We Have a wonderful array of gently used books. We carry mainstream mystery, suspense, thriller, horror and action adventure novels by authors such as Clive Cussler, Dean Koontz and James Patterson.

We carry classics such as Shakespeare and Voltaire and contemporary literature by Lianne Moriarty and Margaret Atwood to name a few.

We are building up our Young Adult section. We have non-​fiction: Biographies, Self-​help and History.

We also have a large selection of old and new romance novels, something for everyone!

We also order select New Releases of the current best sellers along with CDs and DVDs.

History

Established in 1987.

Books on Broadway is a relatively new name for the bookstore. For years, it was a romance novel store called New and Recycled Romances.

Founder Toni Bruner got the idea after realizing she had accumulated about 2,500 paperbacks. She was, she said, «addicted» to romance novels, so in 1987, she opened New and Recycled Romances using her own collection as inventory In 2012,

Bruner sold the store to Sharon Patch, a Costa Mesa resident, and Flora Schoonover, who lives in Santa Ana. They renamed it New and Recycled Reads and eventually Books on Broadway.

They’ve also diversified the inventory. The store now offers far more genres than just romance — though plenty of those titles are still available.
