Klondike Air

These guys are great! They took a while to deliver my filters, because they had trouble locating ones that would fit properly. There was a mix up but they remedied the situation. They came out and personally installed the filters and insured everything was perfect. These guys stand by their work and are a great company to do business with.

I am very disappointed with Klondike. I have never written a negative review, but in this case I want to warn others so they don’t get taken advantage of. At first I was very optimistic because my conversation with one of the owners was very informative about a musty smell coming from my air conditioner. However, the problem started when the person came out to assess the problem. I told him that my husband had cleaned the drain last year. He told me that the smell was from some kind of glue my husband used when he cleaned the drain… what? My husband didn’t use anything to clean the drain except a wet vac– no glue! Then he tells me the smell must be from water collecting in the coils (which It was) and tries to sell me on a air purification system developed by NASA and thermostat that will cost me $ 2000! I said I would have to think about that. I asked him how much would it be for him to just clean the coils (I read that this usually fixes the musty smell problem). He told me that would cost $ 1600 anyway, so I might as well get the air purification system. This was a complete lie! I called around and found out that cleaning the coils would only cost about $ 300. I am very upset that I was lied to blatantly. I liked my conversation with the owner, but you might want to reconsider the people you send out to do quotes. Also, I was upset that the guy they sent out to assess wasn’t even going to be the one to perform the work, so I would have had to have another person come out on a separate day for any work needed. Needless to say, I did not use Klondike. I wrote a very good review for the company I ended up using and the problem is fixed for a reasonable cost that they quoted me over the phone before they even came out– so I knew what to expect. If you must chose this company, do your research before they show up.

I have been using Klondike in Costa Mesa for several years, I would guess about 8 years. They were referred to me by a friend who also used their services for that many years as well. They are quick to respond, patient with my questions and caring about my home and equipment. I like that I am a gold club member as they call and remind me to get my equipment checked for the specific season. The entire staff is great.

I used Klondike Air back in 2009 to replace my furnace. I was very pleased with the service and the quality of their work. Recently, I got approval for AC in my condo from my HOA.
I immediately thought of Klondike had them do an estimate. As AC can be costly, I did reach out to 3 other companies, including Home Depot, and they all priced it higher than Klondike, and they all seemed to think there would be issues with the electrical (which meant they were going to charge me more). One company said they couldn’t even do it.
Andrew from Klondike seemed to have no problem with the set up or electrical, and they installed my AC very quickly, did a great job and had the best price! They also installed a fan in my attic with a thermostat to keep the temperature of my home down, and therefore reduce usage of my AC.
The installers were courteous, clean and very professional. I recommended Klondike to my neighbor, and she also had a great experience with them setting up her AC. I would recommend them to anyone who wants a professional company that knows what they are doing. I can’t wait to have a cool home during the next heatwave!

I can’t say enough about how great Andrew and his team have been with helping us over the past 2 years! Andrew took the time to research a local incentive program for us to install HVAC system in our home! The work and unit installation etc., have been excellent! Also over the past year their maintenance on our system has been incredible! More recently Richard Derrick came out to service the unit and was stellar with his customer service and getting us the attention we needed efficiently and quickly!

I have lived in my Yorba Linda house for 5 years and had a lot of dust problems. It was so bad that my every two week house cleaning team were complaining. I had the air ducts cleaned last year and even with the windows shut and the air, on it, bad. Two days after dusting, there was dust accumulation starting back up.
I was ready to pack up. I called a couple air and heating places and then Steve called me back. He told me I lived where there was a lot of dust and recommended «NASA Air Scrubber». It is a filtering device that was put into my air duct that is plugged in. It destroys fungus, bacteria, and helps eliminate dust.
Steve also put in a new «Nest Thermomstat», which can be set to run the fan 15 minutes out of every hour. The hours are flexible so I set it to start at 9 AM and to stop at 11 PM.
What a difference it has made in my home. My air seems cleaner, dust is down quite considerably, and breathing easier. I was concerned because soon after moving to this area, I started coughing. Thanks Steve

I left a detailed voicemail with my call back number for this company after multiple times calling with no answer. I NEVER received a call back. Wanted to have someone come to my house to give an estimate on installing central a/​c, I will obviously be taking my business elsewhere since my call was ignored =(

What great service! We just added air and heat to our home. Andrew was very informative and came right out to give us an estimate. Very professional and got started right away, Miguel showed up and ran the job until completed… They were very polite and clean while working in our home. I highly recommend Klondike Air and their staff.

Just finished an upgrade of our Furnace and AC for our home. Klondike had experience with the unique issues associated with Eichler homes. In addition, we also had a mini split system installed in one of our rooms. Andrew’s team was diligent, respectful of our home and worked hard to get the work done on time. I found them to be very flexible, knowledgeable, competitively priced, and they made sure to answer any and all questions I had.

Rare today is the company that stands behind its service and creatively looks for solutions to a problem it did not cause. Klondike Air is that company. Honest and committed.

Shout out to Kondike Air and Edward the Field Supervisor!!! My air conditioning crashed and we called Klondike to make the repair. They were able to come out within a couple of hours of my call and take care of the problem!!! Edward was very professional, polite, and explained the problem.

So, Andrew and his Crew did our HVAC work about a 8 months ago, never got around to doing the review, but figured I’d write one now since we’ve been using it quite a bit because of the spike in the heat.
We had, what I would consider, a huge job. Completely new furnace, evaporator coil, and duct work throughout the entire two stories of our house. Honestly, a couple of Companies I called couldn’t even handle the scope of our job. After calling around and getting estimates from around 4 – 5 places, we decided on Andrew. Not the cheapest, not the most expensive, but by far the most professional. Note, check out my review on ARS Heating and Air, they’re terrible. Andrew provided a great inspection upon visit, thorough explanation of work to be done.
His crew showed up on time… and it seemed like the whole company came over for our job. Seriously, they had like 3 trucks here, mind you, all professionally company trucks too! Superficially? Yea, but indefinitely think it installs a little more trust when you can present a professional image like that.
The job took 3 days, but I knew that. Each day, they cleaned everything up and made the house habitable for us, given that we’ve got two toddlers… a definite plus. The job was completed to my satisfaction, and oh, they even found a leak in my AC piping, within the walls. Apparently, the Construction crew that did our remodel had put a nail through the pipe when the installed the Drywall! Had they not found it, I’d be wondering why our AC didn’t work. That would of been another call and another expensive fix. Good catch on their part!
Overall, I’m pretty satisfied with the work and the decision to go with Andrew. It’s been 8 months or so and everything is still flawlessly working. Also, he followed up with a «thank you» card. Not a huge deal, but I appreciated the thought. Those small things are what differentiates a professional from your typical joe plumber.
On another note, I can’t speak to the other reviewers, but I know we always got a pretty prompt reply from them during our inquiries, but mileage may vary, I can only speak to my experience. Thanks for the great work Andrew!

Klondike air beat out the 3 other AC installers that I vetted by a long shot! They were honest, professional, fairly priced, and left my home tidy! This family run business has great customer service and most importantly integrity!!! I love my AC!!!

These guys are great. We needed AC in very short order due to a family medical issue. While another company quoted 3 days for a quote and a month + to install Klondike was there in 3 hours to quote and less than a week to start the install. They kept to their times, cost and promises. The Install crew was great, did a real nice job and have been pleased with the final product. This is obviously a family operation, they communicate, they follow thru and keep their promises. They were refered by 2 other friend that they had simular experiences.

We just bought our second home and used Klondike for the second time to install a new furnace and place it in the attic to gain closet space. It is a family run business and they have great customer service. Their employees are all helpful and friendly as well. When you call their number, most of the time you will get a hold of one of the two brothers that run the company — no waiting on hold, no automated answering service.

I am giving them 3 stars for being nice people with good follow up before the appointment. My initial call they made me feel comfortable & they were knowledgeable. That first call gave me high hopes that they would take care of the smell problem I have been having. However the lack of stars are for the fact that I paid a «diagnose fee» & nothing was diagnosed. I guess that smells are hard to diagnose. I also received a quote for ducts to be replaced higher than I anticipated however they gave a «small» discount on the price, still wasn’t on point. A week later when putting the a/​c on noticed the cool air wasn’t working. Opened the closet & found something was left unplugged.

I called this place because they are located pretty close to my house. The problem is I’m pretty sure they have outsourced their phone service because the lady took down my name and number but couldn’t tell me ANYTHING. I just wanted to know approximately how long it would take to have a tech call me back to set up an appointment. When she couldn’t even give me a range (an hour, several weeks???) I asked how many services techs were working today or if any were in my area. No answer here either. Her responses were all very, or at least seemed like they were scripted. If they call me back quickly and provide good service I will update this review.

Dear Unilocal community, after four days and no returned call, I am revising my review from 2 stars down to 1.

After a disappointing consultation with a heating/​air company we had previously used, my husband went online and found Klondike Air. Thank goodness! They were extremely easy to get a hold of and quickly came out for a consultation. Andrew thoroughly inspected our house and gave us a great quote. We didn’t feel like he was trying to «up-​sell» us on any heating/​ac elements. We ended up replacing our existing heater, removing asbestos, redoing ducts/​vents, and installing ac and a smart filter.
We live in a townhouse association and had to submit certain paperwork to get the work approved. Andrew was extremely accommodating and emailed me the required papers in addition to sketching a drawing of the layout of the patio where the condenser would go. Within a week of getting approved, Klondike Air was installing our new heating/​ac.
My husband and I felt very comfortable working with this company. They are family-​owned, local, and most important – honest. We already have recommended them to family and friends and will use them again in the future.

This company is outstanding, honest & professional. several other companies proposed a larger ton a/​c unit than i needed. Andrew the owner came out and thoroughly explained the proposal & did not try to up sell. He even paid a private contractor to paint the line set the hoa color. the installers did a great job. i have called the company multiple times with questions before, during & after the install. Andrew’s brother Chris answers the phone cheerfully & has been so patient with me, as has Andrew.
i highly recommend you stop looking for anyone else other than klondike for your a/​c and heating needs! you will be a happy customer. It is a smaller family owned business and you will be treated like family.

The master bathroom in my house doesn’t have an exhaust fan, just a window. Due to this whenever you take a shower the ceiling and walls are dripping wet when you take a shower which is causing mildew to form. I called my trusted HVAC company I normally use and was told to my dismay they do not install exhaust fans. After lots of searching I found Klondike Air who not only does HVAC but also attic venting, bathroom exhausts, and insulation.
I called up and spoke to Chris who was very friendly and he sent Edward to my house to check out the situation. My appointment was for 8am and Edward was right on time. He checked out the bathroom and went up into the attic to check out the space above. He gave me a quote and I made an appointment for the following week.
Not only does this company give you an exact time instead of a window for your appointment but when I was told 8am the tech showed up right at 8am. So rare these days. Most companies can’t even show up in their four hour windows. Mike started the prep work and Edward came by a little later to help with fishing the electrical wire. The job itself took about 3 hours and to my zero handyman skilled eyes seemed like a real pain in the arse. Price was what was quoted to me. This morning my wife took a shower and the mirror had just a tiny wisp of steam on it and the walls were not dripping wet. Mission accomplished!
Klondike was a great company to work with start to finish. My other HVAC company has also been great to me for many years. Next time I need work done it’s going to be a hard choice who to use. I may have to just flip a coin!
