I can’t say enough good things about this salon! I just moved to the area and wanted to find a great salon and I was so impressed! Kristy was amazing — I was totally unhappy with my blond hair color and wanted to try something new. I showed her a few pictures that I liked and she just got it. I felt completely comfortable as she talked through what she was going to do. I left so happy with the end result! The salon is stylish but not too stuffy — all the employees were really nice and it was just such a nice experience. I’m excited to go back for my next appointment and would recommend this place a million times over!

I’ve had some good experiences with hair, I’ve had some pretty bad experiences with my hair. I have very «Asian» hair, really dark, and when it lightens up, it turns very brassy and orangey, not what I want at all. After the most recent disaster, I came to Unilocal looking for my savior… Blanc Noir showed up with a gleaming 5 star rating, so definitely had to check it out. Called hoping to book an appointment ASAP, only to find out that their colorists get booked at least two weeks in advance (and now I know why)!
For all first timers who want coloring, they require a free consultation, and then you go from there. My consultation was with Kelli, and I was able to book one the day I called.
Consultation: Told Kelli all my issues and she completely understood what I was talking about and told me that she could solve them. I wanted a cooler (blue-​r toned) ashy brown balayage, and absolutely no brass. She told me she would try to get my as light as possible the first round and no brass, but it would take a couple rounds to get it even lighter. Usually I’m skeptical, but I believed her… kinda. Obviously still had my doubts, but what could I do at that point. After the consultation, I booked an appointment for 2 weeks after.
Appointment: Showed up and Kelli was ready to tackle my hair! We did a refresher on what I wanted, and she was super excited! After 4 – 5 hours, my hair came out absolutely perfect! I was pretty much nervous the whole time, but when she started blow drying it, I was speechless and obsessed! I am genuinely in love with my hair and how it came out. There is absolutely no brass and it came out way better than I hoped!
This is truly a place where the artists take care and listen to their clients. They won’t promise you empty promises — if they aren’t comfortable doing it, they will let you know. I definitely recommend Blanc Noir, especially Kelli! She works magic.

Johnny and Abel are true artists! My highlights always look great and natural with just the right pop of blonde. Abel was my savior recently after I had an impulsive visit to a different salon where my hair was hacked into with abandon. Abel worked his magic and re-​shaped my hair into a cute short haircut. I have been getting my hair colored by Jonnie for more than 2 years. He is an excellent colorist and I would not think of going to anyone else. I have blonde hair and get full highlights every 10 – 12 weeks. I like a natural look. My color always looks fabulous. Cheers

I don’t know why it’s taken me so long to write a review about Blanc Noir. I’ve been coming here for about 1 year after a long search for a new salon. Johnny and Abel are masters of their craft. Johnny is not only a pleasure to chat with while he’s doing your color, he always delivers exactly what you ask for. Abel is an artist. He takes his time cutting your hair, listens to what you want, and is so detail oriented. I love them both! You won’t be disappointed coming here!
Other notes:
*The receptionist is very sweet, welcoming, and takes good care of you.
*Very cozy atmosphere
*The parking lot is very small. More often than not, you’ll have to park on the street.

I came here for my first balayage with Cynthia back in August 2015. I have had dark brown hair all my life so the fact that I even made an appointment here was a huge step for me lol. I was too afraid to have anything drastic done so I asked for a subtle balayage and I loved it. I came back last month and went even lighter. Abel gave me a cut and style. And again, I loved it just as much as I did the first time.
The people here know what they’re doing so you’ll be in good hands.

In addition to having previously used Abel for a cut, I was fortunate enough to book color with Jonnie several months back for highlights after having a very hard time finding a colorist who I loved enough to stay steady with. Needless to say, I am never gonna have to find another colorist again!!! Jonnie is a genius when it comes to color and he works wonders on your hair. He has kept my highlights in check with his bayalage technique and has most recently turned my caramel highlights to a more sandy/​natural blonde tone. I honestly didn’t think my hair would lift this light but Jonnie proved to me he can do anything right!

I have known Jonnie for over ten years now. I am one of his oldest clients. I have been every color of the spectrum– black, brown, orange, blonde, purple, pink; you name it, I’ve had it. Trendsetting color, top notch product knowledge on the latest color techniques across the nation– come to Blanc Noir. Jonnie is a fashion guru and a God of color. Whatever you want, he will take you there. May take a couple times, but I promise you it is worth the wait.
Now Abel– from extensions to trims, from bobs to shaved sides, from shaggy bangs to the most perfectly trimmed blunt bangs, I have had it all. Whatever I have asked of him, he executes so precisely and effortlessly. Never have I seen him product heavy nor give me a style more than I can handle. He truly is a teacher and helps make sure you can re-​create the style to the T.
Staff– Carissa, Tyler, and Lauren are amazing. They will make sure you are always comfortable and offer booking all my appointments in advance. Kelli does amazing work. Kellen amazing extensions. Cynthia has also colored my hair and it always is beautiful.
This is the only salon i would recommend in the Orange County area. The dynamic, flow, and overall ambience is beautiful.
Lastly, in regards to the Unilocaler, Ann Lee, I am shocked by your review; I cannot relate to any of your experiences or opinions of the salon or staff. Good luck in finding someone that meets your standards; I’ve found mine, and that’s the staff of Blanc Noir Hair.

I found Jonathan & Abel about two months before their salon opened and have been going ever since. Jonathan is a master colorist and beyond talented at what he does. I love the co, or and often get compliments on how pretty the color is, people don’t even realize I color my hair.
Abel is also beyond talented on cuts. He looks at the shape of your face and customs a cut to flatter you. I also receive compliments on how great my cut is and how good it looks n me.
Also, these are the nicest two guys you will ever meet, I adore them. I look forward to seeing them every month.
The customer service is unlike anything I have ever received in another salon. They hire the right people who provide amazing customer service. Their is pride in working at this salon and it shows, the business is professional but you also get personal customer service.
The ambience is beautiful, very warm and inviting. I’ve been to numerous salons In Orange County and none of them come close to this salon in regards to cuts, color and customer service. The best salon in Orange County.

I have been getting my hair done at Blanc Noir for over a year now and I’ve never been happier with my hair! I have gone from long to short, back to growing out and Abel knows exactly what works for me. Not only does he give great hair cuts, he can style your hair amazingly and leaves you looking great and feeling confident!
As for color, they earn their title of Best Hair Color in OC! I have gotten my hair color done by both Jonnie and Cynthia and I cannot say enough great things about them. Blanc Noir is truly a salon with incredible talented individuals and you cannot go wrong with anyone there! Prior to going to Blanc Noir I seriously had anxiety about getting my hair done. Now I look forward to going to the salon because I know they will do an amazing job!

I couldn’t be happier with my experience at Blanc Noir. I had an appointment with Kellen who was absolutely amazing. I really appreciated that he took the time to understand what I wanted and to go through the pictures I had brought in.
I came in with long hair that was half way down my back and left with a fabulous shoulder length lob.
My hair is naturally wavy, but my waves are usually all over the place. Kellen expertly cut my hair in such way that now my waves actually behave. Now, I dab a little bit of curl gel in the mornings and let my hair air dry and it looks pretty good!
I’m very happy I found this place and I will definitely be going back! :)

Had my haircut with kristy who was so friendly and great to talk to she did a wonderful job in my hair i’ve showed her a picture of what i want and she also recommended what best for me, i was expecting to do my hair coloring here but they were all booked month ahead :(

I wouldnt go anywhere else for a hair service. The colorist here took my hair to a healthy light blonde from it’s natural dark brown & are always ahead of the curve with style, product & technique. I get regular Brazilian blow outs from them & enjoy time spent in the incredibly chic salon. They are truly professionals but care so much about their clients & put so much love into their work. I love this place, I feel like family here and love my hair, worth every penny. I leave feeling ready for a vogue shoot.

Appointment at 12 and came earlier. Took me like 20 minutes before and finish over 1 hour after.
KRISTI cut my hairs.
She was very nice ! Listening at our request and what I was looking for. Nice seats also. Clean service.
She washed my hairs smoothly, for cut it was also really nice.
The washed my hairs a second time at the end, for don’t have all the hairs everywhere. Finally, a warm towel on my face… Perfect relax ! For me they merit a 4.5÷5.
Indeed, they have for me two little bad spots: the price (they say 35 $ and up on the website) and we have to pay 60 $. Then, the music is loud, I had some hard time to hear what KRISTI says. Otherwise, we are close to the perfection.

Just updating my review for Blanc Noir. I have been a satisfied customer for the past few years and I am never disappointed, I always leave feeling and looking amazing. I am not the type to schedule an appointment in a salon somewhere in LA/​Beverly Hills area. No need to go there! This place is a GEM. It is in a little spot in Costa Mesa next to a popular diner next to the CAMP.
It’s like when you are looking for a good place to eat. Foodies will know that some of the best places to eat are always tucked away, not too showy, hidden amongst several other businesses claiming to have, or be the best. Blanc Noir is just like that. If you were in the area you might not notice it, or it might be difficult to find, but when you make an appointment and get your hair done you have had the best of the best. After my first time there I knew I’d never go anywhere else!
The customer service is second to none, and the talent amongst the staff there is the best you can get, no question! I was very pleased that Johnnie and his staff are well trained and have years of experience. No matter who you schedule your appointment with everyone works well with their customers to listen to their needs and achieve the look they want.
I normally go to Jonnie to get Balayage, but my most recent appointment was with Cynthia to change things up a bit and try Ombré. The salon specializes in a «soft» Ombré look or «Sombre» which gives a soft and natural look that does not contrast as strongly as the regular Ombré look. I didn’t want to see such a drastic difference in my hair. After consulting with Cynthia she talked about the techniques she would be using and customized my new color to my liking.
I then got my hair cut by Kristy. Shout out to her for always doing a fabulous job on my hair. I cut my hair shorter than normal, into a bob style, and she was very precise and attentive while cutting my hair. I was hesitant at first to go so short but I couldn’t get over the gorgeous photos on Instagram of clients who had cut their hair.
When I was finished, I was thrilled! Cynthia and Kristy gave me the exact look I wanted! The coloring of my hair and the placement of the highlights worked so well with my complexion. Cynthia is an amazing colorist! Kirsty’s hair cut she gave me a new liking for short hair! I never knew my hair could look this good!

I usually get my hair done by Jonnie… He’s amazing! His Balayage technique is worthy of some serious praise. I have ugly medium brown hair naturally and he is able to make me a gorgeous strawberry blonde that looks so natural, I can go months with out a touch up. This is ideal for me because I am a part-​time mom and business owner that needs low upkeep. Cynthia has stepped in twice to cover for Jonnie when I couldn’t get in to see him and her color is equally outstanding!
Abel cuts my hair to perfection and gives the most amazing shampoo. I’d pay just to have my hair washed by him any day! His blowouts are right on point and if you are so inclined to ask for more you won’t be disappointed.
The hair care they offer is superior to anything else I’ve purchased at other establishments. The Kevin Murphy Anti-​Gravity gel and spray along with the Oribe Texturizing Spray are my favorites. The smell alone on the Oribe products is intoxicating!
Overall, the salon is clean, organized and the staff always makes you feel like a million dollars. Lots of hugs and kisses to this crew!

I go to Jonathan who took my hair (which was previously platinum then dyed super dark so we all know that creates problems) and took me very slowly back to blonde. I was patient and the whole process took about a year because we didn’t want my hair to break off by lightening it too quickly.
He’s basically the master, teaches balayage for L’oreal and works my natural color in so my roots grow out looking sometimes better than when I first get my hair done which says a lot. I used to suffer from skunky roots when I was a «highlighted blonde» before which drove me insane. Confident in saying that my hair looked really natural and pretty every step of the transition from dark dark brown to blonde.
Also, their blowouts are INCREDIBLE. I actually can’t go back to crap blowdry bars now because their work is so shoddy in comparison to the beautiful blowout I get here every time.
You get what you pay for.
