The Arthur Murray Costa Mesa team believes in the value of community and because of that, it feels like you are part of a family the minute you walk through the door. I started dancing because I always wanted to learn and never had the courage to step up and try. My first lesson I was shaking so badly I wasn’t really sure whether I was going to get through it. Sean was so kind and encouraging that I have been dancing for a little over four months now! I’ve graduated from «kindergarten» with Sean, and my new instructor is John and I am so very blessed to have the privilege of being taught by such great people. EVERY instructor is knowledgeable, caring, and disciplined about ensuring students are learning sound fundamentals to build upon in a way that encourages instead of demeans and there is no discrimination of ANY kind — including body type or age — so don’t be intimidated to try!

Arthur Murray is fantastic. My wife and I came in for dance lessons prior to our wedding. We started with the two 1 hour dances for $ 35 with the coupon and ended up buying 4 more private lessons. Our instructor Sean is the man. He did a great job assessing our skill level and coordinated a routine that was appropriate but also pushed our limits. The dance came out fantastic. I would definitely recommend Arthur Murray whether you’re trying to learn a routine for your wedding or simply looking to take a few lessons to learn one of the classic dances. They also have affordable group lessons. Ask for Sean when you go in.

This dance studio is spectacular for first time dancers like my boyfriend and I. We were nervous the first time we came in, but that quickly changed when the friendly, energetic staff made us feel comfortable and right at home. Shaun, our instructor, was awesome and made us laugh and have a good time. He was also very professional and we learned a lot in a short amount of time. Definitely recommend!

My fiancée and I chose Arthur Murray dance studio in Costa Mesa after deciding we should probably learn how to dance for our wedding!
We initially only purchased a two lesson deal but ended up going back a few more times to nail it down. Sean was our instructor and he designed a custom dance routine for us based on the wedding song that we picked.
We were both pretty nervous initially but after a couple of weeks of practice got the hang of it. Sean even invited us back one night right before our wedding so that we could practice our routine in front of all of the other people at the studio that night. It helped us so much to be able to perform this first in front of others before our wedding.
Needless to say, the wedding dance went off without a hitch and everyone was impressed by what we put together on the big night. Thanks to Sean for taking the time (and patience) on us so that we could have our first dance together.

Arthur Murray is amazing!!! My husband and I took lessons here for our wedding and I have absolutely no complaints and tons of compliments. They made us feel right at home, especially my husband. He was very nervous about dancing and after the very first lesson he admitted that he had a lot of fun. We had private lessons, cut our music, and choreographed our hole dance. After the wedding, we were told by numerous people how amazing our dance was. Altogether, A+ for Arthur Murray.

Learning to dance was something I always wanted to try at least once. I came to try out a few dances I thought looked fun like Salsa and Tango. After a few lessons, I was hooked (much like the review preceding mine) and began to also explore a other dances like the Rumba and Swing. Arthur Murray’s system makes it so easy to transition between different dances.
I was never very good with rhythm and never thought in a million years I could actually do it… until I met Kathleen. She’s everything you’d want in a teacher. She’s patient, clear, and has a plethora of analogies so that anyone can understand. And you can bet that she knows her stuff. But best of all, she’s so incredibly easy to get along with and it’s impossible not to like her.
The Arthur Murray dance system seems a bit much, but is actually a worthwhile way to learn. You’ll get a mix of group lessons (to learn basic steps), private lessons (to develop good habits, style, and iron out the kinks), and practice «parties» (to practice dancing with different people in a social setting). It’s just like playing a sport… you have group practice, individual coaching, and practice matches.
Some may initially be discouraged by the price, but do yourself a favor and give it a try. You get so much more than you pay for, and the first two trial private lessons are $ 35 (total) as of writing this.

I LOVE THIS PLACE! I fell inlove with it the moment I stepped in the studio for the very first time. The staff is GREAT. They are very energetic, friendly, enthusiastic, supportive, knowledgeable, hard working, etc. It’s a great place to learn ballroom dancing, socialize and just have fun.

I started taking dance lesson at the Arthur Murray Dance Studio when I was 16 {i am 25 now} and I originally starting taking lesson because i wanted to learn to Swing Dance.
After the 1^st few lessons going over the basics I was hooked and signed up for a full program with most of the Social Dances like Tango, Waltz, Rumba, Salsa, ChaCha and of course SWING and a few more!!!
The Arthur Murray System is THE BEST if you are looking to learn to socially go out and dance. Although i havent had a lesson in years I still remember everything I learned and the best part is that once you learn the steps you also learn to lead {if your a guy} and follow {if your a girl} so you can go out and dance with anyone anywhere!!!

I worked for Unique and the franchise owners for 8 years in the Costa Mesa location. I have a tattoo and have had fellow staff members who have had many tattoos (one even had 2 full sleeves and about 10 tattoos in addition to the sleeves). We were NEVER discriminated against for it. This studio was an amazing place to work and if I hadn’t had to move I would still be there. All of the teachers at the location are super knowledgable and very fun. Unique is the most professional manager I have ever had the privilege of working with and always does her best to make sure everyone has a great experience with the studio. It sounds to me like there was some miscommunication with poster Stephanie, but if you are interested in a carreer in the dance business I would highly recommend this studio!

My wife and I have taken lessons at this studio for most of the past 3 years. It started with my wife buying me a package of 8 lessons and I got hooked. The system is rigorous and focused an all elemnents: learning the steps, frame, posture, dancing to the music, style. The staff is very qualified, unrelentlessly cheerful and encouraging. There are other, cheaper ways of learning how to dance, but none will take you as far as Arthur Murray.
