Metro Pointe At South Coast

It’s not one of my top spots to go shopping but I do enjoy coming here from time to time. I don’t find the best deals but it is in a convenient enough of a location and is very clean! Parking isn’t too great but there are usually spots open on the Starbucks/Tilly’s/Old Navy side when it gets busy and there is also the option to park underground [or in a structure towards the back].
I frequent Marshall’s, DSW Shoes and Nordstrom Rack and don’t really bother with the other stores.
I am excited that Pizza Press is coming in the summer!!! [similar to Pieology/​Blaze/​etc.] I haven’t dined at Karl Strauss but I heard it was whatevs. at least the beer there is delicious! The bartenders and other staff members are all very friendly and I don’t go often enough but I’m sure it’s full of regulars because everyone acts like old friends — especially on the weekend :)

Tiny Shopping Plaza but I love it here! It has a little bit of everything. The inevitable Starbucks, geek zone Best Buy, summery PacSun, HD Movie Theater (their seats are incredibly comfortable!), artsy Color Me Mine (you buy a some sort of already made pottery and you give it color by painting, then they burn it up and make it glossy for you in two weeks. Great for birthday parties for kids, but I still enjoy doing them with a group of my friends too), fashionista Saks 5^th Avenue, bookworm Barnes and Noble, the noble $ 5 footlong Subway, sweetness overload Coldstone Ice Cream, and last but my favorite the sensational clam chowder and grilled cheese from Boudin Restaurant.
I come here to just spend my weekends when I don’t have that much to do. I go out shopping while sipping on Starbucks. I check out some of the latest technologies and skip into Boudin for lunch and if time permits, go watch a movie or something. Good for a basic date location.

Love the variety of stores here. Perfect for any occasion. One of my favorite centers in the area

What’s not to like, free parking, Barnes and Noble, Edwards Metro Pointe 12 theatre, Jamba Juice, Starbucks, Tilly’s, just depends what you are looking for.

Metro pointe is like a cousin of South Coast Plaza. It’s a nice place to go if you want to shop at stores that south coast do not have or bargain stores. These include Tilly’s, Old Navy, best buy, container store, Marshall’s, coldstone etc. My favorite places that I always go when I’m here are: Nordstrom Rack, Barnes and Nobles, DSW, Jamba Juice, and Boudin. They have Edwards cinema here as well (see review if you like). Parking is pretty good, we like to park in the underground parking structure as we always find a spot than on the top parking lot. They have live music and entertainment here sometimes which is cool. They have their Christmas tree and decorations up now too! Cute place to walk around with family and friends.

Metro Pointe At South Coast, an outdoor mall, is across from South Coast Plaza, just about 0.2 miles away actually. It is close enough that you can actually walk over, which is what my mom and I did on our long shopping day last Sunday evening (after we had finished our shopping at South Coast Plaza first but of course).
I have always wanted to go to the Metro Pointe but have never done so until last Sunday. There are plenty of shops to browse and shop at (most are visible by the freeway). On this visit, my mom and shopped at Nordstrom Rack (one of the largest in So. Cal and one of the best! Too bad I do not live closer… probably better for my wallet though), DSW Shoes and Marshalls. We would have shopped at a few more stores but unfortunately by the time we were done, most were already closed.
The next time I come over here, I may want to check out Karl Strauss Brewing Company for a bite to eat.
And maybe next time I will be lucky to check out the free concerts.

South Coast Plaza is a must. You will find high end expensive products all under one roof. Ironically, as much as I love the Plaza, I don’t really shop there. I just walk around wandering how the other half lives. So, cross the street and you will find Metro Point at South Coast. I have shopped there multiple times mostly because I can afford the products at this place. Having the Best Buy and Container Store next to each other is perfect for me. I love going into both of those shops The parking is idiotic though and during Christmas they close most of the lanes which seems to do the opposite of what they are trying to achieve, which is move traffic better. Yes, I do go to South Coast, mostly bringing visitors, but I shop here more.

The only store I can complain about is Starbucks after today. maybe not the store but definitely a couple of employees. am a frequent coffee drinker and regular customer at Starbucks. The «customer service» I received tonight was absolutely unacceptable. I watched as the cashier was flirting with the customer in front of me and did not charge him for his food and drink. Once it was my turn next it took about five minutes for her to heat up a sandwich and stand next to the heater without helping me whatsoever. I left out of frustration and anger. I tried calling the store to retrieve the cashiers name and store number but there was no answer (shockingly) so I decided to go back in the store and once again I was not greeted and once I got the attention of the other girl who was working there I asked for the store number where she gave me attitude and asked why I need it. I explained to her that I had been waiting and not recieved any help and she replied with asking me why I did not say anything if I was in line. She did not give me her name, but the cashiers name was Julia, supposedly. I am furious with the service given here and will definitely never go back to this location.

One star goes to the incompetent worker that told me to go to theater 6 for my movie. Sat in the previews for 20 minutes only to realize that it was the wrong movie! She told me to go to theater 6 instead of 5 so I missed the first 20 minutes of the movie I wanted to watch! When I explained to the manager what happened all she did was give me a refund. She didn’t apologize.
Yes it was my fault that I didn’t double check my movie stub but how do you get 5 and 6 wrong???

Metro Pointe At South Coast is a great addition to the South Coast Metro area!
I generally visit Metro Pointe when I need electronics from Best Buy or feel like testing my luck at Nordstrom’s Rack and I have to say for South Coast Metro, the parking is not bad at all. Other retailers include DSW, The Container Store and Karl Strauss Brewing as well as a very large Edwards Cinema. The outdoor setting is great for grabbing a bite al fresco and they keep the environs wicked clean.
If you want to avoid any parking lot headaches, exit on South Coast Drive and park in the rear garages as the pressure always seem to be in the main lot off of Bear.

Not bad of a place, lots of ample parking for the amount of shops it has.

has a variety of stores that range from electronics to books, to shoes and clothes, isn’t a huge place but has some nice outdoor seating and on some nights there’s live outdoor music

Maybe this is no secret at all but it certainly felt that way to me. So Metro Pointe holds these little outdoor concerts during the summertime. You can dine at one of their restaurants such as Finbars and hear the most amazing music. Last night was incredible. This group «Tribute» was playing some great cover songs, many with a jazzy Latin flare. The atmosphere was as lively and happy as one could ever expect from an outdoor mall setting. People old and young alike were dancing in the walkway. It was a great time had by all. I will definitely come back.

Outdoors, Orange County and 6 Month Long Summers!
Southern California and Orange County living are synonymous with sunshine, shopping, dining, free parking and outdoor socializing. Metro Point lives up to this lifestyle by offering restaurants, shops, a large patio area seating, weekend live music, movies and free parking.
Some of my favorite stops include watching the entertainment, The Rack, Marshalls, and grabbing a chili at Boudin. Off 5^th is opening soon.
Nothing beats nice free parking, nice weather, people watching, having a cup of coffee or juice and just hanging out listening to music. You can do this for just the cost of your drink or bring your own bottle of water and do it for free.
A great place to just hang.
Metro Pointe At South Coast… another reason the OC is the best place to live!

I would like to give this mall more stars but I had issues with parking here. I think I should just park closer to the best buy side at the end. Or maybe I have the worst luck finding parking. Shrug. I have no idea.
This mall is okay. Lots of space for big stores. It’s nice and spacious once you walk into the fountain area. They use to have bands play during the weekend nights. I don’t think they do that anymore. I mostly come here to use my Regal movie passes. The stores here are decent but a majority of them I don’t really shop at like the Container Store.

This WAS a five star shopping destination, not for the vast variety, but for the fact that i could not be in the area without checking Nordstrom Rack and Loehmann’s here first.
Now, Loehmann’s is nothing but a memory (RIP)
Why would they close??? Especially this was such a nice, clean, upscale location…
Now I am left with only the Rack, don’t think I’ll be back quite as often just for one store.
A sad day in a shoppers life when one of her favorite stores is no more…
However for others, there is a ton of parking, some good food and other shopping options, not as crowded either.

Well this place works well if you need to go to a big box store that is in here or wanna catch a flick.
The box stores are all fairly straightforward. Best Buy, Container store, Marshalls, Old Navy, Off 5^th or Nordstroms Rack (cant remember which one it is), etc there are a lot more places in here but most are of that variety.
Pro Tip: Try to park on the deck of the structure, cars in the structure are known to get broken into frequently downstairs…
They have a bunch of restaurants and a starbucks. The only restaurant I have had a very good experience at here is the Boudin. I was disappointed with the Karl Strauss and Sam Woo here.
However If you need something from one of the Box stores, they all had acceptable service and normal pricing with some sales or clearance items.

I frequent this mall on a fairly regular basis.
I will no longer be a customer. I was parked on the ground level of the parking structure with my car full of recent purchases, and my dry cleaning, that I had just purchased/​picked up when someone broke into my call stealing everything! I reported it to the «security guard» and his response was «Yeah, that happens here a lot.» Apparently there are people who sit down there with key fobs and other devices that they use to break into your car and take your stuff!
I wanted to write to the mall directly to air my grievance but couldn’t find a way. TAKE CAUTION! «That happens a lot» and they sure don’t seem to care!

I came over here to eat at Karl Strauss and he delivered.
The grounds here actually looked great– I also went into the high end swap meet, known as the rack– that place is a mad house!!!
Tons of shops here– if you want easy in and out, I think this is a better option than the mall.

There is really nothing much about this complex to talk about. I would guess that most people come here to visit one of the main anchors — the theatres, Nordstrom Rack, Best Buy, The Container Store, etc. Other than these and a food court, there are a handful of other retailers (Loehmann’s Old Navy, etc.) and that’s pretty much the complex.
The food court has both fast foods (Flame Broiler, Subway, etc.) and nice full service restaurants (Finbars, Karl Strauss).
Parking is ok during the week, but could be difficult on weekends. The basic layout of the complex is not the best and it does create some gridlocks on weekends and during busy shopping seasons. On weekends, during the day, it’s best to enter through the South Coast Drive entrance (just off the 405 freeway) and use the parking structure there. It’s usually less crowded. From there, you’ll walk right into the food court.
It’s probably a complex you’ll visit with a purpose or with a store/​restaurant in mind, and probably not a place that you’ll just stroll around as there really isn’t much there. On the contrary, I can go to South Coast Plaza or the Irvine Spectrum with absolutely no purpose in mind and spend half a day there.

I like the movie theater here. Great, stadium seating.
Parking can be a tad challenging, Im not sure how the structures are, but the parking by the shops can be a mad house — so bring some patience :)
