History

Established in 1976.

The concept for Pierce Street Annex originated in San Francisco in 1962. Though it closed in 2000, the Costa Mesa location has been in business since 1976. With over 37 years of experience, we know how to provide you with a great time.

UBER’d here for my mom’s birthday. Got a high top and waitress served us, she was very attentive. DJ was good and played a nice mix of top 40 (on Friday night). There was no cover which I love and no line which also means it wasn’t super busy. Has pool tables but we didn’t play. Drinks average price.

I give PIERCE STREET ANNEX 5 because for 1 excellent parking, 2 great patio, 3 bring your own food to BBQ, 4 pool tables, 5 DJ/​bands/​dance floor! Oh I’m not a smoker but I don’t mind that people do, so I love the old school cigarette machine. Not to mention the staff and management is the best! Can’t wait to go back!

We love p street! The staff is awesome, drinks are great, and DJ Ango is the best! If you want a fun night of dancing, this is the best place in Costa Mesa. Don’t let the dive bar category get you down, you’ll have the best night here! This place has become our go to on a Friday or Saturday night. The Manager Mike is a really nice guy and will make sure you have a great time. Look no longer, just become a reg.

I only am responding now because this is still aggravating to me when I open up Unilocal and go over reviews I’ve written. I went on a Wednesday night. No dj at the bar, no live music, about 7 people in the bar. Charging people for water at a bar should really be a question of ethics when trying to enforce safe driving, especially when there is no event. Tradition does not make anything appropriate; it just makes it a time-​honored tradition of loose ethics. I’ve never been back and have no plans to return.

Friendly staff. Chill atmosphere. I could do without the fog machine on weekends and the awkward dance floor. But overall cool bar. Also they have photo hunt O_​O! which probably isn’t important to anyone besides me and my boyfriend… Lol try and beat our high score. Just try.

Cool little semi dive bar 3 pool tables, electronic beer pong, bartender was wonderdul a very friendly cool guy. They have hamburgers and sausages you can grill yourself out back or you can bring in anything else you want to grill other than those two items. They have a dj and a dance floor

Pierce Street used to be 5 stars for me — always a great spot to dance and people watch, come casual or dressed up. Couldn’t beat it.
My friends and I recently went on Halloween. The music was terrible. I mean terrible. People were booing! One guy was complaining to the DJ and he called security to have him thrown out. Really lol?! After a second DJ took over it for much better.
I don’t know if this was a one off type of night, but if this is what it’s going to be like from now on, I’ll need to find a new favorite spot!

Pierce street annex, what a wonderful place. All of your favorite things that you want. A grill to Cook your own food, some lottery and dancing. Still beyond all of those perks to this bar you have service. I have frequent bars in the past and now I find my routine weekly stop In pierce street or what I call PSA and it is because of a bar keep named kelly. She knows your drink how to make you feel like family and even teach you about the technology on your phone. A gem of the trade and someone to visit,

I really love coming to this place! Always get great service and I love the location… However, one of the bartenders (kelly) is completely unprofessional. 2 times I have been here and she is extremely rude and very unhelpful. I simply asked her if they carried a certain beer and she refused to answer my question and directed me towards another employee since she was leaving soon. I am not one to complain, but duty calls when it’s due.

My friends love this place. There’s just something about it that gets their juices flowing. So I find myself here every now and again. Pierce St. is a divey bar with a dance floor and a couple small pool tables. It’s usually a mixed crowd with wildly erratic music. They play anything from oldies to 80s to reggaetone to top 40s to DMX. It makes it a little hard to keep your energy going on the dance floor. And for a guy with 2 dance moves, it makes it extra hard for me to vibe for more than 5 minutes at a time. As a result, you’ll find the dance floor either really packed or really empty. What I like most about this place is the bartenders. They’re always working their butts off with a smile, and they always do their best to interact with you. Overall, Pierce St. has a nice low key vibe where you can chill and let loose with your friends.

If you are looking for a place where you never know what the night will bring, this is the place to go. Great people watching. Wear casual jeans and flip flops and you will fit right in.
They just changed the DJ so the music is awesome on Fridays and Thursdays (mainly hip hop). They even have karaōke on Mondays. Sometimes they have ladies nights with cheaper drinks. Security is a little rough and I usually get pushed out of the way, patio is a great place to just relax, drink and people watch.

I used to go here ages ago, but stopped going because the dj was playing the same old songs and it got a bit boring.
Well, I’ve heard that they hired a new DJ so a couple of friends and I decided to check it out. We came on a Friday night and this DJ is off the hook. Plays music that makes you just want to get up and dance. The dance floor has never been so crowded. You can tell that «Djspinboy» knows his business. He got the crowd excited, with all his different mixes he played. You never want to sit down. He doesn’t play the same old same old crap. He feels the crowd and gives them what they want. We had the best time and we are definitely coming back to see Djspinboy. Pierce street will start seeing me more again with my friends. Just as long as they keep Djspinboy they definitely will have my business.
If you want a place to have a drink or two and get your dance on or even just to chill I highly recommend coming here especially on a Friday night.

From the look and sound of things (via Unilocal & FB) Pierce St. is a great hangout still. I’m making a note to definitely return sooner than later. What more can I say but this place holds a special spot in my heart. Met my guy here 15 years ago and the rest is history. Don’t ever judge a rebound by its timing. And don’t ever quit those pickup lines, guys. They’re always a conversation piece, no matter the hits/​misses! Speaking from experience ;)

This place is super cool to me, I love that you can bring and cook your own food outside on the grill. Wednesday nights are karaōke night. The host Julian is the bomb, and boy can he sang.
This is a cool spot to come for good company and lots of laughs. Everyone is pretty friendly. My ladies and I will definitely be back on another Wednesday night.

This place is a heck of a lot of fun. Its pretty low-​key and has a medium sized dance floor. People here are generally friendly. Don’t go here if you want to get all dressed up and drink out of fancy glasses. Its a dive bar.
