Update: the manager reached out to me and took full responsibility, apologized, and attempted to make things right. In my book that is super professional.
I am so annoyed right now. I plan my entire morning around being able to come and tan before work. This includes getting my children to school five minutes early. I am standing outside of their business and it is locked up and no one is there. I’m assuming Front Desk overslept or something. The doors are closed even though they were supposed to be open five minutes ago. This is not cool and super unprofessional.

Love this location. Great staff and daily specials. I use the upgrade often now!
Awesome different memberships and a great variety of lotions and lotion packets to purchase along with eyewear. Definitely recommend checking it out!

Great tanning results! I left palm Beach tan to come here Because the beds are much better and efficient. The girls are all so nice and Brooke is always personable, I told her she should be in medical sales. :) the prices are reasonable. I have had a monthly membership with them for almost a year and I am very happy with my experience, I enjoy the Beauty bar that provides face wipes and a large mirror. I would definitely recommend this place!

I came into this salon today with some girlfriends to see what our options were and I was not very impressed. What made this experience pretty much a done deal for me was waiting to even be greeted by someone for what felt like 10 minutes, maybe more. We were about to walk out and leave but then the employee by the name of Brooke finally came out. I asked about pricing and such and she was talking really fast for me to even understand the deals. I was then taken on a tour which was nice of her to take the time to do. The beds in this salon are mostly stand up and they look like cages, scary. One of my friends had brought up palm beach tan across the street to see if they had similar options. She was immediately cut off by the employee to just bash the business. I understand there is competition but I also think that is extremely unprofessional to say another business is «shitty» and I didn’t like it at all. The employee seemed nice but I could never tan at a salon with such little respect for other businesses.

Stopped by to get an idea of how this salons beds and prices are. I didn’t have very high expectations but I did expect a little better customer service to say the least… First of all I walked in and wasn’t greeted for about ten minutes until a girl finally came up and realized I was standing there waiting. I also noticed an employees cell phone sitting out in the open on the counter and a bottle of nail polish which I found kind of funny & not very professional. I did get a tour and the girl was nice enough but these beds are ancient looking. I have used plenty of stand ups and these ones look like cages and they are very low end and tiny. They only have 2 lay down beds I think? Which is insane and the girl did not know much about the beds it seemed.
Also you have to sign a three month contract which seems ridiculous to me. I mentioned Palm beach tan and their pricing and deals and was cut off by the employee who said «Palm beach tan is shitty!» I kid you not. Needless to say I did go to Palm beach tan and they are phenomenal, the beds are mucccccch better as well as the customer service, and No three month contracts at all

Rockstar tan is a cute little tanning salon at the triangle, it’s close to parking and it’s at a nice location… When I walked in the girl up front was very welcoming and she told me about the packages and gave me info about each one, I did sign up they offered a end of summer deal in monthly payments which was nice and you can cancel at anytime. I got a your and they pamper you or pretty much everything you bring to a tanning salon is there, they had towels, make up remover, hair ties, lotion and also had water and coffee offered, I enjoyed the stand up bed and it was relaxing and the tan developed was a great start for my uneven tanlines, they Also have mystic and airbrush tan which I’ll be trying out … Over all this was a great experience I had, I would recommend coming here again and again… Ithey great atmosphere and tanning. lol it was great!

I’ve worked in the tanning business for about 3 years. From the salons that I worked at, we were never allowed to play on our phones at the front desk, watch youtube videos, sit on the desk, etc. Almost half of the time I went in, there was someone doing just that. Needless to say, the customer service at this location is horrible. The girls look bored, and just put you in a bed without saying anything else. I’m not saying this is for everyone, but it’s what happens when I go.
The beds are decent. I’m not big on the stand ups because I stand all day at work, and they only have a few lay down beds (which I don’t recommend). The stand ups get EXTREMELY hot… Which I guess is good because that means the bulbs are always new or have minimal wear time. But bring a towel, because you’ll need it lol.
Also, be aware that you do have to commit to 3 months before you even cancel your account. I was not told this when I signed up, and when I went to cancel a month after, they wouldn’t let me. Make sure to have then PRINT you off what ever you sign, or at least go over the «contract» with you.
Another thing that I took off a star for is simply the location. The parking garage on weekends and some week nights are extremely horrible and sometimes you have to park on the top floor because there are so many other businesses around.

Been a member here for about a year and no complaints. Staff is awesome and friendly. Very clean environment. ⁵⁄₅

Had a hooooooorrrrrible experience here!!! I paid over $ 60 to get a spray tan and they only had one employee working the morning. In the middle of spraying the machine broke and she had to call the boss since she didn’t know what to do. The machine kept breaking and my tan turned out uneven and super spotty the next day. Perhaps it wasn’t the girls fault but it’s ridiculous that they don’t train them or have a backup person to help! Don’t get your spray tan here because you will leave very unhappy and yucky. Oh and she kept leaving me alone but naked in the room because she had to help customers in the front?!! Wtf!!! They need to have more than one person working!

I have been going here off and on since around the time it first opened, and have given it many tries but I’m done. I repeatedly signed up for the 3 month contracts and asked different employees if they offer an option to freeze my account rather than cancel and have to commit to 3 months each time. In the beginning I was always told no. It wasn’t until last year that I got into contact with Ryan, the owner, who was very nice and explained they DO in fact offer the option to freeze so I didn’t have to keep paying for months I didn’t need.
I had surgery one month (which happened to be the 3^rd month on my contract) and was unable to physically come in to freeze my account, and when I called to explain this, they said they couldn’t do anything for me. So I got charged and was waiting on a call back from the manager after calling at least 3 times to try and get this dealt with to avoid the charge. I do not understand why the employees could not call the manager or owner and have her call me back… it didn’t happen. I had to message the business on here and wait for a reply from Ryan. I was told I could not have a refund even though I had been trying to contact them before I was ever charged. They gave me a credit and I thought my account was frozen, NOT canceled like I asked for it to be. I used the credit this past February.
I came in today and tried to pay for one month but was told I couldn’t get the discounted price that members pay since I cancelled, which is untrue. I asked her to call the manager since there were no notes on my account for some reason. She also refused. The employee told her I purchased tans for February even though I did not-​it was my credit. I tried showing them the message straight from Ryan saying I could freeze my account so I could continue paying what I have always paid, but she wouldn’t even take the time to look and see that I am telling the truth!
In the end, I was basically told they wouldn’t do anything even though the fault is not on my end since they don’t keep documentation! How can you just tell a long time customer that you basically don’t care and aren’t willing to work something out. So I just got a «sorry» and left. I will never be back and regret ever putting money into this place. They have been very deceiving, it’s unfortunate.

Oh, what a find. This place offers great tanning with reasonable prices, especially if you go for the Sunday discount. I love the Mystic Tan and will definitely be going back again and again.

Love this place I see results quick. The staff is really friendly I just wish they had more locations!

Rockstar Tan is conveniently located in Triangle Square, however I avoid that friggin parking garage like the plague and usually park across Harbor and jaywalk. Please don’t tell my mother or Costa Mesa’s finest that I’m a criminal. Or Ryan C. I don’t want my Elite status revoked.
The place is one of the nicest tanning salons I’ve been to. Very clean, standard pricing, high quality machines. My only beef is that they only have two lay down beds in the entire place.
The last time I went was a day before the boyfriend and I went to Vegas and I needed color QUICK. So I opted for one of their techs to spray tan me. The experience was just okay when compared to other airbrushes I’ve gotten.
First, she told me to undress and she’d be back shortly. It was about ten or fifteen minutes I was standing there freezing in my birthday suit until she returned.
Second, the spray was ICE COLD. Like she was spraying dry ice on my body, no joke. At least other places heat their solution or have heaters in the room. YIKES.
That being said, she did a nice job and the color looked good for about five days. I think it was $ 48, so next time I’d look for one of the many Groupons out there for similar services. I purchased with limited time to consider price.

My ethnicity is majority Finnish & the other half is split between Norweigan & Swedish. What does that mean? It means I can’t get any whiter!
I haven’t tanned in years… years! The last time I did indoor tanning was for high school prom (7 years ago) & I worked up a nice color. It took time but I loved the result.
Anyways, I’m happy with my body, but I have always disliked my skin tone. Sure it’s awesome if you are goth but right now my goal isn’t to be so vampy.
I also don’t want to look like leather either, or a barbie.
I came in here today because after researching other tanning salons in the area, this one has the best deal!
What’s so great?

* pricing! for only $ 25 a month (went with level 2)
* all the daily specials! for 2 days out of the week you can upgrade for free on wednesdays & fridays!
* beauty bar: they have a giant ONE GALLON size of HEMPZ lotion (my fav)
What I don’t like so much
* parking (i always dislike parking garages)
* majority of the beds are stand up
* the tanning beds aren’t in separate rooms [can’t get those awesome mirror selfies:(]
Overall, great place! I forgot who helped me, but she had a nose ring & was very friendly — also didn’t pressure me too much into trying to get a 4 star membership!

I am incredibly disappointed with is place. I had froze my membership 3 months ago, and was told not to worry about being charged without my consent. Today I noticed money taken out of my account. I called manager and explained how I was told something different, dispite that this charge was done without my consent, the manager refused to refund me. I explained how I Dont even live in Orange county anymore and felt taken advantage of, still I was told that they won’t refund me. This is 40 $ down the drain that I never consented to, after calling and explaining my situation, they still refused to help me. I will never recommend this place to anyone I know.

I really wanted to like this place, but I received the worst tan ever! I even payed more to have it done right allowing the girl to spray me herself, and well not even a week later it started coming off. She told me it would last two weeks, and I also paid more for the first layer that she sprayed on that was suppose to help it «last longer.» Well that definitely wasn’t the case, and in less than a week I had to try and scrub it off in the shower after I started looking all blotchy, ouch! I didn’t take a lot of pictures but I will post the two I did take to show you what I was dealing with. The girl was really nice, but for $ 70 not worth it!

I really do like this place… the salon is always clean and their hours of operation can’t be beat. They carry a great selection of retail products, and I’ve never had to wait for a bed to become available. I’ve tried other local competitors’ tanning salons, so I have a point of reference from which to make comparisons. Overall, I think that Rockstar Tan has a lot to offer for the monthly price of membership.
Unfortunately, the location is a big drawback in my book. Maybe it isn’t really fair for me to deduct one star on the basis of location, but… then again, this is my review!
I grimace every time I pull in to the underground parking structure at Triangle Square, because it’s always packed full of cars and the flow of incoming and outgoing traffic is usually pretty heavy. Also — on weekend nights, at least — I imagine that a decent percentage of drivers might be operating their vehicles while under the influence of something, given the staggering number of dimly lit watering holes and somewhat dubious nightclubs in the immediate vicinity.
To get to the salon’s entrance, you have to navigate your way through this structure. It always seems to be bombarded with this constant flood of cars coming in and going out from every imaginable direction. Sometimes parking can be a real bitch. Also, when I’m leaving the tanning salon wearing yoga pants and hair swept up in a ponytail… it’s not usually my favorite thing to walk back to my car amongst the drunk folks visibly stumbling and slurring their words, trying to hold on to their date’s arm. No judgement here… I’m just saying!
As far as customer service goes, it’s a mixed bag, which is the reason for the other star deduction. I have had great customer service and I’ve also experienced downright rude attitude from a couple of the girls who work here. Overall, the positive experiences have outnumbered the negative ones.
I recognize that everyone can have an off day every now and then, but… I personally always go out of my way to be really friendly to people in general, which is probably why I take such an affront to rudeness. Particularly if it’s coming from someone who works in a place where I’m spending my money.
Several of the girls who work here are super sweet every time I see them. A little bit of sunshine definitely goes a long way. ;-)

Although I am moving and have to leave — I wanted to give them a review because I do recommend this place. The only cons to it are that it’s location is kind of a pain. It’s in triangle square so you have to deal with parking and walking across a somewhat dangerous intersection within the shopping center. That’s not their fault so I wouldn’t deduct a star for this.
Also there are only 2 lay down beds which are upgrades. I usually like to feel relaxed while I ran so I prefer to lay — and there’s always a wait since they only have 2 beds.
Other than that the staff is really nice, the salon is very clean and well lit.

Let me just start with this:
This tanning deal. Not my thing. I’m pale. Really pale. I burn. I want to look as good as I can, as long as I can. The women in my family live a long time. So when my girlfriend is like, let’s go get spray tans, are you game? Sure. Spray me down. No way I’m getting into a bed. Our choices are Mystic (private auto-​spray chamber) or Infinity Sun (strip, tech sprays you down wearing as little or as much as you want). We both decided the tech was the way to go.
We arrived with little time to spare in our day because we were informed that we didn’t need an appointment and it would only take about 10 minutes. None of that really turned out to be true. People do make appointments, and 10 minutes became nearly an hour very, very quickly.
It’s in a hot location, so much sun. 75% of the time or so there’s only one person staffed. Apparently weekday mornings are best. Dunno why there’s one person on a Saturday at 3pm, but for my $ 48 I feel like I should have not had to have discover any of the the list below on my own.
HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW about this Infinity Sun spray down (that was not offered to me, internet or otherwise):
— Obviously, you’re getting naked.
— Be moisturized, you know, like, that day, earlier. Hydrated, etc.
— Remember any places that you overlap, wrinkle, sag, cleavage… that sort of thing. This includes any wrinkly spots like knees (give it a little bend), folds like your boobs or your ba-​donka-​donk (another, though less modest bend), because the tech might not. Calling them back in may result in more embarrassment and unevenness than desired.
— Any eczema spots will be absorb more dye and oddly enough shed the dye much faster. I have a small patch on my arm.
— The bottoms of your feet are going to pick up ALL THE DYE ON THE FLOOR.
— Until you wash it off, beware white (clothing, bedclothes, furniture). It looks like you just dyed your hair in the shower when you wash it off.
— I got the medium. Loved it. It wasn’t orange.
— DO NOT DO IT THE DAY OF ANY EVENT. It’s much better one or two days out and probably up to 6 (for me).
Bottom line. It seems great for the people visiting beds. They’re prompt about spraying down the beds/​stand-​up types with the sanitizer. The Infinity Sun product seems to be pretty awesome and I’d definitely recommend it out.
But seriously, if you’re going to have someone spraying down naked people, please staff more than one small woman. Not only do customers need attention, the front desk needs to be staffed when she’s spraying people down.
