee bar or the sweets itself, but I find myself enjoying the dining atmosphere along with their closely modeled outdoor café. I highly suggest embracing the aura if possible; I always feel like I am right in the heart of a busy piazza in Italy x

In a recent trip to South Coast Plaza, I stumbled across this little espresso bar sitting smack dab in the middle of the mall after a failed attempt at visiting the Starbucks(which was insanely busy). As I am not a fan of coffee itself, I quickly looked over the menu to see what blended drinks were available and saw that they had mocha, white mocha and others. As quickly as I found what I was looking for I was asked for my order. I placed an order for a medium sized Vanilla Mocha blended and the barista quickly jumped into the order. The first thing I noticed about this place besides being just a small counter was how blazing fast the workers here are. Everything from the order taking to the payment to the making of the drink was like rapid fire. They had about 6 people behind the small counter squeezing past each other to complete their respective orders without ever losing the focus on the customers which is a real testament to them(there are many places that could learn something from the service here). I have seen several reviews from others saying that the service was unhelpful and unattentive to the customers but I saw none of this during my visit. The drink was reasonably priced and honestly one of the best blended vanilla mocha drinks I have had. This place truly is a gem hidden away in a mall that I do not visit very often but will definitely be visiting again the next time I am here. The line for the place tends to get very long but with the rapid fire workers it won’t take you long to reach the front. Besides the drinks they also offer a good selection of pastries, sandwiches, paninis and other small eats. It is the perfect place for a quick pick me up during your busy day of shopping or window shopping if you’re like me and can’t afford South Coast prices. I am so glad that the Starbucks in the mall was busy as if it wasn’t I never would have thought twice to even stop in and give this place a try. I am now a fan and will have to get back here soon so my wife can also sample the drinks as I know how much she enjoys them and I really think she would enjoy this place. If the espresso bar is any indication of the service provided at the Restaurant, I will definitely need to make a special trip over there as well.

A definite disappointment as I adore Antonello’s Restaurant. Antonello Espresso Bar is smack-dab in the middle, 2nd floor, of South Coast Plaza, serving extremely expensive espresso beverages, among other things. I had an iced mocha, and it was over $ 5.00!!! It was so not worth the price. My drink tasted like chocolate milk, with a bit of coffee or espresso and canned Readi Whipped Cream. A big hit on the wallet and a big disappointment in the taste department. I also found staff to be unfriendly and their clientele to be rude and«boarish», ready to jump in front of you to get ahead of the line. Perhaps this is the spot where snobs deign to drink their beverages and people watch in the chairs and tables provided. Unimpressed and will not be back. I will keep a bit of my hard earned money and head to eBar or Starbucks or Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf.

Located next to Coach is this little espresso shop. My Stephen and I sat down for a coffee break, and I had him get me a brewed coffee. Hmm, for«coffee» place, their coffee tasted more like tea. *WEAK*!! It wasn’t very strong, and I had to add cinnamon and cocoa to make it tolerable to drink. I guess they’re an Espresso bar, not a coffee place… and it’ll have to be an Americano, not a wimpy«american» coffee.
