Tired of seeing the same gear at every music store? Check out the largest selection of used and vintage gear in the North Bay.

We are a community music store and commercial sound/​video installation contracting team, located Cotati California. We feature the largest selection of used guitars, bass, amps, effects, drums, keyboards, and recording gear. Plus lots of new stuff and accessories too.

We offer private and group lessons, Rock Overtime (a band camp), instrument and amp repair and a professional pro tools recording studio.

History

Established in 2010.

Zone Music was an iconic music store in Cotati California for almost 30 years. In 2010 Zone went out of business so six long time employees opened this new store two months after Zone’s demise.

We are grateful to have been a part of Zone Music history and are really excited to have rebuilt this new business.

Thanks to our consignment model we already have hundreds of unique musical instruments in stock and have expanded twice. Now we are the same size as the old store and have 11 employees.

We are thankful for the great community support we have received and will do our best to continue to help our customers, friends and fellow musicians with all of their musical endeavors.

Loud and Clear is the epitome of all good things Cotati. Bought my first guitar there and it’s still one of my prized possessions. Aside from being a customer though…
I did a few stories on Neville in my journalism days and they are honestly a perfect example of what a local business should be. Charitable (restring your thing!) talented (LoudTV) educational and entertaining (Bandcamp).
I hope to drive through good ol’ Cotati and see Loud and Clear for years to come.

I was able to find a missing part for my keyboard right here! The staff here are definitely helpful and accommodating. Definitely doesn’t hurt to call ahead if you’re looking for something specific. My only regret is that I got quite a scare when I came into the store– their store dog wasn’t too friendly. Unless I know for sure that the dog would not be there, I will not be returning.

Love this place! I needed a new mic stand ASAP, and they had them at very reasonable prices. Then I needed a new suspension rig for the new mic stand (second trip), and they had that, too. All of the employees I spoke with knew what they were talking about, which is great. They also have a full selection of cables, for emergencies. Heck, I’d go here for non-​emergencies, just to support a local outfit. Five stars for the selection and service I received. A hypothetical sixth star for the Star Trek: The Next Generation character cardboard stand-​ups that decorate the store. ;-)

Good store. Good gear, nice people. Go there and buy stuff– you won’t regret it. After having negative experiences at other music stores in the area, it is really nice to know that there is a cool local music place I can go to. Awesome store.

Loud n clear is one heck of a musical resource for Sonoma County. Nigel et al are very helpful and approachable… no musical show offs looking for an audience, these pros are there to help you find your groove. They have all kinds of unique equipment with a heavy influence on «the good stuff.» I used to be an online guy but if a musician really needed a friend trade cyberspace for this real place. Prices are comparable and no shipping, no waiting, and complete on site customer service.
Let this post ring Loud and Clear… best stuff in the county’s right here!

These guys are always incredibly helpful. I recently needed by get some strings as a gift and they asked me lots of questions and made sure I got the right ones. They also carry the drum sticks I use, and I can’t usually find them anywhere else.
I’m impressed with the selection they have and the staff that works there is incredible. They made me feel comfortable asking questions and helped me get just what I wanted.

Every trip into Loud and Clear is a new adventure! They have the best collection of used and vintage gear in Sonoma County. Neville and his staff are incredibly friendly and know the business. They often have community events and fundraisers that are great to attend and support as well.

They’ve got a great selection of vintage amps and guitars. I didn’t find many guitars that did much for me, but their amp selection is great. They have drums, keys, recording gear, etc. And Kent did some work done on my old Airline amp here, and it sounds fantastic now.

Being a regular, it’s been great to see Loud and Clear grow since it began just a few years ago. The stock is impressive. This store is big on consignments, so it’s like going treasure hunting every week to see what old guitars or amps are up for grabs.
That being said they have developed a great inventory of new gear as well.
The staff are very friendly and not out to sell you something you don’t need.
When looking for new gear I always pop in here first, and I’ve purchased from this store on more than one occasion strictly to support a great store.

Zone Music /​Loud and Clear Music are not the same store, but the same people and same spirit.
Loud and Clear is one of the only music stores where the employees actually know their gear. Like me, they are gear geeks. I would go as far as saying that my present tastes have been molded by the staff at Zone /​L and C Music.
After years of buying and selling searching for the «perfect tone» I have ended up right where I started with the original suggestions from the bass department.
Going to other stores like GC is a joke. Those guys are like a bunch of D students running a classroom. Totally useless and ignorant.
Loud and Clear is the REAL DEAL. They know me by name and know their gear. It’s a music store run by musicians. They serve the community and there is a lot of pride there. People is Sonoma County feel protective of that place, too !

What can you say! These guys were fabulous. I tried what ever I wanted to demo. They went out of there way to make me a great package deal, Kala Uke, Yamaha Amp, Instrument Cord, Strings. One item Concert Size Uke case, they special ordered without any hassle
Even saw Frank, the old owner in there.
These guys were even doing some kind of charity fund raising by doing restrings.
My son has bought several guitars here back the lst 7 years under Franks ownership.

Very very nice people! I walked in, first time, and was introduced to everyone in the place, like a family. I was invited in and made to feel welcome. They helped me find the things I needed (a couple of basic items as a music newb) and gave me a few pointers. Great place!
