Came in with a road bike and needed to replace the clips with pedals and being a new rider he showed me how to replace a tire just in case! Great experience! I would go back for my bike needs!

Fantastic, quick, knowledgeable and right priced service. I had my madone 9.9 built by them and bought a TT speedconcept from them. Both experiences have been fantastic. I have used most of the bike shops in the area and these guys are the best.

David does awesome work on our bikes! I usually do the maintenance on our titanium road bikes, but when there is something more sophisticated to be done, he is fantastic!

Here are 2 great reasons to visit this shop. One being that the owner Paul Deem knows bikes, how to race them, and how to train. Paul is one of the best coaches I have encountered; I put him in the likes of Roger Young. He can set up your bike, provide training guidelines and simply put clarity in your goals. Don’t hesitate to reach out to him!
Second is in regards to the staff, Terry and David handle both mountain and road bikes and know how to fix and maintain them. They are pleasant, patient and forthcoming with knowledge and suggestions.

I bought a trek fx bike 8.2 from cycle Werks for the cheapest I could find in oc. David was so passionate in giving advice and he helped me find the right bike and right size. They are professional and they will help you find the best bike with your price range.

From a solid inventory of bikes to a variety of accessories, these guys have you covered.
They re-​laced my road wheels in record time & I’ve never seen truer wheels.
They even took the time to explain the details of why they laced them the way they did; to provide a stronger, truer wheel while reducing drag coefficients and to spread the rotational load evenly to both sides of the hubs.
Bottom line here is that even though they’re off the beaten path a bit, the effort to find them will be well spent!

Terry is the nicest guy ever. He was so nice in helping me get a new mountain bike and I didn’t feel pressured in any way. I went to a few other bike shops and everyone seemed to have an attitude until I went to Cycle Werks. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. They also do excellent service and so far they seem very straightforward and honest about their work.

I haven’t been to Cycle Werks in +18 months but since 2005, I have been a loyal customer. Just off the top of my head I have bought the following:
— two Trek Bikes, one Hybrid (2005) and TT (2006);
— 3+ computers, including 2 wireless
— Flat Tire Kit (including Trek Bag, +3 Inner tubes, multiple co2 bottles)
— Shimano Shoes & Clips (x2)
— Bottle Cages + Water Bottles (x7)
— Tire Pump
— Helmet x3
I also have paid for the following services:
— had my Trek Equinox 7 shipped/messenger’d to and from various race locations (i.e. Vineman 70.3, Vineman Ironman, Wildfire Half Ironman)
— shipped brand new Road Bike to be assembled
For nearly a decade, I have come to know the former and original staff. I first bought my hybrid from Patrick; appreciated his help; and bought my first tri bike (Trek Equinox 7) from him less than a year later. Mark and Paul helped me get fitted, showed me how to change a tire, while Terri and Joey regularly kept my bike in great condition — as a result, I’m still riding the same Equinox I bought in 06′. It’s IRONMAN tested and all that.
Throughout those 9 – 10 years, I referred all of my friends to go there; 2 of which I know directly bought there bikes from them. In short, I was confident with Cycle Werks.
Around 2013 — I noticed a change in their work ethic. The last JOB I had them do was to assemble a FELT road bike that I had shipped directly to them; accordingly I paid for their services and bought all the required equipment (clip on shoes; water bottle cages, water bottle; computer; helmet; etc.) from them. I really talked them up to my wife because I was obviously happy with Cycle Werks bringing my bike to them after many years of service. But something was off. Upon picking up the bike, I asked them if they could help her get fitted (yes, I offered to pay) and practice clipping on and off — maybe it was an off-​night, but they seemed more interested in having us check out to and leave ASAP so that they could call it a night. My wife felt the same way — this was supposed to be her new bike and new riding experience. I thought it was just me, but the next day, Cycle Werks called me to follow and apologize that they didn’t help my wife the way they said they would. I didn’t want to bother; I just brushed it off; and figured we had reached our end– thus I went on an 18 month hiatus.
I have a race coming up — my first triathlon since 2012, so I brought my bike back to Cycle Werks. I met David, who told me ownership changed along with free-​tune up policy for bikes purchased — which used to work out great for my race seasons. I can understand that, so I wasn’t about to take my bike elsewhere. If I was looking for free service, I wouldn’t have invested thousands of dollars with them over the years. David told me he’ll honor a free-​tune up this one time, and suggested my groupo be fixed and we agreed at $ 30.
A couple of days passed, and my bike was ready for pick up — but in doing so, I was alarmed when I learned that the price was $ 50. The $ 20 premium was for a $ 10 dollar ‘clean up’ policy (that must be new) and the tire mount was another $ 10. I told David we agreed on $ 30 and explained to him that I originally came in for the free-​tune up, but was okay on his recommendation that time it was $ 30. Its not about the money just the principle. For instance, they could have called me prior to let me know what was being recommended or actually being done so that I wouldn’t feel ‘one-​upped.‘
In the end, David took a step back, and honored the original amount for $ 30.
I’ve only met him a couple of times but wanted to acknowledge him as a stand-​up guy. Thank you David.
With new ownership, I sincerely wish all the new & familiar faces at Cycle Werks the best going forward.

So I purchased a Trek Slash 8 at this shop.
David and Teri are avid riders and ride what they sell off the floor.
The advice was honest, valid and without egotistical opinions. The service is above average.
Their was an issue with the shock before I took it off the floor and it was handled with Rock Shok and expedited.
If you are looking for a grass roots type of shop then I believe you found it with Cycle Werks, I have.

Great group of guys who know what they’re doing and have good customer service savvy. I highly recommend.

This is only my second five-​star review, but CW deserves it.
I have been coming here for about three years now, after they moved to their current location. I’ve purchased three bikes from them so far, and referred a number of other customers who have also bought bikes.
Post-​purchase, after trying a number of other OC shops, I use CW exclusively for service. Other shops have ridiculous service calendars (2 weeks before you can even look at my bike?) or iffy mechanics (forgot to seal the fork, didja?). Terry and Dave typically service my bike while I wait, or I pick it up later in the day or the next day. Sure, bigger jobs take more time, and sometimes parts need to be ordered, but that’s the exception rather than the rule.
Terry and Dave also have the trail cred to make real recommendations on bikes, parts, and accessories, and will steer you to what you need for your riding style, area of operation, and preferred trails.
Over the time of my patronage, I have seen the store evolve. Losing Joey’s expertise was a blow, but Terry has risen to the occasion, moving from XO up to skipper, and Dave has been a huge addition to the team. Not only are they capable mechanics, they are trail gurus who can give you the scoop on local trails, down to the «look out for the encroaching cactus on your right as you take that sharp left-​hander.»
Recently, owner Paul has reinvigorated the sales floor by stocking it with bikes and accessories, including a new section with Troy Lee Designs clothing and gear. No more empty space on the floor or wondering if they will have the helmet you want in your size.
All these things are wonderful, but the best thing about Cycle Werks is the vibe. No arrogant skinny hipsters here, no snobs, no elitists. Just real dudes who enjoy riding, fixing, building, and talking about bikes.

My husband and I are total newbies and went to cycle werks to get our first «Real Bikes».
David was super informative and a pleasure to do business with. We went to the store in Thursday and they ordered our bikes and has them ready for us to take home Friday. We have been riding every day since.
I would recommend this place to anyone I know.

Super cool guys and bike shop, helped me out with my XO brakes. Thought I needed them serviced, but they took a look at it and made an adjustment right there. Explained what was happening and took only 5 minutes. Great bike shop!

Terry, David and a former guy named Chris are the most chill bicycle gurus I have ever seen. They are very laid-​back and will go out of their ways to find you a perfectly fit bike.
Don’t be deterred by the naysayers of cyclewerks, I have bought 2 bikes and had a really old mountain bike serviced here with nothing but the best experience.
I would recommend checking out Trek website to see what you’d like first before coming in and talking to Terry.
Because they want to give you the best deal, their stocks are low on the floor to keep overhead low. Terry will tell you the pros and cons of each model. Trek size is pretty consistent so you can test drive some to figure out which size would fit you best.
If you like a particular model, they can order one for you and have it ready the next day. When you come in the next time, you can test ride and decide if you like it or not.
Come here before you go anywhere else. I was unlucky to find out about cyclewerks after I bought my first carbon road bike. But when I’m ready to get an upgrade, cyclewerks will surly be the place I’d get my new roadie from
WHY? because they have the amazing FIT GURU machine and you can determine your bike size, stem size, seatpost offset size etc tiny details before they can order the bike. It’s like getting a bespoke road bike as opposed to getting a fitting after you get a road bike.
The fitting process after you get a road bike can cost you north of $ 500 with all the replacement parts that you’d need to get.
Until then… all I can do is to spread the words about cyclewerks’ greatness

This is my go to shop in this part of town. They’re very knowledgeable, easy going, and reasonably priced. I walked in there today with a few minor issues on my road bike and walked out ten minutes later with a much smoother ride. I can’t remember the main guy’s name off the top of my head, but he’s cool. Give them a try.

Bought a new men’s Trek 7.4 and had 3 of our older bicycles tuned. Terry and Robert were so professional, knowledgable and helpful when I had questions or special requests. The also offer lifelong free tuneup on any new bicycle you buy there (some shops charge up to $ 69 for this service).
I felt like a real «VIP» and would recommend
CycleWerks for either service or new bike needs.

As a long-​time cycling enthusiast I have been to a lot of bicycle shops. Cycle Werks is one of my favorite shops. The staff is super friendly, attentive and helpful. During one visit the employee I was speaking with pulled the owner away from what he was doing to introduce us.
After riding the same old stead for years, I finally decided it was time for a new full-​suspension MTB and how could I get a new bike and leave my son riding an old hard-​tail that was too small? Cycle Werks made me an incredible deal on 2 Treks. Other Trek dealers I shopped could not come close. Like many bike shops, they keep their inventory of higher priced bikes to a minimum to reduce overhead so it didn’t bug me that the bikes had to be ordered. I placed my order late on a Saturday, they ordered the bikes on Monday and we were picking up our shiny new bikes by Wednesday. I also ended up buying an Electra breach cruiser and received an equally awesome deal and service. Had one repair issue on one of the bikes and they fixed it immediately.
I have since recommended a few friends to Cycle Werks and they too are very please with the level of service.
