Enjoyed the food and also left with a bag of baked yummy treats like raspberry almond croissant and cookies. The food is decent– ambience is nice– outdoor seating with good people watching and they also allow dogs!!!

I have been coming here for a really long time. Pretty sure I remember coming here back in high school. I always get the tuna salad because it comes with a huge salad AND they put a hard boiled egg on it. It really is a lot of food for ten bucks. Sitting on the bridge is also just really nice. The location of this Champagne’s makes it preferable to the other location located inside of the mall. I felt motivated to leave a review because our service was just so good. It was great on the inside, prompt and courteous, despite there being a bit of a line. Our food came within 15 minutes and our waiter was very friendly. He made sure we had everything we needed and came back to check on us after awhile. My boyfriend and I split a large iced coffee and he refilled that for us for no cost at the end of the meal and we were able to take it with us! Very nice little bonus.

I was wanting to dodge the worst of the traffic that kicked off around 4pm, so I turned off at Bristol and remembered, ages ago, when I lived in SoCal, that there was a café by a water feature and a bridge at SCP. It’s still there, thankfully, and it was a peaceful place for me to write, uninterrupted — the coffees and pastries were way too oversized to remind me of home, but the guy was nice enough to make me something half the size of their smallest coffee cup, and he didn’t bother me at all as I sat outside and wrote for 3 hours. It’s the least retailey part of a mall that tries really hard not to be just a mall, and if it doesn’t distract you too much, the people watching at this juncture is fun too.

This one is for the books. Purchased crêpes cookie and two coffees came out to $ 17 I handed her $ 20 she had an issue with the cash register the till wouldn’t open she had to call a manager over to fix the problem Manager fix the problem I got my change I got my number I went to sit down 25 the 30 minutes later my meal didn’t arrive I went and asked him where my meal was they said they had no record of my purchase I spoke to the same manager that help the cashier out earlier she’s like I don’t remember about your transaction so I stopped one of the busboys and he told me where is your receipt I said I never got one he said what was the order I said I need my crêpes and cookie. so he finally brought the crêpes out handed it to me then I waked it over to my table my wife took one bite out of it it was ice cold. Went back to the manager she did apologize she did ask me if wanted anything meal wise or cookie wise and I said no I just want my money back and she gave me my money back. the entire experience was awful that’s the first and last time I’ll ever eat there again. Thank you for ruining today’s breakfast for us.

There’s actually two Champagne French Bakery locations in South Coast Plaza, but this one is the smaller location near the bridge. I always come here for the Jesuit pastry, which consists of flaky phyllo dough, almonds, meringue, custard, and comes with powdered sugar on top. It’s sooo good! Occasionally, I’ll try to be healthier, so I’ll order the almond flaxseed muffin, which is really similar to a poppyseed muffin, but tastes much lighter. Their coffee isn’t bad and their lemonade is also pretty good, though more on the tart side. They also sell bagged treats of meringues, cookies, etc. that you can purchase to go. I honestly don’t think you can really go wrong with any of their pastries and this location is a great place to take a break from shopping! Prices can be a bit high, but I guess that’s to be expected, considering the type of population this upscale mall is catered to.

Did you know they use margarine(aka hydrogenated oil or «trans-fat») in their breads and pastries? That’s so unhealthy and i can believe there are still some companies out there that don’t care about consumer health. It’s so unfortunate because I would have liked to continue eating there. The staff is great and the place looks cool. I just can’t get over this ingredient being used in some of their menu items.

This place is very friendly. I love the staff plus the waitress that served me was amazing. Ana is one hard worker. She will give you a full on customer service. The food here is great I love the chicken pesto. White peach ice tea is amazing and I recommend you try it!

This place has a prime location, and yet the quality of their food items is just mediocre. The coffee is less than mediocre, they do not even know what Macchiato is and instead you get a cappuccino if you ask for a Macchiato. But of course the first time you order a Macchiato you get a caramel Macchiato.

Brunch for 2 on Sunday. [ Sandwiches ] Both came with potato salad which was pretty good! GARLICCHICKENPANINI: Really delicious! Very juicy and really rich in the taste! The chicken was thin sliced. Very fresh. Wish the stuffing was more. It wasn’t really filling, but overall it tasted great! Price: $ 9.35 CHICKENCURRYCROISSANT: Big chunks of chicken in cube shape with curry. The curry and croissant went super good together. Never had curry with croissant before, but you’ll really love this! Price: $ 8.95 [ Drinks ] ICEDCOFFEE: This they make and hand it to you right after your order, but hot coffee is self service. They have three types; decaf, light roast, and dark roast. You have variety of choice and free refill if you need more! Price: $ 2.65 REALFRESHLEMONADE: This is already made and handed to you right away. Very strong and fresh lemon taste! I love the sourness, but don’t like it too sweet. This was just perfect! It wasn’t too sweet, but just about right to get refreshed! Yum! Good price too! Price: $ 2.85 [ Pros ] — I like the two choices of water. One with lemon and one with strawberry in it. I usually drink water with slices of lemon, but trying the water with strawberry was really refreshing! Even though water and coffee was self serving, it tasted good which is more important. — I like the patio where all the fancy and trendy dressed people walk by the café to go to the other side of the mall. It’s the location where people must pass. Easy access to the restroom on your way. — Other than the slow and bad service, the food is pretty good. Not a big portion so if you feel really hungry, the food won’t fill you up. But it’s still enough to fill your hunger. [ Cons ] — Only 1 small table indoors that is located in front of the elevator(a lot of people trying to get on the elevator which keeps on having a really long line) and near the restroom(where everyone is trying to get into). — Near the entrance of the café, there is a bench where people who aren’t actually eating at the café, but just stopping by to take a smoke. I’m a non smoker and really don’t like it when I have to be near a smoking area. This is bad for the kids. — They don’t take tip when you order, but have a bowl where you can optionally give to them. My guess is that’s why they have bad service. It’s hard to find a clean table and a lot of the times people actually do that themselves. It seemed as if they were used to the situation.

Came here during my 1 hour lunch break. Spent 30 minutes of it waiting for my food to go. Food was semi cold when I got it and nobody cared to apologize that it was taking so damn long.

There’s a part of me that wants to find something wrong with this place. To find something to scrutinize. The truth is, other than the price, this place is great. Even the price isn’t ‘wrong’ in the sense of being overpriced. It’s just that you would want to pay less, but when you factor in the size and location of this joint, price is a necessary consideration. Granted, I’ve only eaten her around breakfast/brunch times, so if things are different at lunch, I have no comment. As for breakfast and brunch, let’s just say I’ve tried almost every single bakery item in the case. I have my favorites, sure, but every single item I’ve tried has been really, really good. The Jesuit is my favorite, but I could be happy with just about anything in the case. I’ve had the French toast, which has crispy edges and a soft center. The almonds and just a touch of powder sugar elevate it to greatness. The bacon is decent. I’m a big bacon fan, so how a place handles bacon factors in pretty high. It’s not overly oily, and it’s crispy, but not burnt. I prefer a little bit thicker slice, but this will certainly do the trick. I think they give about 3 pieces with the French toast meal. The crepes are pretty good, but I’m surprised they aren’t better for this being a French bakery. They’re really thin and don’t taste buttery. I’m not saying that isn’t French, because I’ve never had crepes in France. But, I’ve made crepes many different ways, and I much prefer a rich, buttery crêpe over a thin, mostly flavorless crêpe. The stuff them with fresh strawberries and they give you this cream cheese sauce which is pretty good. Still worth ordering, but definitely not something you will write home about. The pancakes are really tasty! I also like the coffee and the teas. The coffee is self-serve, but I really like their dark roast. It’s a little oily, but just the right amount. The flavor is solid and the heat is great. If you’re shopping here, grab a pastry and you will be a happier shopper. They also have plenty of outdoor seating, which makes it great for kids or smaller groups too.

I’ve always walked past this café when I’m shopping at south coast and today my husband mentioned he tried the one in Beverly Hills and it was good so we decided to try this place for brunch. Big disappointment. I didn’t even finish my salmon and goat cheese crêpe with a side of spring salad and my husbands soup and sandwich combo was so small! He was still hungry afterward. The food reminded me of corner bakery but more expensive. Service was lacking because they couldn’t remember who ordered drinks and would go around asking customers if they ordered them. I even overheard them trying to figure out who ordered what. Just give out numbers and don’t make things more complicated then they should be.

The guy at the register seemed pretty incompetent. He didn’t even know what the daily specials were. I think it would be nice for the employees to know that. My friend ordered a champagne omelet and a kids’ grilled cheese. A moment later he said, «So you wanted a kids omelette and what else?» and we had to correct him. When he brought out our food, both orders were incorrect. He gave us orders for a different table. When I finally got my Croque Monsieur, I would say it was far from that. It was pretty much just a regular ham and cheese sandwich. Very disappointing service and food to match. Not coming back.

The menu sounded like it would taste really good, but it turned out to be pretty mediocre. Food took awhile to arrive. Tomato soup wasn’t anything special, and the croque monsieur sandwich was just a bland panini. My friend bought a strawberry tarte, and the shell was so hard that she had to apply a lot of force to cut it.

I really enjoy eating here. I usually stop here before I go to the Apple Store here at South Coast Plaza. They have a great bakery. I ordered for breakfast 2 eggs over easy, bacon and potatoes and baguette, with coffee. They have seating inside but I enjoy the outside patio. a nice place to take a break from this busy Mall area.

Have only tried pastries/drinks but both have been delicious! I can’t give it 5 stars because 1. The seating is pretty cramped inside and 2. I haven’t tried enough items to make a better judgment. The staff is very helpful and patient if you aren’t sure what to order. Located inside South Coast already grants a good atmosphere in my opinion! There is also an outdoor seating area overlooking the wonderful parking garage hehe On to the good stuff. Their fruit tarts are off-the-chain! Fresh-tasting fruit, chocolate covered crust, just enough cream on the crust and delicious glaze over the fruit! They offer an amazing peach iced tea which is so refreshing! Hmm this is a pretty boring review… but I just had to write about that tart!

I wish this place had more indoor seating, but that’s the only thing I would change about Champagne Bakery. I didn’t get a chance to try their pastries, but the salad that I ordered was great, very fresh and well-balanced. I tried a little piece of the quiche, and that made me wish I had ordered the half salad half quiche combo. Definitely try one of their specialty drinks, I want to come back just for that alone! And the quiche!

*REVIEWFORCAKEONLY* Picked up the ½ sheet Princess Cake here for a friend’s birthday. The description of the Princess Cake on the site reads: Layers of Chocolate Mousse, Almond Sponge Cake and Crunchy Hazelnut Praline topped with Chocolate Ganache and Toasted Almonds. But all they really need to write in the description is AMAZINGLYDELICIOUS. I am hooked. The cake can feed about 30 people and cost $ 60 with the Marzipan sign that says«Happy Birthday» on it. Get it! You will be in dessert heaven.

Such a pretty location with delicious pastries and friendly people working, I haven’t tried their food yet so this is only for the pastries. GET the Jesuit, it’s incredibly flaky and so freakin good. The macaroons were so so, I’ve had better but their selection is actually good. Everything may be a bit pricey, but hey, you’re at South Coast Plaza.

This little bakery is located by the escalator to the bridge of South Coast Plaza. The café is cute and the pastries look delicious, although I didn’t try any. We really came for the cake because it was my friend’s mom’s birthday, and my friend loves the princess cake. So that’s what we ordered. Chocolate mousse with almond sponge cake and crunchy hazelnut praline topped with a chocolate ganache and toasted almonds. Not too sweet and perfectly delicious!
