History

Established in 2010.

Originating from a family of creative individuals, I began at a young age rearranging spaces in our home. Having traveled the world, I realized I had a true passion for design and found myself working with various colors, textures, fabrics, and materials. My experience and skill set grew rapidly as friends, family, and neighbors greatly approved of my work and requested me to design more and more spaces.

Today with the creation of our retail store: Zach Cole: The Collection we’re able to mix the best of both design & planning with rapid selection of materials and furniture pieces from a wider variety of furniture & accessory vendors from local sources to international, as well as our own custom creations.

My goal as a designer is to create spaces that are livable, yet practical. The design process begins by carefully listening to our clients. Together we create the ultimate design, which is a true reflection of their aspirations and needs. Through a range of computer generated images, sample materials, color palates, and various options so the client can quickly experience the finished project.

I highly recommend these guys. Zach did a great job on two rooms of my house. I’d love to think I’ve got great taste but he thought of all the little details i never would have thought of. Their store is really cute as well, with lots of great ideas you won’t find elsewhere. Stop in and check them out

We only had a few small projects at our house, but Zach was instrumental at helping my wife an I out with both. First, he helped us to decide on flooring and carpet colors and saved out behinds. We were going to go dark, but he showed us that with the small amount of sunlight coming into our house that light wood and carpet would be a much better idea. He also picked our new wall colors, design for our patio doors, and advised us on art work. His ideas helped to brighten up our living room /​dining room and patio area to something we are extremely happy with. We are now looking to move and once we find a place, we will be having Zach come with us to advise on all of our design needs!

I had a great experience working with Zach Cole Design, we finished up a project about a month ago and I was very impressed with Zach and Ryan’s professionalism and eye for detail. They are both super friendly and very helpful, I’ve been to the store on Harbor a couple times and I think it’s a must-​go if you are looking for modern, quality furniture and décor in Orange County.

My girlfriend Fabiola and I have stopped into Zach Cole design several times. I ordered a nice blue rug that goes well with the beach styled décor of my house and it arrived within a week. I’m very happy with it! The service was great and Fabiola had many nice things to say about Ryan. We will be back.

I used Zach Cole design services to get the ball rolling on a fairly large kitchen remodel. Zach was very helpful at our first meeting, he gave me some good insight on what was possible and reasonable for this huge undertaking. Zach got me in touch with a great contractor and helped me pick out materials and some finishes. He even helped me pick out a few appliances. Zach was always very easy to get a hold of and responsive to calls/​texts/​emails. He’s a good listener, who seemed to understand what I wanted. He visited the the sight on a few key days and helped coordinate my needs and wants to the construction guys too. I really appreciated his assistance during this stressful project. I think it went as smooth as it could have. Zach Cole Design is great!

I contacted zach last year to help me redesign my living room. He helped me pick out all new furniture, rugs, and decorative pieces within the budget that i had laid out. He picked out items that I would never have thought to put together, but they all look great in my living room. I wish the time line to complete it all was shorter, but eventually it all got done and I’m very happy with the result

This review is for Zach’s design services (the store is completely gorgeous and we are so honored that my artwork is being sold there).
Zach provided design services for the downstairs rooms in our home as well as helping us choose the overall paint colors for our home. He has an incredible knack for color and form. He was able to suss out my husband and my own often differing tastes and create a home space that is equally stunning and livable. He is very patient and willing to give a lot of options — although we found ourselves coming back to his original suggestions nearly every time. His ideas are unique and original while still staying true to our needs as a young family. We’ve received tons of compliments from folks who’ve come to our home (even total strangers!) but more importantly, we love coming home everyday!
We are so pleased we are asking him to help us with the kitchen and bathroom remodels now. Thank you, Zach!

Stopped into The Collection this afternoon to browse around. I have been in the market for some eclectic pieces to fill my living room/​dining area in our Newport vacation home. I was AMAZED with what the store had to offer. The employees are super friendly and were very helpful in picking out pieces that fit our style. I came in to «browse» and ended up leaving as a very happy customer!

I don’t usually write reviews, but since I’m beyond thankful for Zach Cole, I needed to. I’m in my mid-30’s, I throw a lot of dinner parties and get-​togethers and I really wanted my place to look as if I put just as much energy and taste into my home as I do with my wardrobe. I don’t want my friends walking into my home seeing furniture Crate & Barrel or Restoration Hardware (but within that budget). It’s been done by everyone and their mothers! This is why it’s so hard for me to decorate (UGH). I needed direction. You can only do so much off Googling «interior design images» for ideas. Plus, there are a million designers out there. How would I know which I needed to be looking at. I met with Zach himself. I told him I wanted «conversational pieces». I wanted people to walk into my house and say «Holy $*#! your place is GORGEOUS!!!» I told him my style, my vision, my ideas and more importantly my budget. He came to my house and we literally figured out exactly what I needed and wanted. Got this chandelier from CFC (wish I could add pictures on here) it’s like the funkiest thing. True art! He got me coolest rug and then the most amazing piece of all, my Nathan Anthony sofa (yea, I never heard of him either) this couch makes my place look like it’s a magazine ad. Can’t thank Zach enough for what he did. I would have never found those pieces. Literally, just added a couple great designs made my place spectacular. I’m obsessed! I love coming home and seeing how beautiful and different it is. Thank you Zach and your team!!!

We hired Zach to help with our entire house remodel. He helped us conceptualize the design for a difficult layout and created a 3D video that was extremely helpful for us to visualize his plan. He met with us both at our house and at a tile store to pick out materials. Zach has a very good eye for colors; everyone who comes over loves our paint colors and asks for the names. His ideas are fresh and different. He added his own twist to our concepts and came up with unique ways to address our needs. He was able to take different preferences from my husband and me and meld them together into a design that we both liked (not a small feat). Our remodel was challenging and we were pressed for time since I was 6 months pregnant. Zach was flexible working with our schedules and he was extremely responsive to our calls and texts. We really enjoyed working with him and highly recommend him for any design needs.

After searching Unilocal for a couple of days for an interior decorator/​designer, I decided to email Zach Cole Design for an at home consultation for a large living room furniture remodel, kitchen back splash design and managing and decorating a new room addition. I spoke to Mr. Cole and made an appointment for a Saturday morning and eagerly looked forward to our appointment. Based on his reviews and website, I thought we may have found the person who could manage our project. Well, Mr. Cole never showed up or bothered to call or cancel. Needles to say, we found someone else for our project.

I can’t speak highly enough about Zach Cole’s talents. He transformed an older house in our neighborhood into a marvelously tasteful, livable home. I was sorry we had already re-​done our kitchen without a designer’s eye, because I know we would have paid less and gotten something more reflective of our own tastes. Zach doesn’t impose his taste on the client as much as upgrade the client’s own taste. (I think of him as the designer equivalent of MSG.)
I didn’t need him to do a remodel, but welcomed his consultation to arrange my existing things in a more beautiful way. He did such a great job I’m having him do my window treatments next.

We had the opportunity to work with Zach Cole a few months ago to remodel our kitchen. Zach guided us every step of our the way from layout design to finishing décor items. He was most helpful coordinating colors as he has a spectacular eye for that. He was patient with us and never pressured us to make a decision we were not comfortable making. Zach was hands-​on from day one and provided valuable advice during each step. We were also very impressed with his keen attention to detail. Zach did an excellent job listening to our needs and made suggestions that we loved but would never have thought of on our own. Zach made our remodeling experience fun and very memorable. Our kitchen looks so much better than we ever imagined it and we absolutely LOVE it!

Zach is not only highly creative, but also sharp and organized. He is amazing and a talented designer. I really like his color sense and interesting use of material and unique perspective.
He was instrumental in turning my vague but fussy ideas about my ideal home into concrete plans for action, lining up contractors, shopping for furniture and accessories and monitoring the efforts of contractors and deliveries. He was always accessible, professional, extremely detailed, honest and cognizant of codes, laws, and regulations. He helped me extrapolate my desires into areas of design that would have not occurred to me on my own which was a fun experience. I was extremely pleased with the outcome and would work with him again in the future. I must say that he can think outside a 1500 square foot box.
