We are quite proud of the fact that we produce our custom sofa line in the good olé USA and more specifically, Los Angeles, CA. While most of our competition has ventured abroad for cheaper price points and labor, we take pride that we continue to operate a locally run factory that supports our economy and country. Not only is this unique in today’s day and age, this also allows us to watch over every single sofa that gets delivered. We understand our success so far has been due to our level of personal service and attention and will continue to produce your products in your neighborhood.

History

Established in 1998.

Established in 1998 In 1998, three college friends started The Sofa Company to finally make the process of purchasing a sofa — fun, fast, and simple. Along with the motto «you design it, we build it» came the promise to continue to innovate the selections available and make the process of buying a sofa enjoyable for residents throughout Los Angeles. With large showroom in Santa Monica, Pasadena, Downtown L.A. and a factory clearance center in Commerce, we now can say quite confidently that we have the largest selection of styles, sizes, fabrics, legs, sofabeds in the city.

Business Owner

Jim Hwang, Peter Lien and Nick Ostroff were friends from childhood and decided to open a custom furniture together shortly after graduating from UC Berkeley in 1997. Originally the first warehouse/​showroom was located in the film district of Culver City, CA. After learning the tricks of the trade during the early years, they have now started expanding their retail presence throughout Southern California (Los Angeles).
