History
Established in 1978.
Pizza D’Oro and the DiPietro Family go together like zesty sauce goes over Imported pasta. Nick DiPietro Sr., his wife Mary and children opened the first Pizza D’Oro in 1968 and spent the next 10 years perfecting their Abruzzi-Italian Cuisine before they expanded…
They relocated to the Costa Mesa location in 1978 and fed crazy amounts of College kids and Nine to Fiver’s. Five years later, the DiPietro Family opened up a second location in Fountain Valley known as the «Big One» while thier oldest son «Big Nick» opened up the Huntington Beach Location in 1989 and cranked out awesome food for the Beach Culture.
Over the past 40 years, the DiPietro Family strived to bring their customers Fine Italian Food at Affordable prices. Our Family stretches over 3 generations of Pizza D’Oro employees and owners. The family invites you to come in and relax while enjoying their great food and take advantage of the many take out specials they have to offer.

Business Owner
For over 40 years, we’ve been Mom & Pop restaurants. Mom and Pop «Italian Nick and Mary» retired a few years back leaving the legacy to their kids. You can find their son Joe in the Fountain Valley Location. Their Daughter-in-law Cindy in Huntington Beach. And Italian Nick and Mary’s youngest son «Phillip» is feeding the fine city of Costa Mesa. We all hope to feed you soon!
Phillip DiPietro, owner/manager of the Baker St. Location, has been working the business for over 15 years as a waiter, cashier, busboy, dishwasher and cook. He attended 8 years at Costa Mesa’s own St. John the Baptist Elementary and even spent some time over at Costa Mesa’s World Famous Orange Coast College before finishing up at Cal State Long Beach. He took over the Costa Mesa location from his folks Nick and Mary back in 2006 and has been carrying on the family tradition of serving up Giant portions of great Italian Food and Low low prices.
