looking for a mariscos place don’t waste your time here. I’m not gonna bash them and go into all these little details, just save your time and go somewhere else seriously or do eat at all It would be better and you can avoid the smell of extreme BO and feeling unwelcome when you come in

The place may not be the best in terms of atmosphere and location. So, I will exclude these factors from my review. I tried several things: Chips and Salsa, Ceviche, and Shrimp Burrito. For the price, it is among the best Ceviche I have ever tasted. I can’t even smell or taste the fishiness. The shrimp burrito is above average. It has more than average amount of shrimp in the burrito. The taste is pretty good but not memorable. The salsa(whatever the red one is) is good. However, if you mix it with the habanero salsa, it turns into this awesome-fest.

DOYOULIKEPIECESOFBROKENPLATEINYOURFOOD? IFSO, THENYOUMUSTCOMEHERE! I found a half-inch piece of broken plate inside a breakfast burrito with my teeth. In other words, I ordered a breakfast burrito(to go) and took a bite only to sink my unassuming molars into a sharp and jagged shard of broken dishware that hid cozily between the egg and cheese that filled the burrito(there wasn’t much meat even though they call it a Chorizo Burrito). How a piece of broken dishware ends up in a burrito that is hand made(I’m assuming) is furthest beyond my knowledge. Makes you wonder what else they are doing completely wrong at this place…

Only gave it 1 star for the chips! Had the chili relleno plate and u needed a chainsaw to cut that chili and payed over $ 15 for that disgusting plate! Avoid going here cause it is not worth the price nor food.

Gotta-try dishes: Ensalada de Pescado(with the tilapia, not the tuna); Posole(red, pork); Chilaquiles; and Castillas de Puerco(spicy pork ribs).

Great chips and salsa, and that was it. Wife had Camarones al mojo de ajo, her plate was bland and greasy shrimp. My kids split a Milanesa torta, they must have forgotten the Milanesa in the frying pan, extra crispy and a little bit greasy. I had Camarones Acapulqenos, shrimp had no flavor, the white«sauce» was a watery soup. Rice was bland, Beans were ok. a couple of guys at the bar were going to fight and the girl said nothing. We should have just had Subway next door. I say just go to Subway next door.

If you love your ceviche cooked in limon this is the place to go. It’s one tostada but it’s pretty packed. For a random spot this was really good. Also horchatas are home made. no packets :) all under $ 10!

Quesadilla was great, pescado burrito was awesome, and the dollar tacos are outstanding. Music was a bit loud, but I asked and they turned it down. Fresh food at a good price.

The fish tacos are fresh and amazing! Tender grilled fish with the right amount of seasoning and their sauce was spot on. Exactly what I wanted.

This review is strictly for the ceviche, since I haven’t tried anything else on the menu. We were craving for some seafood options like ceviche. So we searched on Unilocal and this restaurant popped up. My first impression when I walked in, everyone just sort of stares like we’re in the wrong place. It obviously wasn’t the best impression, but we just went to the bar asked for menus so we can order take out. It didn’t seem like a really inviting environment anyways, but maybe I’m just over analyzing. The ceviche de pescado is good, but I’m not a fan of oregano and the hints of it was a bit too overwhelming for me. The ceviche de camaron was excellent with chunks of shrimp, hint of lime and the sweetness totally comes through this marinated dish. They packed one tostada for each serving of ceviche which was not enough, but they offered a full brown bag of chips and salsa to polish off the rest of the dish.
For under $ 7, this is a inexpensive and delicious meal to satisfy a snack craving. I’ve been there a couple of times and only to get their ceviche. The price has gone up and it’s just under $ 8. For credit card, a minimum of $ 10 is needed. As you can see I still give them 4 stars, because the food was delicious and my husband enjoys oregano. It’s a personal preference and I do see us visiting this place again for take out. There’s loud music coming out from the juke box, all picks of the customers. The walls has murals of waves and the rest of the restaurant is blue to mimic skies or clouds. The place needs a little upgrading and non sticky bar chairs, but it appears fairly clean for the most part.

Us: Do you have dollar tacos? Waitress: No. Us: But your sign outside says dollar tacos, Monday through Friday. Waitress: I dunno. *five minutes later* Us: Is there supposed to be more shrimp in this taco? It has two shrimps the size of boogers(no joke, they were smaller than dimes). Waitress: No. That summarizes the dining experience you get here. How it manages to stay in business, I have no idea.

Read my first review first — I USED to love this place. As far as the food goes — they never disappoint But if you are a white girl, not all the servers are so friendly, in fact, they can be downright RUDE. I was treated poorly the first time a few weeks ago and decided to pop back in this weekend because me and my boyfriend love this place– but we were served by the same RUDE ass lady(works saturday mornings) and thats it for me. No longer will i spend money here.

Their ceviche tostada s are amazing. They’re $ 6.50 each, which seems like a lot, until you see it. There’s a MOUNTAIN of ceviche on it. So much that I had to use the chips from the salsa to finish it. I come here every chance I get. Great food!

Meh… Great for late night, great customer service so for that 4 stars. But over all a 3. Maybe I should of stuck with Mariscos because my albondigas soup was blah really blah. The tacos de polo were ok. Next time I will try the cocktail de camaron and stay away from caldos. They do offer $ 1 tacos M-F(chicken, beef, carnitas)

I am like a broken record when I go here. It’s always«una tostada de ceviche mixta con una extra tortilla frita.» They know me. I have gotten good tacos and tortas here as well, but nothing beats that ceviche. Ceviche by the way is raw fish, shrimp, and octopus with lemon juice, cilantro, onion, tomato, and jalapeño. I have had ceviche lots of places, but this place has it down. Just put some tapatio on top, squeeze a lime, and chip your way to heaven. Lastly, I’d like to take a moment to address the bad reviews regarding the cleanliness of this place. Yes, it is kind of small and poor but I have never seen it dirty. I have never seen anything unhygienic in the place either. The bathroom is clean too. So, idk why y’all be trippin.

I’ve been coming to Hector’s Mariscos for over a year now and this is the best spot to get a Shrimp tostada(ceviche). Today I brought my girlfriend and husband for a early afternoon lunch. For $ 6.50 we each ordered a tostada with a mountain of shrimp marinated in lime juice. It also came with 3 to 4 slices of avocado on top(you can also order fish or a combination of the two if you’re not down with the shrimp mountain). I usually squeeze more lime juice and cover it with tapatio sauce — also accompany it with an ice cold beer and I’m in heaven. The tostada can get soggy from all the lime juice so I like to use the chips to help scoop up the big chunky pieces of shrimp. My girlfriend loved it and also liked how they bring out an ice cold glass mug with a salt rim and lime for the beer. My husband also ordered a side of 3 chicken tacquitos in case the tostada didn’t fill him up. I’ve always ordered the tostada and never tried anything else so I was curious to see how the tacquitos would be. They arrived steaming hot with sour cream, shredded lettuce and cheese. He said they were good, nothing out-of-this-world but worth the $ 5.25. The place was also pretty busy and Judy(the server) is also very nice and attentive. She says the owner is an older woman who is also the cook and is always coming up with different specials — like menudo and tamales throughout the year. They also have a jukebox and an array of beers. Today there were quite a few guys sitting at the bar eating and watching the soccer game on tv with families sitting at the larger tables enjoying their lunch. I’m a huge fan of the shrimp tostada and will keep going back for more. mmmmmmmmm
