I have to concur with a lot of the folks here. Carol is pretty dishonest and a terrible person to work with. Personally, I received only a portion of what was promised. Assembly was also a total nightmare dealing with missing parts, etc. I ended up doing an extraordinary amount of work on the beds to make them sturdy.
Honestly, I can’t really think of one aspect of the experience that went well. It’s a long painful story…

I bought my first bedroom set from Carol 11 years ago when my son was 2. All was delivered and scheduled as said. I bought my second set from her 8 years ago and again all was good. Our furniture is still good as new and is better quality then you can get at a Living Space type store.

My experience with this company is arguably the worst experience I’ve ever had with any company, ever. Crazy thing is, I spent over $ 4,000 and still had this most awful experience.
I think what bothers me most about this company is not the incompetence of taking orders and delivering what was ordered in a timely fashion, which was a comedy of errors. I’ve lived with that before.
It’s not the fact that after I ordered, they were on me like a hawk to pay the remainder of my deposit and calling every day for a week (they’re only open on weekends mind you), but the second they received my funds, it was nearly impossible to get them on the phone for a status update or when the deliveries didn’t come as promised.
It’s not the fact that on TWO separate occasions deliveries were set and I took time off to wait for the delivery and no one showed up. Not late, but didn’t show up. No phone calls.
It’s not the fact that a month+ after the furniture was supposed to arrive, it arrived wrong and also there was a piece of furniture missing. I had to go through another battle to get the right pieces finally delivered. I never did receive the missing part. I gave up trying.
Its not the fact that after the countless errors and delays and frustration that this company refused to discount me anything for the ordeal and barely took any professional accountability, particularly the owner.
What bothers me most is that when I went to pay for the furniture (this was before I knew there were going to be countless delays and hours of frustration), the owner (Carol) had the gall to call me a liar to my face and insinuate I was a thief when I told her about a discount we had agreed to (it was for discounted shipping based on the size of my order).
10 minutes later, we pulled up the paperwork out of the file and saw the discount spelled out in her own hand-​writing, she didn’t even apologize! She just muttered that she doesn’t do those discounts.
So to summarize. Incompetence, lack of accountability, lack of professionalism and calling the customer a liar and a thief. An overall feeling of unethical behavior that leave a bad taste. When I read the other negative Unilocal,that’s definitely a consistent theme.
Caveat emptor doesn’t even begin to cover this…

Very happy with the furniture I purchased from Kids Alley. I had been eyeballing their furniture for years, and when it came time to git rid of the baby furniture and get big kid furniture, Kids Alley was my choice.
We purchased a triple bunk with desk feature, and extra desk, and a dresser. It all turned out beautiful and looks custom because it IS custom. We picked the paint, the knobs, and various trim options.
I am very happy, the wood is great quality.
Carol always responded to my emails even AFTER the purchase and provided me with free touch up paint in case of dings (6 year old twin boys can be rough!!).
The quality is excellent. The delivery time does take longer than quoted, but it’s worth the wait in my opinion. As long as you know that going, in you will be very happy. I’d rather wait to get exactly what I wanted, than but something slapped together by some cheap chain furniture store.

This woman is not the manufacture like she claims! She goes thru the manufacture of the furniture she is selling. I purchased 2 baby cribs from her in February 2014 and I did not receive them until the second week of JULY 2014. I was pregnant with TWINS and I almost didn’t have a crib to put them in! I leterally went into the hospital to deliver the very next week after receiving the cribs. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Carol is very unprofessional and can not conduct business like she should. Shes all talk at the OC marketplace and after that she is stupid! Don’t waste your time!!! She blames al the other vendors and does not take responsibility for her business.

Kids Alley did a great job of helping me choose a style that would work for my girls room. I choose a pottery barn style and they made it for much less. It took them a little longer than expected but they made sure it was right.

It troubles me to have to write this. We purchased several pieces of furniture from Kids Alley for our 2 daughters, and for the most part had been satisfied with their products. The piece I’m writing about here is an armoire we purchased in 2009.
A few weeks ago, the armoire door, which has a full size mirror attached to it, cracked, separated, and fell to the floor, completely on its own. The broken door and mirror came within a few feet of hitting our daughter.
I called Kids Alley to let them know they have a design flaw with this piece and requested their assistance in providing a replacement armoire door (without a mirror). I even sent photos of the door and where it split from the hinge. Their response was that the original builder was no longer in business and that none of their current builders would touch a product that they didn’t design or construct. They also told me it was unreasonable for me to expect them to fix something that was purchased 5 years ago.
This is a potentially dangerous product. I would think Kids Alley would treat this like a recall and work with their customers on providing a safe replacement. I was disappointed that they didn’t offer any realistic options for correcting the problem.
These are the facts of the situation. I’ll let you, the reader, decide if I’m being unreasonable.

Shopping for baby furniture is tough, especially since most of the products you find in the major stores — Babies ‘R Us or Bye Bye Baby — seem to be mass produced and heavily marked up because the overhead for these kind of outlets. Selection is also difficult, as many things you see aren’t in stock or in the color or design you want. Private boutique shops are even more over-​priced and have less to show you.
That’s where Kids Alley comes in. Sure, we had to drive a bit from Los Angeles down to the Orange County Fairgrounds. Trust me when I say it was worth it, because we did it twice when buying the furniture for our two nurseries.
Selection is amazing when you consider you aren’t in a fancy show-​room of a furniture store or warehouse, but actually outside underneath awnings. Their layout is enticing, with beautifully crafted wood bunk beds, dressers and cribs of all designs and colors displayed with full the touches of bedding, stuffed animals and accessories.
You can pretty much custom pick what you want and order it, which you’d have to do at most big chain stores and furniture shops. The big difference is that you’re dealing with Carol, who nearly two years after we last visited to buy furniture for our first child, remembered us almost instantly, found our transaction from before and basically offered us the same deal and price two years later. You can’t get much better or more personal service than that. We loved working with her to get the furniture choices we wanted.
The only complaint anyone could have with Kids Alley is that their delivery crew is a tad inept. We’ve never had any damaged goods or wrong items — it’s just that timing is the issue. They’re often late or miss the time-​frame they promise to deliver by. Our first time around they delivered a few hours late. This time they delivered a day off the mark. Carol has been made aware and just as she deals with everything else, joyfully takes the critique and promises to do something to make it right. She mentioned switching companies due to these recent issues and I have no doubt she’ll find a more reliable group.
If you’re going to take the time to shop for quality baby/​kids furniture at better than fair prices, drive down to visit Kids Alley. Family is all about feeling like you’re more than a number, and we can say that Carol has made us very happy to be part of the Kids Alley family.

We had a horrible experience. We had been looking for furniture for a long time. It was a big decision for us to purchase a bedroom set for our son. We had moved into a new house and finally placed an order with them.
They promised the bed to us in 3 weeks and it was even written on the order noted as *3 Weeks*. It was ordered on 2÷16÷14 and they required almost $ 800 cash down for a deposit.
They kept pushing off dates and giving us false completion dates. They then blamed it on a former employee (which by the was was a lie because we went there and the «former employee» was NOT «former»! She was there. Total lie) Telling us they shouldn’t have promised 3 WEEKS?! And that’s OUR fault?! It is now ³⁄₂₂ and not only do we NOT have a bed but they haven’t even started making it!!! And as a courtesy they offered free delivery?! It can’t be «free if there’s nothing to deliver»! Are you kidding me? Interesting how they can take your cash and then not fulfill their agreement. We had to repeatedly follow up with them. I called several times and sent multiple emails and with all the communication to them, we received incomplete and rare response, with only a general voicemail line where you could never reach a live person.
Just shameful and a terrible way to do business. Not to mention the DEEP disappointment of an 8 year old boy, with no bed, that would ask every day, «mommy where’s my bed?» Unreal. I would NEVER recommend them and good luck getting what you pay for and THEY promise.

This place is great! We’ve purchased all of our children’s furniture from here and Carol has helped us tremendously! Price is good and quality is great! Definitely recommend buying from her!!!

I ordered a dresser for my nursery three weeks ago. After two weeks I was told it was ready to be picked up. I was happy that it was ready so soon. Once my husband arrived home with the dresser I noticed it wasn’t the off white color I had ordered. I had someone else’s dresser. The following day I was told between 9−11am on Friday I would have my dresser. It is now 3:30pm and I have no dresser. Anna at the delivery company Kids Alley uses lied to Carol and stated that I never choose a time for delivery. Anna never added me to the drivers list of deliveries for the day. I am hoping I end with a good quality piece of furniture (which is the correct color) and some sort of refund. It wasn’t in my plans to sit around allday and wait for a driver who only provided excuse after excuse on why he is running so late. The dresser arrived at 4:00pm. It smelled awful! I am unable to put clothing into it. I spoke with Carol and she stated it is the flame retardent. It is now three days later and still smells awful. I am hoping for some sort of refund. I was given a call with an apology from Nina and that was it. I will hopefully speak with Carol soon. I will never buy anything from Kids Alley.

The process however was a bit frustrating. Communication was not always there. We were told 4 – 6 weeks but that it would be closer to 4. At the 4 week mark I contacted them and they said they were running behind and it would be closer to 6 weeks. At 6 weeks I again contacted them and was told it would be another week. After the additional week had passed I was told I would be contacted by the delivery company which I was not. After a few days of waiting I had to contact them. We set a date and time for delivery. Delivery day came and 5 minutes before they were to be here I received a call saying they wouldn’t be coming as the paint from 5 days ago was still not dry. So we rescheduled. On the rescheduled date they showed up 40minutes late. After the bed was set up we noticed a STRONG smell of paint fumes to which my children did not sleep in their room for a week. Even then the paint fume smell was still there but not as strong. Over the week I tried natural remedies to rid the smell, the window was open ²⁴⁄₇ and the fan on full blast.
All said and done my children were finally able to sleep in their room 10 weeks after our order date.

I love this furniture! I have been going to Carol at Kids Alley for over 11 years. All four of my kids’ bedroom furniture come from her. My kids love the bunk beds, the amazing alder wood quality is second to none. There is no particle board used here. Carol is always helpful and her suggestions are right on. When they expanded into adult furniture, we bought an amazing bedroom set with five pieces that she made custom for us. We always get compliments and requests from people about our furniture. I highly recommend Carol and Nina, they will not steer you wrong.

Buying furniture is not an easy task. There are so many products that lack quality and are not even wood, that its hard to find new furniture that is good quality AND REAL WOOD. Based on the recommendation of a good friend, we visited the OC Marketplace to shop for furniture because we were on a budget and they had good success there.
After I finished admiring the nice cars for sale near her booth, we met Carol and our furniture search had ended. She was so inviting and spent time with us to discuss the types of wood and drawer configurations. She guided us in our selection so we could get a nice hardwood dresser and night stands without breaking the bank. Working with Carol felt like we had known her for years, her vibrant personality made the experience FUN.
We selected nice brushed hardware for the drawers with really nice drawer sliders and got some great design ideas in the process. She gave us a date for arrival and they were ON TIME (Phew…) Her crew that delivered our furniture were very careful and professional in our home. We couldn’t be happier with the value we received from Kids Alley. We recommend Carol to all my friends now and will consult with her if we ever need any other new furniture.
