I had no idea greyhound racing was this fun. It was a great time to watch and learn how they differ from racing horses. They are loyal, fast runners, and it seems to be in their blood. They fly around the track after the bunny at extremely fast speeds. I still am clueless how to figure out who will win. They have a small grandstand area on the bottom with a single person taking bets on a saturday so that was a little frustrating but you can get right up on the action and they move the races along faster than horse races so there isnt a huge break in the action. They also are neighbors with casinos so you can kill time before and after over there. They could probably update their amentities but I imagine the sport is being attacked by activists so it’s probably a big risk…

Wow, first to review the dog races, and they’ve been around forever! When you walk in the front door and take a look around, you’ll probably understand why: not your typical Unilocaler crowd. The dogs did a little Unilocaling, of course. Ha ha ha yuk yuk ork ork ork hee hee hee… sniff…*wipe tears* The typical fan here is a regular, almost all older men, quietly studying their forms and presumably winning more than we did. One more important point: It’s free. So anyways, we happened to stay across the parking lot at the Country Inn and Suites and I hadn’t been in many years, so we decided to walk over and check it out. The facilities doesn’t appear to have been upgraded much since my last visit(before the casino). The track facility was kind of ragged. I have to say, though, we came in with pretty low expectations, but we ended up having a great time. Kids can’t go up to the nicer, main betting/viewing area these days because they have slots now, so we were relegated to the«grandstand» down by the track. The stands were about the same size as the ones at my daughter’s grade school gym. The nice thing here is the viewing room where they show the dogs before the race. We were about the only ones interested in seeing the actual dogs, but it was a lot of fun for a 6-yr-old and she’d go back in a heartbeat. So we bet a couple dollars on a few races, lost them all, then picked winners for the next two races we didn’t bet, of course. All the track employees were very nice, it was a nice sunny September day, we had a couple of beers and sodas and had a lot of fun. It’s a nice alternative for all of you Unilocalers who figure you’ve tried everything.
