STILLTHEKING! Best carnitas around(at least tied for the title). For sure the absolute BEST chips and salsa around. Hands down, in my opinion. Still quality food, even after Ray sold the business. Same staff, same feel. The place looks a little more decorated now. A CLASSIC!

This place can’t accommodate big parties 13+ Don’t bother. The lady in the front said we were next and the male server seated another large group who arrived after us. First he said its because they have 11, then he said they were here before us. Hmmm. I like it when the other group name was squeezed in smaller writing ahead mine. Manager comes out and tells me they don’t make reservations. I told him the lady said we were next and the male server skipped us. No, I’m sorry, no hey we fucked up, no accountability, so 1hr and 15 minutes later we left and went to CRAZYROCKINSUSHI spent $ 500+. I’m so glad we did not stay

Perfect for breakfast on the weekends, but on sundays it can get busy so try to get there before 10 am. My go to order is the Burrito Del Mar. Its so delicious and a good size portion to eat half and finish the rest later. The shrimp enchiladas are another great choice.

After attending our Saturday night church service my wife and I stopped in this well known neighborhood establishment for a lite dinner. The restaurant was quiet, we were seated quickly and a friendly waitress arrived to take our order. The Mini Taco appetizer looked good so that was my choice and after a short wait, it arrived… and they were delicious. Three potato tacos, three flautias and three taquitos with guacamole… a full meal! Ray’s has been around for quite awhile, so stop in and see why!

I love this place! The food is delicious and affordable! We usually get wet burritos. I love the chile verde burrito. They are very generous with their portions! The staff is really friendly! We normally wait about 10 minutes for our food to be ready and we rarely wait to be seated. We will keep coming back :)

I’m 23 and I’ve been coming here since I was a kid, the service has gone way down but there’s a couple friendly faces. The food is still great!

Chips and salsa are really good here! But I really love their carne asada plate. Really cant tell you how much flavor it has, because it’s overwhelmingly good.

This place has the best wet burritos! They’re huge! The Hollenback or Okie are my favorite, they come with a lot of meat sauce and are reasonably priced! No doubt you will get full if you order one. They don’t offer much in the way of alcohol selection, just beer and lame wine margaritas. They enchiladas, beans, rice and salsa are also very tasty. If your throwing a party i recommend the 5ft long burrito they sell for about $ 800-$ 100 which is awesome.

My brother invited us to join him and his family. In all my 25 plus years of living in the area I have never been here. I finally made it. It’s a plus when you see Packers memorabilia anywhere. Well right off the bat chips and salsa. I believe if you have to pay for chips and salsa it’s not a Mexican restaurant. Service was prompt didn’t take long after we ordered until our hot plate was in front of us. I ordered a combo plate of 1 taco, 1 enchilada, and 1 Chile relleno. 1st time here wanted to play it safe. I never thought I would say this but there was a lot of queso on the plate. No worries just put some of it aside. The chicken taco was really good not shy with the chicken. How can u mess up a cheese enchilada? That’s right it was good. Chile relleno was good maybe more cheese inside then on the outside. Very good atmosphere lot of families and regulars. Only downer was the urinal looks like it needs repair. 1st time and probably not the last visit here.

This Mexican Restaurant has all the typical dishes. For breakfast we get the chilaquiles or the Huevos Rancheros. The rice and beans don’t take fresh maybe a day or two old. The favors are good but not like my moms that’s for sure. It’s an ok place to get some Mexican food.

We really enjoyed the breakfast here, we stop by on a Sunday morning the service was fast and friendly. We had the Menudo and Chorizo plate. The Micholadas were cold and refreshing! Overall a great dining experience and look forward to coming back, it is a 35 miles travel but well worth it. .Enjoy your meal.

My wife and I came to this restaurant the other day. Here is the thing about restaurants serving mexican food in southern california. There is a lot of competition. This establishment seems subpar. We enjoyed the food but quickly realized their was no differentiating factor about the service or food. We could’ve made these meals at home beans and all. The inside seems old and silverware and cups were old. I won’t come back usually when we go out and pay for a meal we would like food that we can’t make at home. Sorry but this place seems to be living on borrowed time and reputation.

Their garlic/butter shrimp is the only thing on the menu that is worth eat here. Their food has gone down hill, & the restaurant itself, is very dirty. I wouldn’t come back.

I mean… this place was good, but not the place I’m gonna suggest to all my friends… Ordered the two taco combo with chicken. Nothing too exciting or bad about it, just seemed kinda meh. The chicken could use some flavor. I did lather everything in Tabasco so maybe I messed it up? The rice was good, beans tasted like beans. My friend however, bless her heart… She ordered the bean and cheese burrito, vegetarian beans. Boom. easy peezy right? So her burrito comes and she opens it and immediately takes a bite and spits it out. Oh, ok hi pork burrito with refried lard beans. What?! No. how do you get pork & refried beans from someone saying«vegetarian bean and cheese burrito» I don even hear a «puh» sound like if pork was even misheard. Anyway, it’s a Packers bar too. If you’re into that team. Won’t be back, don’t frequent West Covina much. Pork.

Been coming here for a couple years and stopped by for breakfast one morning and had my standard machaca dish. What happened to my machaca? The dish was bland and downright greasy. I only ate a few bites and I was done. I guess this is good for my diet, but not how a meal should be. They have a new paint job and decorations, which is nice, but I’d rather have great food. Service was fine… I don’t know if I’ll be back anymore though. Such a let down. Somethings changed.

This has always been one of my favorite Mexican restaurants. The food is always delicious and they give alot of it. I always have leftovers when we leave. The staff is always super nice. Two of my favorite dishes is the chicken mole and the cheese enchilada plate. Everything tastes as if its homemade and fresh. They also serve fresh chips and salsa while you eat there.

Best Mexican food in the county! please support this local business! It is delicious, hospitable, & the prices are reasonable! Come on by. They are closed on Mondays! But they have deals every other day! I get the carnitas tostada — I crave this tostada! It’s amazing with loads of lettuce, cheese &CARNITAS! Yes. Actual meat! My gf has everything from chilaquiles to huevos rancheros! She loves it all. Rays is the place to be. You will it not leave hungry. And you’re gunna want to give them more money for how great the food is! Thanks Rays!

I’m not sure why Ray sold this restaurant. It was doing quite fine when he was running it then all of a sudden new ownership comes along and everything starts to diminish slowly in quality, service, food, environment, over all experience — not the same. I was in there today to get a bowl of albondigas and the rice that came along with it was very bland and untasteful and not up to old teypac standards. The worst part of it when I asked for cilantro more than 80% of it was made up of the cilantro stems itself.(pic below) The service just isn’t what it used to be either. It’s so sad to experience the failure of a restaurant you grew up enjoying.
