I had a great experience here. Mercury referred me to them to fix my rear bumper which was in an accident. Right off the bat I was contacted by Sandpiper to schedule an appointment and they helped reserve a car rental for me. Once I brought my car in, everyone was very nice and Anthony went through the entire repair process with me. While my car was being fixed, Anthony would call me every two days (at my request) to give me a status update on how the repairs were going. The repairs looked fantastic and I was in and out in no time. Will definitely recommend.

This place is amazing. They replaced a panel in my Toyota Venza. I anticipated a 200 to 300 bill.
They fixed it in 20 min. And did not charge me a thing.
The manager Aaron could not have been more helpful. He is amazing to work with. I know where I’m coming if I need them again.

I paid more than i agreed upon and coincidence or not, 2 weeks after my car was fixed my transmission went out when I have never had an issue before. So I ended up paying over 2000 dollars to have my car painted and minor fixes and then I had to scrap my car for 600 dollars. Such a huge dissapointment.

I had the true pleasure of meeting Sandpiper Collision. South Coast Toyota recommended Sandpiper to me in Costa Mesa. Why I needed Sand Piper: I hit a high curb as I exited a Starbuck’s parking lot in a rush. The impact caused a piece of my rear tire molding to bulge out/​become unfastened from car body.
I called SP first, drove up and the receptionist and then the Manager immediately greeted me. (The receptionist was also helpful over the phone giving me directions that went beyond my phone navi). The Mgr. looked at my car. Told me to wait in waiting room. In less than 10 – 15 minutes, their repair person repaired the hanging piece. It looked like new, no damage. Then, the manager says, no charge! He said it was an easy thing to fix (not from my perspective) and to not worry. He was straight-​forward, honest and kind. For any body shop work you have, big or small, please consider these guys. Their service was unheard of these days. They are not going to nickel & dime you. They are transparent! I will go to them in the future for bigger jobs. They must know that their act of generosity on the small stuff makes good business in the long run. I loved their customer service. I trust them.

First of all let me just say this — Sera, sounds like a pissed off customer b/​c she didn’t do her due diligence AND READ WHAT SHE SIGNED. A full inspection/​estimate costs $ 120 — that’s exactly what you signed up for. You have no one to be mad at but yourself for being uninformed, but sounds like it’s everyone else’s fault except your own… Lol go figure
I took my BMW to these guys after my car was hit while in my company’s parking lot. They did an exceptional, timely job and my car looks outstanding. They were very honest and exercised more than satisfactory customer service. Aaron emailed me every other day with updates on what parts were being shipped in, and managed my expectations on when my car would be ready. I hope I never have to my car back to them as I hope to avoid any damage done in the future (haha) but if I ever need work done, I will undoubtedly go back to Sandpiper Collision.

Don’t bring your business to this establishment! You know those body shops who are super nice to you when you first walk in and then the moment one thing goes wrong customer service goes out the window. That was my experience with the Customer Service Manager, Collin O’ Brien – he should really find a new job because I actually received a professional threat from him so not sure why he would chose customer service as his profession! He also has this position at Tustin Body Works and C&W Paint and Body – so heads up.
Long story short, I was sent here because someone hit my parked car – just some paint removed-​he had Mercury insurance. Went in and Collin and the front office seemed very pleasant. told me he couldn’t really estimate the paint job cuz they’d have to do a full assessment for the correct estimate. I assumed this was my only option to get a quote. I proceeded to sign a bunch of papers. I was later given a call with the actual full estimate and he was calling for permission to proceed – I said I preferred to take my car to a body shop I am more familiar with. He said one of the papers I signed stated I would have to pay $ 120. Truthfully, I sign things without reading all the pages. But I have the paper in front of me now it says its $ 120 for «Tear down and Inspect Vehicle for damage and prepare estimate» in lamens terms they charged me for a full quote. I told him if I had signed I would pay but I disagreed with it. Collin said they had to charge me for «tearing down» my car – I got really upset b/​c my bumper had some paint rubbed off and I didn’t feel it was necessary to take off anything besides my bumper. He said it was because the mechanics of the car could be affected (these were lies as you will read later). And here’s the professional threat–
Collin (very rude /​threatening voice): We need time to «put your car back together» so we have to make an appointment if you want to pick it up. Andddd I want to tell you in advance that don’t know if we can put your bumper back on.
Like really??? You have an arsenal of professional body shop workers, your customer service manager of 3 shops and you can’t even give me my car the way I gave it to you! The way he said it was a professional threat – I really couldn’t sleep that night and kept thinking he would probably just give me my car with the bumper detached or do something harmful to my car – that’s how the conversation ended – I said goodbye and he hung up! How is he Customer Service Manager???
I came to the shop with my Dad the next morning. Fortunately, I was greeted by 2 nice people who I believe he had out to null the situation. He walked past me once looked angry, didn’t make eye contact, and gave my keys to someone else opposed to hand it to me – basically 11 year old behavior. He was lucky I didn’t feel disrespected again in-​person because I was entirely prepared to contact his real boss, the Bureau, and Mercury insurance about this establishment (In fact, if this review is removed – these are still valid options I would do).
I ended up asking the front why they had to «tear down» my car because it wasn’t warranted. they said it was just «car lingo» and they had only removed my bumper (hence, not what Collin said) – this made me feel a lot better. I can only assume Collin stated otherwise so that I would feel the $ 120 is warranted-​but having someone who is disrespectful and dislikes me piecing my car back together is worrisome because I do not trust him. Also, I gave my car to a body shop before who removed my bumper in front of me in less than 10 min and didn’t charge me but whatever – I paid and didn’t complain one bit because it just wasn’t worth a headache. I gave my car to a different repair shop who charged me ¹⁄₃ the price! Yes ¹⁄₃ the price; my car looks wonderful. I’m about to start my new chapter in school to become a Doctor, and I learned an important lesson in terms of how to treat my future patients – which is everything Collin did not do in this situation. Hopefully, the money they took from me was worth it for them. If even one person reads this and delves away from this establishment that will be enough for me.

So happy with the results! Customer service is excellent and they keep you well informed as to the progress of your vehicle. Done in a timely manner. Will keep coming back for any future car issues

So happy! My car was broken into which has been a crazy ordeal in itself. I was referred to Sandpiper by Mercury Insurance. They estimated 3 days to get the new glass and clean up, but I just got the call that the car is ready! 25 hours! Staff was very helpful!

Awesome experience! Prompt, courteous, efficient, excellent service, great job on the repairs, really friendly staff. Aaron and Collin were super to work with and the car was ready earlier than expected. I hope I never need their services again, but if I did, I wouldn’t hesitate for a minute, and would recommend them to anyone I know. Great job, guys!

I just recently brought a motorcycle tank to be re-​painted here. After many miles I had some chips on the front as well as a scrape on the right side of the tank.
I worked with Aaron who told me that he would not consider the job done until it matched the original appearance.
The initial prep and first stages of paint were done within 1 week. Good turn-​around on the first go. After bringing the tank home and comparing to the fenders, it was just a bit off. The bike came with a matte/​light gloss finish and the tank was flat black (matte black). Aaron said to wait at least 2 weeks and keep the tank in a warm dry place so the paint can cure and to bring a fender or other piece so his painter could match the look and feel of the original paint.
I brought the tank back in 3 weeks later with a fender and Aaron had his painter handle it immediately. 24-​hour turn around will always win in my book — especially when it looks as good as when the bike was brand new. ⁵⁄₅ on customer service and quality.

I took some damage on the freeway from a tire and it cracked my front bumper. I decided to buy a new bumper, have it painted and put it on myself. I took it in to Sandpiper Collision and they gave me a great price and the paint job was amazing. Matched the color dead on. Aaron and Colin were very helpful, friendly and got the job done very quickly. I put the bumper back on and it looks new again, will be recommending Sandpiper Collision to any family or friends needing bodywork for their car.

Sandpiper Collision does the body and paint repair for CA Beemers, next door to them. They did a repaint of some panels of my 2010 BMW 328i Coupe, color Space Gray Metallic. There were some bad paint issues with the car, so CA Beemers where I bought the car, sent me to them. They were supposed to paint the hood, left front fender and left door. When I picked it up, the manager Aaron Lawson told me that they also painted the right front fender because it didn’t look quite right to him.
The paint looks awesome and I’m just giddy with my car. I’ve oogled it many times since I picked it up and it still makes smile.

Had a bad experience here a few years back… Probably about 5 years ago now, I’m a procrasinator :)
So I was hit by an elderly woman in my Honda Civic and my insurance recommended this place. They seemed to do a great job on the cosmetic issue but had to replace the rear glass for some reason. My first issue was that they claimed to have shattered the original glass so billed the insurace for a new rear window. (Seemed a bit shady but not out of my pocket, and it COULD happen, I guess.)
Next I realized that bc the antenae was inside the rear window, and SANDPIPER HAD NOT CONNECTED IT PROPERLY that my RADIO HAD NO RECEPTION. I contacted them and they asked me to bring it in again, but it was already such a hassle to do the repairs the first time and I was not looking forward to having to leave my car again for several days. Anyway, I waited a long time before finally bringing it in, maybe a year or so. When I did the guy said he would try to fix the antenae but that it was broken when they installed it and bc I waited so long he would not do the whole job over.
So essentially I have a crappy radio bc of Sandpiper’s poor repair job, and I will admit, some of my own procrastination. But seriously, where’s the customer service. It sucks to have to bring your car in and they could have shown a tad more understanding and just done the job right the SECOND time since THEY DID NOT DO IT RIGHT the first time. As if I went back there, took out the rear window and then put it back with the radio disconnected or something…
My advice is inspect everything and if you notice something wrong. BRING IT BACK IMMEDIATELY. If they give you a hard time contact your insurance. I did this but bc I waited so long my insurance was unable to help.
OR just GO SOMEWHERE ELSE THAT DOES THE JOB RIGHT THE FIRST TIME!!!

I’ve got to say, I was hesitant to bring my car here after reading some of these reviews. I’m soooooo glad I did. Their customer service was top notch. Tayna (?) called me to let me know they had received the paperwork from Mercury before I even took my car in.
I decided to take it in the next day and they have a deal with Enterprise for car rental I was indecisive about renting a car. So she informed me I could decided when ever I wanted and they would make they arrangements for me at a rate of $ 20 a day. I searched around and found that I couldn’t find a better rate (insurance company’s were still processing who’s fault. And I was concerned I would be stuck with the bill.) So I called Tanya and everything was smooth sailing for the car rental.
The first day they had my car I received a phone call, Chris (?), quoting me the $$$ damage. Two days later Chris called again to let me know they were in the process of repairing my car. A few days after that I got a call letting me know my car was now being painted. The next day I was informed my Mirror would be here the following day and installed and that my car should be ready the following day. Then I got the phone call letting me know my car was done and being washed.
I was really concerned about the paint. My husband had told me silver is a hard color to match. There was no need to worry. Plus while we were looking at the work I commented in passing about an old nick. Chris says, wait here I might be able to get you an extra bottle of touch up paint. So we left absolutely happy and with a spare bottle of touch up of for the grocery cart dings :-)

My car was parked on the street and in the middle of the night, a drunk driver slammed in to it and did major damage to my vehicle– in all honestly, I should have pushed to have the car totalled out, but it was only 3 months old and the original estimate from Sandpiper Collision was for $ 9000, so my insurance company agreed to have the car repaired.
The original estimate also stated that it would take three weeks– it ended up taking five. Once I got the car back, it would vibrate at speeds above 50 mph– they hadn’t fixed the alignment and had to replace another tire on the vehicle. Ok, another three days without a car. Also, they put all my insignia on wrong or just didn’t place it at all.
Now it’s been another year and I notice some wires hanging from the bottom of my car– I take it to the dealership and they tell me that I’m missing a large piece on the bottom of my car that is supposed to protect everything under there– this is Not Good because I take my car camping/​on dirt roads and it would be really easy for major and expensive damage to be done in a place where I wouldn’t be able to obtain a tow — Now I’m going to have to call Sandpiper and try to schedule an appointment to get my car fixed (something that will likely take another full week, me without a car in the meantime), and it looks like they’re going to fight me on getting it fixed (based on other reviews).
Worst of all, the final cost of the repairs was over $ 13,000 on a car that only cost $ 18,000– so the car DEFINITELY should have been totalled out and I should have taken my settlement and bought another new car! Now I’m stuck, upside-​down in this junkheap that’s just exited it’s warranty and is likely to have two years of problems before I’m able to pay it off enough to trade it in and start the process of car ownership all over again.
SO BEWARE — if Mercury recommends this repair shop to you, do your best to find somewhere else to get your car repaired.
EDIT — I went in, they confirmed that they «missed» the shields on their specs when they did the repair work, even though they showed me a printout of the specs with the undercarriage shields CLEARLY on there. Anyway, they’re going to order them, then I’m going to have to schlep down from Los Angeles to get them put on the car which will probably take 15 minutes.

Unfortunately I had a bad experience at Sandpiper.
I got rear ended in my new car. Mercury Insurance recommended Sandpiper, so I took it there for repairs. I had damage to my rear bumper and trunk from the accident. SandPiper, or its management, picks and chooses what they want to repair on your car. A week later, they call me refusing to fix my trunk.
Call my Mercury agent, she calls Sandpiper and tells them to fix it. She mentioned she got a hard time from them, even though Mercury is paying for all repairs. They fix it. Then I found out that they didn’t want to replace another part. The manager, unprofessional, argued with me and refused to replace the piece, so I called my agent again to deal with it. Luckily she had more patience than I.
They call me when it’s done, I go to pick it up, my car looks like crap. The fenders and bumpers didn’t line up and they forgot to replace a few rubber weather seals between the new body pieces. In addition, the car was having «new» electrical problems. The manager agreed to repair the outside, but said they would charge me $ 200 something to take it to Toyota for the electrical diagnostics, and if it wasn’t from the accident, they would charge me. Intimidating me so that they wouldn’t have to fix my car. I told them to take my car back and fix it or I’d call my agent a third time, they took it back.
They call me when it’s done and dropped my car off at my work. In all honesty, the car looked 90% back to normal. Over it, I just took my car. It wasn’t worth the hassle dealing with them any longer.

I hit a possum in my Challenger SRT8 in December and it tore off a 6 inch chunk of the splitter/​chin spoiler, cracked the front fascia and put stress cracks in the fender.
Mercury directed me over to SandPiper and after looking at the car they gave me an estimate of 7 days for completion of repairs.
I was kept up to date on the progress of the repairs via daily phone calls and they finished the work in 7 days as promised.
The repairs were well lined up and look to have been done expertly, the paint however on the front fascia (especially around the fog lights) was poorly done and has numerous pieces of debris under the paint.
The stripe guy they used lined things up fairly well, my only gripes are the lowest piece of one of the strips is slightly skewed and the top pieces still has some slightly bubbling towards the edges. (I was told the bubbling would go away when they dried out)
All in all a good experience, would have been 5 stars but as with many things in life the devil is in the details.
