My husband has been talking about this place since we moved closer to it. He loves it and suggested it as a bar to hit for St. Patty’s day. My husband couldn’t have been more right about this place. It’s small and unsuspecting but such a blast. The people were cool, the cooks were super nice… I am thinking they were only that nice to us ladies. The best is that the bartenders can certainly pour a good drink. St. Patty’s day was nuts, but in a good way it was $ 5 for a huge plate of food, that was also pretty good. This is «our“new bar.

The bigger places(La Cave and Pierce Street Annex) get all the attention, but this is a find that many people that even live in Costa Mesa don’t know about. The one dollar tacos here are freshly made and the servers are a little grumpy but the beer is cold, they have pool tables, a nice library vibe, and a young fun crowd.

I really enjoy this place. I first came a few years ago on a Halloween when I couldn’t get into Pierce, i also lived in walking distance. Only recently now that I live in Santa Ana, have i started to come back. I typically go out alone, and this is one place where I feel okay doing so. Sometimes there are typical OC people around, but typically its pretty chill. I usually go on Sunday nights so its random. I recently went on Saturday and it was packed but really fun. Last Sunday this nice young couple even bought me a shot, and said Merry Christmas! How sweet. Charlie is usually the bartender and is super cool. I’ve seen everyone eating these tacos and have yet to try… so ill do that soon. I love the JuteBox, I play tons of music, which is my favorite aspect of a good dive bar. I only wish they had Ciroc!!! xoxoxo the lil knight is my new spot for sure :)

Four and a half years ago, I set off to lunch with a couple of my co-workers to Taco Tuesday. I figured we were headed to El Torito or maybe Baja Fresh, but when we slowly pulled in to the parking lot of The Little Knight the WTF?!-o-meter went off. I had probably frequented this establishment once in my lifetime, likely while underage with my «borrowed» ID. It’s a dive. The essence of what Guy Fieri concocted into the idea of Diners, Drive In’s and Dives. They swore up and down that these tacos, and more importantly the sauce, would have me hooked after the first bite. They were right. It really can’t get simpler. Flash fried corn tortillas. Ribbons of iceberg. Diced tomato. A blend of Mexican cheeses, and olives — if you are so inclined(me, not so much). Served over perfectly spiced ground beef. What grade of meat? Don’t know, don’t care. We call them dog tacos when we introduce newbie’s on their first visit(it’s next to a kennel after all). Now, the sauce is another animal. Although many Unilocal!reviews claim that this is made in house, it’s actually purchased online. How do I know this? Because I buy it by the boat load. You can find it online( ). Specifically, the Original California Style Hot Pepper Sauce. For $ 1.00 each, you can’t go wrong.

This is THE Costa Mesa/Newport dive bar. Great little place full of colorful locals and down to earth chicks if you’re lucky. It’s the hang out for the gutter punks, the 50 something afternoon golf pack, some hipsters, seriously, this is the original beach town melting pot. MOST importantly, the tacos and homemade hot sauce are UNBELIEVABLY good! They have breakfast too and lots of TVs for sports. I love this place.

small litto dive bar close to pierce. tiny, really. pool table. bar. patio. juke box. old people. cheap drinks. crowd wise, it’s not very diverse. it’s the same olé people, day in, day out. but it’s chill. just the right amount of people, and music looking to relax and have fun without gettin’ all rowdy and douchey.

Little Knight is fab, but definitely a dive bar. Aged and Dark, but with it’s own charm. The crowd was chill and the tenders were attentive and friendly. Tacos on Tuesday for $ 1 is a deal, especially since they’re fully loaded! The tunes are loud and awesome. It made for the perfect quick, cheap dinner with the girlfriends after work.

The Little Knight is a local Newport/Costa Mesa watering hole that is away from the loud and chaotic atmosphere of The Goat Hill Tavren and The Penninsula. Inside you will find Deer Hunter, a pool table and a couple of TVs playin Fuse or ESPN. The crowd consists of local JC kids, older life-long OCers, and sometimes, some east coast looking people. Sometimes, cougars and professional mistresses(allegedly) also roam the small hunting grounds that is the Little Knight. Drink prices are better than the Goat. But not that much better. And the selection is smaller. But this bar does have a less touristy feel than others…

Excellent day/night drinking dive bar. Has all the great elements: –cheap drinks –strong drinks –juke box –pool tables –smoking patrio –local drunks –yuppies –local bar sluts –plenty of flat screens for sporting events –this dude that always tells me it’s his birthday every time I see him there I heard they serve amazing tacos here? Word to the wise: I’m fortunate that my friend lives walking distance but beware of pulling out to this spot onto 17th, it’s a dead giveaway for cops. Park across the street or cab it to avoid any troubles.

If you like dive bars… Little Knight is the place to be!!! I’ve been a regular here for years and it never disappoints!!! Theres always some scene to chuckle at. or even if someone is annoying as hell there; it’s always fun to talk about the next day! I love to meet up with my friends there and hang out on the patio. What more can you ask for after a hard week of work!!! a nice stiff drink and good conversation… or errrr funny atleast! There is always some funny floozy there or some drunk douche spilling and trying to get laid… But it’s hilarious to say the least. So if you want a good drinks, good prices, entertainment, and good food…(the best tacos you’ll find around!!!) Little Knight is the place to be!!! P.S to the girl that paid $ 8 for the well drink… Im guessing they didn;t want u around cuz it’s $ 6! But for anyone who has been here knows that the drinks are a sweet deal!!! no watered down drinks here!!!

Only came to this place one time for Breakfast. Let’s see… Let’s see… Well I remember the breakfast being SUPER cheap like $ 4 and they gave me a huge plate of randomness like eggs, bacon, hash browns, and cheese… BUT…all mashed together?!? Ya I didn’t ask for them like that but… thanks! it was pretty good not gunna lie. The drinks were cheap I bought a round it was only like 9 $. Crowds of 50 somethings surrounded me, I think I had to be the youngest one at that bar… Nothing jumped out at me though. I only stayed for about an hour and then headed to the next dive… can you guess? YUP its the goat…:sigh:

The crowd at The Little Knight is friendly, to say the least. Like, reeeaally friendly. When I went, for example, a very cordial new friend sidled up to welcome me to the bar before I even had my first drink served. It was more of the same throughout my short, late Friday night visit. Hell, by the end of the evening, even a dude was picking up on me. Wowzers. Okay, so people might get a bit drunk at The Little Knight. But guess what? The service is really quick, the drinks are cheap, and everyone is having a great time. They have one pool table, but good luck getting on that. Speaking of cheap drinks, here’s some cool ideas of what you can invest your savings in! — A cab ride home. — A bicycle to ride home. — Some spiffy, yet comfy shoes to walk home. Enjoy!

One of the best bars I’ve ever been too. I went on a Thursday night with the bf and the best friend and we were able to find a table all to ourselves. Ordered a large pitcher of Hef and a couple of shots of cazadores for me and the bestie. I also got an AMF later in the night. The beer and shots were reasonably priced, the AMF wasn’t watered down but isn’t too strong either. I wouldn’t call this place a dive bar though, because the prices aren’t that cheap. Since we came on a Thursday, there was dollar tacos!!! We got 4 tacos between us, and they came out hot, fresh, and fast. The tacos were pretty big and quite delicious. The bar is tucked away on the street, and it can be hard to find if you don’t know where to look. The service is great. The bartender was fast and nice. They didn’t play the music too loud, and the only person who bothered us the entire night brought us tacos. Overall, I would come back here. If only I can find a way to get my drunkass home safely.

The pepper plant sauce is amazing. I bought a bottle and took it home. 6 $. Other than that, this is a run down ghetto hole in the wall! I have been there a couple times, went last night to watch the laker game and the 2 girls I was with were scared. There were pirates, trolls, all kinds of weird medieval stuff going on. I think the last straw was this super drunk girl trying to rack the billiard balls and looked like she was snarling and contorted. Some real x-files material. Go if you like to get drunk around a bunch of agro guys and 2 or 3 females max. I would go again, just for the shock effect. Not a relaxing place.

I happened upon this place last night and was kept amused for a couple beers worth of time. I rarely go out in Costa Mesa, despite living here, however I’ve noticed that whenever I walk into a bar in CM I feel like I’m in a movie set in slow motion… upon entering and throughout my whole time at a bar guys stare and occasionally point, but in a very neutral way. It is truly bizarre b/c *I’m not exceptionally attractive(just moderately) *I’m not exceptionally unattractive either(just sometimes) *More often than not I don’t wear outlandish clothing *I’m not physically handicapped *And I’m not much of a scene maker(especially upon 1st entering a bar)…Anyways it’s both unnerving and flattering. This strange occurrence mentioned above happened at The Little Knight too, hmmm… Anyways There were chatty old men alcoholics, low key bro hos, men with jerseys, and moms taking a night off… A good mix… The bartender was way speedy too, despite the place being packed I barely had enough time to walk over to the bar before he was making eye contact and asking for my order… The music was great… Black Sabbath, Zeppelin, and other rock staples… Last night I fell in lust with The Little Knight.

The tacos are ok but for a buck, its a great happy hour option! Its a little hard to find since there isn’t a sign, but its right next to the Peet’s coffee if you need a landmark to find places; like me. Their salsa is surprisingly good if you like yours with a kick; its the fresh one, not one of the pre-bottled ones. I fell in love with one of their bottled ones that I’ve never heard of; garlicy and great as a marinade as well. Now if only I could remember its name…
