This place… I get my nails done every two weeks and decided to stop by this place as I was in dire need. The service sucked. NO ONE was in there, I should have left at that moment. I got a gel manicure that looked horrible and half the time she was wiping the gel off my hands. The worst part was the price. It is over priced for such crappy quality. The ladies working there are rude and not friendly AT ALL. I would never be back and steered my roommate away as well. Hold on though, it continues so I paid a lot of money for this gel manicure pedicure that did not even last a WEEK! it was chipping after 5 days and I had to go to a new place to go REDO my nails the day I was leaving on vacation because of the shit job done at this place. What a joke. Here is a tip don’t buy such cheap products and price so high. It is a sure way to run yourself out of business! if you want to charge more, by all means but live up to it with the service and the quality. I am no business owner myself, but as a frequent consumer in this industry it is a basic principle. Ugh, rant over.

The rain got a little heavy after eating my bonzai bowl so i decided to stop in and get my hands and feet looking neat and These ladies were great! Great service, great massage, they even let me hang out and relax until the rain passed! This is what great service is suppose to feel like!

I feel bad giving this place a poor review because the gal who did my nails was so nice but I won’t go back here. It was a great experience during my time at the salon, minus the interior design, but I thought I had found my new nail place! But during my check out I paid $ 65 (plus $ 10 tip so technically $ 75) for a gel acrylic fill and a pedicure. It seems a little pricey considering the drab interior yet acceptable if you walk out with awesome nails. Unfortunately, one week later the gel on my manicure is completely chipping off, and my toes cuticles are hacked!!! So the search continues for a good and reasonably priced nail salon in Newport.

To start they only had about ten gel options. One of the worst manicures I have ever gotten. I hate to say it because the woman who did my nails was so nice. She even completed redid the polish after a first attempt, but the second attempt was not any better. This was my first, and will be my last time here.

They have always been consistent and very nice. Everything is clean and they are always professional and nice. They are also really well priced. I highly recommend Maxim Nails!

Amazing job on my gel mani and pedi and in n out in under a hour which I love. But cleanliness is not their forte sadly. To the owner I recommend plastic bags for the pedi spa machines, and that they use the Marvicide on their utensils after using them on me. Not just water.

I wish I could give this place less stars. I started getting acrylics here because they were inexpensive, close to my apartment, and always had no wait. But the people who do your nails don’t care. Except the one older lady there. She does a great job and is the only exception to all I am about to say. If your nail chips they don’t take it all off they just patch the acrylic. If you ask them to give you a new set they only take off Certian nails not all 10. If your nail breaks and you come in to get it fixed, again just a patch. I was going here for about six months. I kept mentioning that my nail on three of my fingers were starting to hurt. They did nothing about it. I finally went to a new nail place who told me I needed to get my acrylics taken off because my nails had an infection. They just wanted me to keep coming for business. I finally got my nails taken off last April. It is now September and they will probably still need a year to heal. I just went to the doctor and he said it was jt an infection but physical damage. The picture I am posting is of 5 months after having the acrylics removed. DO NOT GO HERE you are risking the use of your fingers for about a year or longer. Okay i can’t figure out how to post the picture but I’ll will try, basically my fingernails are detached from my fingertip and it hurts to touch anything, especially if they get wet. Washing dishes is not possible.

I never paint my nails because it looks like a kindergartener painted them. $ 35 and 40 minutes later that’s exactly what my nails looked like. I’m in shock with how terrible of a job they did. Super disappointed I will never go back to this place.

You know a bad nail job when…
1. You could do a better job.
2. It starts chipping the next day.

I visiting my parent in Newport Beach in June 2013. I like this place because the girls i normally see are still there. They work really hard. I like my neck rub while getting my mani and pedi. This area is a nicer, more selective for services. I didn’t know how many people that live in the area are so cheap. I was surprised that my bill was only $ 60, which included a mani, pedi, and shoulder rub. I can easily spend more than $ 60 at my normal nail place in AZ for similar service. I observe that there are many clients who are wearing their brand name purses are asking for discounts, complain about everything, and worse tipper. I had to tip those girls for them because i witness how hard they worked. This was a cultural shock for me because some people come through the door may appear wealthy, but so cheap and anal. They are willing to spend thousand of dollars on a purse, but can’t pay or tip appropriately?
Oh, while i was getting my services, the parents brought in two little girls who want to have everything done like an adult, but didn’t want to pay for it. complaining it was too expensive. Besides, their nails were too tiny for the designs they wanted. I am at disbelief how ignorant and snobby they were. Champagne taste on a beer budget. Sad because this place isn’t expensive. And they were yapping the whole time, I try to relax with their terrible gossip that gave me a headache after.
You are welcome cheap tipper, because I already gave your girls the tips they deserved. Wannabe rich people. make me sick because they can’t even wash their nasty feet. I would vomit and throw their money at their cheap faces if I have to do nails.

My 7^th grade daughter saved her money to get «zebra nails» for her first ever school dance. The manager said «no» and gave her a limited choice of colors. Since none went with her dress, she picked a neutral color that they swore would look awesome with flowers. See for yourself in the pictures. They charged $ 18. When she met me 4 minutes later crying, I went back in the store to advocate, but the manager refused to refund her money. Thankfully, her normal salon, The Nail Lounge was across the street. They had initially been too busy, but when they saw the job Maxim’s did, they found a way to fit her in and did a FABULOUS job giving her zebra nails, just like she wanted. Lesson learned for my daughter, to never put up with poor quality service and results. Shame, shame on Maxim’s manager for ripping off and taking advantage of a child.

I’ve been coming here for the past 6 years and it’s my fave. I’ve tried TONS of other places in NB, CM & Irvine– but Maxim’s is the best. The #1 reason i re-​visit is because (as mentioned in a previous review) their Pedi’s last FOREVER. I do not know how or why, but they NEVER chip. I also love this place bc it’s cheap, the same gals are always there and are all very friendly. No appt. required and «Kelly» does a great gel mani also!

If I could give them 0 stars I would. They have the worst customer service ever! I walk in an they tell me 5 minutes. Then 10 minutes they tell me it will be thirty more. After 30 minutes she tells me it will be another 30 minutes!!! Never go here!

So, I was looking for a nail salon where I can get a pedi with my bestie when she came to town. Not only will I go here, but I will NEVER go to The Nail Lounge. Their guerilla marketing tactics are deplorable and unconvincing, at best… and a tad racist, at worst.

This place is in a small strip mall but honestly whatever they are doing to my nails it’s working! My manicure stays on twice as long without chipping!

i moved to the area about 2 years ago and i needed a good nail salon, i like having one salon that i go to. I tried a bunch of different little spots and this one has kept me and my mom coming since we first walked in. This nail salon is so accommodating, i go in every 2 weeks for a manicure and pedicure. I never have an appointment and they always fit me right in. They are so nice and gracious.

Han at Maxims has been doing my acrylics recently and she has succeeded in giving me nails that have never broken or popped off. She is gentle and very sweet. The atmosphere is also very friendly in that I don’t feel like they are talking about me behind my back when I am there (you know what I mean).

So let me tell you. This store used to be owned by my mother, Sheila for over 15 years. Store was always busy, customers were always accomadated, and we pretty much thrived on customer satisfaction. It’s such a pity to hear that this store has gone down the drain, with its staff cut down to a third of the size that it used to be, and all the loyal customers have gone elsewhere whether they followed their staff member or just found a more suitable nail salon in general. It’s true, not only are the managers there now ungrateful to the people that built up the clientels and staff, but it seems like they’re not fulfilling their end of clean, friendly, customer satisfaction. Such a pity.

Years ago, this was the salon I went to. Until I opened my own… The Nail Lounge. Since selling the salon, I still go to TNL but every once in a while, I can’t get in or my daughter wants a mani/​pedi last minute…
This Sunday, we ended up here. My daughter wanted a mani/​pedi. Walking in makes me realize why going to The Nail Lounge is worth paying a few bucks extra! The girls just pounce on you, spa chair? neck massage?, extra foot massage?, french? How come your Mom isn’t getting services? You need manicure! You want neck massage when waiting? Flower?
As I sat waiting for her I watched them do this to EVERY gal that walked in… it was so awful! In the end her mani and pedi was $ 31.00 without tip. That is NOT cheap! Figure it out girls… it is worth it to pay a little extra, be treated like a human, have a CLEAN, quality service and relax!!!

When i first moved here i desperately needed to get my nails done so i tried this nail salon closest to my apt, i thought id try this place to see what happens, and wow i was very impressed my nails looked beautiful! and so did my pedicure, Jennifer is wonderful! go see her she is good! they also do neck and shoulder massages while your getting your nails done, its $ 13.00 for 15mins. it was worth it. They really pamper you here and the ladies are sweet. beware, the massage is addicting, you’ll want to come back for more.
