Toni is amazing and the sweetest! Dr Sundine is so down to earth and kind. He is also very knowledgeable. I trusted him with my 3 week old’s ear correction and he was so gentle my baby didn’t even wake up during the exam or application of the appliance! Definitely recommend him!!!

My 10 year old foster daughter was referred here by dermatology. After waiting over 1 month for an appointment we walked in to an empty office. We were immediately put into a room where the dr walked in 2 minutes later. Examined her, answered our questions and agreed that this painful cyst needed to be removed. We felt extremely comfortable with this Dr! Unfortunately she has MediCal, so we need to wait for an approval. Toni, who is the front office witch, let us know we would get a call in about 2 – 3 weeks, and rushed us out. That was June 29^th. August 5^th, after leaving numerous messages with the exchange, she finally answered! I told her I was calling to see if they have received approval from the insurance. She said her insurance was expired. So, instead of calling me, she just ignored it! I then let her know that there was a glitch in the system for a couple days, but everything was fine. I told her she should have called me and she stated that it wasn’t her problem… I then said «well, I left messages», she stated «your not urgent» SO UNPROFESSIONAL!!! Must be because my foster daughter has MediCal! I asked her to please put it through again. She said she needed the new card info, I explained that it was the same. She said she did not have the chart, so give her the ID number. I gave it to her, she asked for my call back number, said she will look into it and HUNG UP! Unfortunately there is no other Plastic Surgeon that accepts this insurance, or we WOULD go elsewhere! It’s very unfortunate that such a wonderful Dr has rude, incompetent staff, that obviously can’t and shouldn’t deal with people!
Today is August 11, and still no return call from Toni. Once again leaving messages for her through the exchange!

First, I’d like to say how nice and welcoming Toni is in the front office. She is an example of how a front office person is suppose to be, AMAZING! And plus she’s a RN, so she knows her stuff. I researched and consulted with 6 or 7 good rhinoplasty surgeons prior to me finding Dr. Sundine. I feel so lucky to have ended up with him. And knowing he’s a facial reconstruction specialist made me feel even better about my selection. His demeanor and attitude towards his craft shows he knows what he’s doing. When I mentioned his name to other doctors they ALL had nothing but great things to say about him. He thoroughly explained what to expect BEFORE and AFTER surgery. He doesn’t cut corners to get the desired outcome and it shows in the results. I had an accident which caused my body to go into septic shock resulting in much of the cartilage in my nose being destroyed. During my consultation he explained exactly how we could get my nose back to where it was prior to my accident. And he did just that! I am really really REALLY happy with my outcome.
One other reason I like Dr. Sundine is there new location. They are in a medical office building BUT Dr. Sundine’s office has it’s own private entrance on the side. This is nice because after your surgery (when you are not as pretty and/​or a little bandaged up) you don’t have to be subjected to possible embarrassing moments while passing or sitting with other patients. I have already recommended Dr. Sundine to other family and friends because I know they’ll be well taken care of. I highly recommend Dr. Michael Sundine, he’s the BEST!!!

My 6 year old was at legoland and cut his upper lip pretty bad and it required stitches… our pediatrician recommended Dr. Sundine… he was so accommodating (and his nurses). He arranged to meet us at the ER on our drive home to perform the procedure. He was kind, professional and did a FANTASTIC job. I later found out he operates on cleft patients so he was obviously a perfect fit for us:) They provided excellent follow-​up too and were super caring.

Not to mention, you can’t hardly tell my son cut his lip, it looks perfect!

We are writing this review to WARN others, so what happened to us does not happen to you. We came to Dr. Sundine when our son was 2 – 3 weeks old to have him assist us with a non-​invasive procedure that is done on newborns to help with ear deformities, called Earwells. It has to be done within the first 4 weeks of life, therefore the doctor did know that we were certainly on a time restraint and unfortunately took advantage of that. We were told a few different times by both the doctor himself and his office manager that insurance would cover it. They knew that we were outside of network, seeing that they took our insurance card at the initial appointment. They mentioned that since it is on a newborn that insurance would cover it and that they would help us throughout the process to make sure of it. They requested payment upfront, which we did, as we trusted what they told us. After asking for assistance with the insurance company the office manager gave me some advice which unfortunately didn’t work. After months of working on appeals, dealing with the department of insurance, spending in more appeals, I tried to call the doctors office twice in hopes of getting assistance and didn’t even receive calls back. I wrote e-​mails to them and instead of getting assistance I received a threatening letter stating in some many words, if we couldn’t afford it then we shouldn’t have done it in the first place. The resolution and how they decided to handle this situation is what led me to write this review.

A consult will costs you $ 150 upfront; and is non reimbursable. I’m sure Dr Sundine is a great surgeon by all accounts. But the follow up and customer service is pretty much non-​existent. After my initial consult and fee, there was not a peep from the office. I could call and inquire but I figured if the coordinator is uninterested in a follow up what interest would they have in helping me.

A true professional. His work is superb and his ability to calm and assure parents of a child having surgery a blessing. Dr. Sundine made a very stressful, scary process into a straightforward, approachable challenge. Our family will be forever grateful for his artistic skill and talent as a plastic surgeon.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Dr. Sundine and his office staff. They are so knowledgable and helpful. I would recommend his office for serious craniofacial issues as well as cosmetic surgery!

My daughter, currently 11 months old, was born with a bilateral cleft lip/​palate. At 6 weeks old she started wearing a device called the NAM. She wore this for 5 months. When she turned 6 months old, she was ready for surgery. Well, the surgeon that was supposed to do her surgery couldn’t get her in for 3 months!!! We called our craniofacial team at CHOC and told them of the situation. They had us call Dr. Sundine! Best thing we could have ever done! The receptionist, Toni, gave us all the instructions we needed to get authorization to be seen by him. Within 24 hours everything was squared away and we were seen by him that same week! This was incredible! Everything does happen for a reason!
When we met him, we just knew that our daughter was in the best hands ever! He was so caring and compassionate and took the time to answer any and all the questions we had for him. He booked her surgery for the following week. Talk about impressive! We couldn’t have been more pleased!
He performed the lip repair surgery on her as an outpatient procedure… incredible! Her healing time was so rapid and the best news is… the results are amazing!!!
She just had her palate surgery along with her lip pits (little pits on her bottom lip that are associated with the cleft) removed 6 weeks ago! Another incredible job! Our daughter had to stay in the hospital for 2 nights and Dr. Sundine made certain he came to visit her every day she was in the hospital to see how she was doing. This meant so much to my husband and me! Again he answered all our questions and was ever so caring!
We could not have asked for a better surgeon for our daughter! He really is an incredible surgeon and wonderful man! I highly recommend him!!!

Dr. Michael Sundine to the Rescue…
I have found myself wanting to yell from the roof tops! I needed «botox and laser treatment for spider veins» with Dr. Sundine and I LOVE my results.
Being in outside sales, it’s always critical to provide a great first impression! I’ve always been active and find myself outside often; even with proper use of sunscreen, I found over time I noticed my skin seemed aged and I noticed smaller «spider like» veins forming on my cheeks and nose area. I thought that this was just a part of aging and had noticed that similar family members had the same situation.
I was completely bummed as I always looked tired and I didn’t think I was never going to be able to «fix» these issues, rather learn to live with them.
Dr. Sundine to the rescue… After visiting 2 other board certified plastic surgeons I choose Dr. Sundine. Not because he was the least expensive, he was in the middle, but because after I interviewed him, and looking at the before and after pictures of other patients, I felt that my expectations would not just be met, but exceeded.
I would do it again in a heartbeat! And plan to for the Botox! It was a minor procedure and Dr. Sundine and his staff take GREAT care of you. He even called to check up on me after to ensure I was happy!
Bottom Line — Dr. Sundine helped to make me look rested and more importantly, my age!!!
