This place sucks.
I wish I had 4 hand so I could give it 4 thumbs down!!!

Could & should win the dubious award for the shaggiest, most unkempt golf course in the USA. This short yardage pitch & putt course is part abandoned lot, part farm junkyard, & part swamp.
If you are a high handicap, newbie golfer this tract is not recommended. Your off target shots will land in 4 foot tall grass that will eat an entire dozen golf balls before you finish the nine holes. Also, this is NOT a place to practice putting. The rough & bumpy greens will ruin your timing and stroke when you play a real golf course.
I’m a 9 handicap, so this course was less boring that whacking repetitive balls at a driving range. At least I did some walking. I carried my bag which was sort’a ludicrous. The only clubs a semi-​decent golfer needs for this place is a pitching wedge and a putter.
I wouldn’t return here even if someone paid for the round and bought me lunch.

Friendly, scenic, zero-​stress beginner course with enough interesting holes to keep a good player interested too. Perfect for sharpening your wedge play or spending a sunny afternoon outdoors with your kids, or both.

Great, no-​pressure, no-​stress course for novice golfers. This course is relaxed, and we observed groups of five playing together, a fellow with just several clubs, etc. The executive, longer course’s greens are in poor shape, but for beginners, it’s perfectly fine because it’s a good place to practice. The short game course’s greens were a tad better, but the holes are very short. It’s play as much golf as you want, but after the 18 holes, we were ready to get something to eat. A great bargain golf course, we found their best deal for a tee time online directly on their website. Look for the hot deal that’s about $ 7 per person including fees! Worth it for beginners to enjoy the game and not feel pressured by many groups/​players behind you.

First off, let me say that this review is based on expectations and realities of what this course is… its not a country club, a resort course, or even a muni. It’s a bare bones pitch and putt. So, if you aren’t expecting too much, this course is fine. I played alone on a Wednesday at 11:00, and there was only 1 other single player and a twosome on the course. That was it.
THE GOOD:
— Price: Paid $ 5.00 (plus $ 1.99 booking fee) through GolfNow Hot Deal. All you can play. Great deal!
— Course layout/​scenery: Great routing. Lots of elevation changes, ponds and little drainage creeks. Trees and cattails throughout the course make it very pleasant. The surrounding area is rolling hills and farms, and a herd of cows keep you company along the 4^th hole.
— Pace of play: Played the regular course in 40 minutes and the short course in 20 minutes. There was no one in front of me, so I could go as fast as I wanted.
— Clubhouse: Nice, large clubhouse with a snack bar, pool table, TVs, ping pong tables, etc. Not sure why they need such a large facility, but its nice nonetheless.
THE BAD:
— Course condition: Not sure where some of the previous reviewers played when they said the condition was good, but it sure wasn’t here today! The teeing grounds are mostly dirt with patches of grasses here and there. Many of the greens had areas of dirt and splotchy grass. The greens that were all grass were extremely furry and full of weeds. They were cut to a level that you would find most course’s fairways at, and were either super wet or super dry, depending on which hole you were on. This makes trying to putt virtually impossible. After the 2^nd hole, I decided to putt with my 5 wood to get some practice on shots I would normally hit from just off the green or slight rough.
— Signage: Along with many, many tee markers missing, there are a few holes where you aren’t sure where to go to get to the next hole. They have a couple very small signs (like 3“x5″) on a few holes directing you to the next tee box, but if you are directionally challenged, you could get a little lost.
— Short Course: Almost a waste of time. The greens are either all dirt, super splotchy, or so thick that trying to putt is a waste of time. If all you wanna do is practice your chipping and pitching, then it’s ok.
OVERVIEW:
All put together, I would recommend this course. Just understand what you are getting and lower your expectations accordingly. Its a great place for beginners and families, or for those looking to sharpen their short game (the longest club I used was a gap wedge). Found the great $ 5 deal on GolfNow, but I’m not sure I would pay much more than $ 10 to play here (which you can find on a regular basis). So go play, but don’t expect too much.

This is a very family friendly golf course. First time i went I saw three familys together and I was bringing my little «older» cousins for their first round. We had a great time. There was no rush so we took as long as we wanted and even played some holes twice in a row with there «all you can play» we went back through for our favorite holes, or the ones we did the best on haha. We stuck to the executive course because we didn’t want to put any presure on the other familys with younger kids. Made it quit convinient.
You definitly get what you pay for. This course could use some work but should not stray you away. I find it to be in a very convinient location but it may not be to others. If they had more customers I’m sure they could invest more into the course. The condition of the course did not make it any less fun for my family and I.
The young gentalmen working the front desk and doing landscape is very polite and made us feel very welcome. We had a great talk about the course’s history.
I plan on going back everyonce in a while. I’m sure my cousins will continuesly come here to get there game together before trying more challenging courses.
Currently there is a groupon available that I would take advantage of expetialy if it is your first time going. Otherwise it is still a great price for any day of the week.

It is what it is. And that is a good thing.
Some of the greens are in bad shape, only a couple are in good shape. For the most part, the fairways are in good shape (even though, with the format, there isn’t much fairway to consider). The tee boxes are also in fair to good shape, although, as a previous Unilocaler noted, sometimes the markers are missing. The layout is actually quite nice, especially for the executive course; elevation changes and a surprising amount of holes with water hazards in play allow tee shots to mimic a tough approach on much longer holes.
I suspect that its location and format make it difficult to make enough money for the course to do a lot more with maintenance; even under the best of circumstances, there is a limit to how much most golfers will pay for an executive course and, with the location, how often they could/​would go. Still, I have really enjoyed rounds at the course, especially with my kids; is comfortable for them and, yet, still presents a challenge. And I love that I can often play for $ 20 or less for all three of us; the website offers discounts on certain tee times and I have found vouchers on Groupon and Living Social. Additionally, the staff (Mike and Corey?) have been polite and very accommodating — that counts for A LOT, by the way.
So, yes, it could be in better shape. But I am becoming a regular none-​the-​less. Definitely worth a visit, provided you are not a greenskeeping snob.

I’ve been here a number of times. The course has promise and could be a fun 9-​hole par-​3 to work on the wedges, but the greens are in terrible condition. The last time I went, they hadn’t been cut in so long that I literally couldn’t put. Many of the later holes don’t have well marked tee boxes, so you don’t know your yardage to the green, and the rough looks like the amazon. I actually switched to the pitch and putt (their other 9-​hole course), but those greens were so burnt that many were just cracked dirt or brown, brittle grass. This will be a fun course when the management makes some investment into watering it and keeping it up.

Great little course to practice your short game. They just need to put a little more TLC mostly on the green’s.A good place for young first time player’s to start at.

This course is a neat concept that helps you focus exclusively on your short game. For $ 14.50 per person (including $ 2.00 online booking fee), we spent 3 – 4 hours there playing the par 3 executive course twice (80 – 128 from black) and playing the short game course once (35 – 80 from blue). In truth, the short game course seemed more challenging because it required greater control (good for practicing half-​swings and quarter swings).
This is a good course for those starting out in or getting back into golf, as it forces you to stick to the basics (hit straight). The long grasses on either side of the fairway can digest your golf balls. If you slice, a) close your wrist and b) bring some extra balls.
TIP: If we were to do it over again, we wouldn’t have booked online and paid the fee. If you just show up, it’s $ 15.00 per person (even cheaper if you find a Unilocal deal like «buy one get one»). There were two or three groups there when we arrived at 10:30 on a Sunday, and they were scattered throughout. No wait. You get to play all day here with one green fee.
They’ll fire up the grill for you if you stay for lunch — order the cheeseburger (it’s a double) and comes with macaroni or potato salad. Then, go back and play some more. Food and beverage must be purchased on-​site, but it’s pretty worthwhile considering the relatively low cost green fees.
The clubhouse is a work in progress, but the staff is pretty nice. Since the courses are small, at times it seemed like holes were converging on each other; it helped that the staff gave us some helpful directions to get started. Otherwise, the trail is pretty easy to follow. The black tee zones are marked with very slender tiki torches or small black flags. As you’re looking for the next hole, take an opportunity to look around and enjoy the scenery. Bird calls are constant, and the water hazards help you play the mental game.
We’ll likely be back, with friends in tow. See you on the course!

Great place to spend a few hours.
There’s two 9 hole courses; one that’s very short — 50 to 90 yards per hole and one that’s a bit longer — 90 to 140 yards per hole.
The longer course wraps around the hills and grants amazing views during the greener seasons of the year. Rolling hills and distant farm animals litter the horizon.
The rates are fair and the staff are very friendly. Bring your own rolling cart unless you want to pay $ 3.
I would recommend this place to everyone that’s a 10 handicap or worse.

ALL-​YOU-​CAN-​EAT-​GOLF
Very well maintained. When I was a kid, I had always wanted a small house on some large property so I could build my own pitch and putt. Well, I don’t need to do that anymore because Washoe made it happen for me. I can’t believe the great variety of holes for such a small space. Very well maintained. You won’t use anything more than a 7 iron (average golfer stats apply). This is miniature golf for the grown-​up range rat. No windmills. Plenty of water. Surprisingly challenging. Why spend $ 10 on a bucket of balls when you can practice REAL golf shots out here? And the bucket doesn’t run out until you get tired.
We would all drop about 10 strokes off of our handicaps if we practiced here regularly.

Fun little place good for a different day of practice good value

Washoe creek is virtually the best golf arena!!! It’s reputation precedes itself, especially the players lounge!!! The beauty of the course actually made me cry on two separate occasions! If you are a golfer who loves to play golf to improve your game this is the place for you. The incredibly friendly staff are both helpful and capable in supplying you with all of your unique golf needs. Prepare for a challenge in every way, mentally, physically, spiritually one man one nine iron one chipping wedge and a putter against the world. Colored shirt required. Country club level club house, monthly tournaments. Prepare to have your dreams come true, at washoe!
