Sinclair Air Systems

Back when we were remodeling and decided to add Central Air, only Sinclair agreed to do the install and reasonably priced. The other two companies we called advised us that the ceiling crawl space was just not high enough even if the section only had beams at that time which should make the install possible if not easy. Rick showed up and did not see any problems and got the units installed and coordinated with the electrician and contractors.
Almost ten years later, Rick shows up again and saves the day.
Last Sunday, during the expected heat wave, our unit would just turn on for a few seconds then shut down. We realize it was a busy time for service calls with temperatures at over 105 so we just waited until they have someone who can come over since we survived without A/​C before although that was 10 years ago.
So, Rick shows up today and diagnoses that the unit just needs freon, calls his office as he goes to another call. 20 minutes later, Eddie shows up with the freon, charges the unit and we are good to go again hopefully for another 10 years.
But if this unit goes out, we know who we can count on to give us a great price and properly replace the unit.

This is the place to go for all heating and AC needs, you can’t go wrong! From my initial call I could tell this was the right company to do business with (No sub-​contractors here). Very friendly, helpful, and willing to go the extra mile. I went into the store and met with Rick (owner) to choose a new unit. He didn’t try and oversell me, but instead let me know what was best for my house based on square footage. He is very knowledgeable in all aspects and able to answer any questions. He was always available throughout the whole process or any member of his crew was also able to answer questions. His crew (again no sub-​contractors here thank god) are a reflection of Rick, they are all very knowledgeable and do very good work and will take the time to explain questions if you have one. I couldn’t believe how fast they were able to complete the installation of a 4 ton unit within 3−4hours! Very fast and clean. Sinclair also works with the HERO program (I used it) which is very helpful if you can’t afford to pay for a new unit upfront. I am very pleased that I called Sinclair, I made the right choice here unlike other choices made. Highly recommend PEEPS!

So in April we contacted Sinclair Air for a quote to replace our HVAC system. They quoted us $ 4800 for the system. We didn’t commit because we were working on other remodeling projects and our funds were tied. Sinclair Air offered us a deal, we would pay a portion of the $ 4800 when the system was installed and the rest later. That was pretty generous, and they were slow at the time so it worked out for both of us.
The installer came to install the system, checked out the existing system and said we needed new ducts, we have about 7 ducts total and they wanted an additional $ 1500 for that. Seeing that they were already there, we figured we had no choice and agreed.
While taking the old system down from our attic, the ladder for the installer slipped and he dropped the old system and left a nice gash on our closet door and door trim.
While removing the old thermostat, he left a nice gash in the wall. Not only t hat but dirty hand prints all over the house.
He made one more mistake that would not be discovered until June 16^th and the reason for this post. Apparently while installing the system, he stepped on a pvc pipe for the drain. By doing so all the condensation from the system didnt drain, but accumulated in the ceiling.
On June 16^th we came home to a leaking ceiling. No one has been in the attic since the HVAC install so we called Sinclair Air, they sent a tech out on June 17^th, Wednesday, and discovered the error.
We were told someone would call us back on Thursday. We did not receive a call, so we called Sinclair Air, they told us they have been busy and have not met with the tech in the office. We took pictures of the damage, and emailed them. The tech already spoke with someone from Sinclair Air over the phone and notified them of the issue.
I call Sinclair Air again on Friday at 2pm to see what the status is. At this time the lady told me she was the only one at the office and was busy. It is summer season and is probably very busy for them, but how they run their office is not my business or problem. If they decide to not staff enough employees to handle the busy season, it is a decision they make that impacts customer service. The lady told me they will call me Monday.
I wait for their call Monday and around 4pm again with no calls from them I call to see what the status is. The lady has Rick call me and he goes into a spiel on how he offered me the payment plan and he asked if I got quotes from other companies. I told him him I did not seek quotes from other companies and I simply went with him. He goes on about how he offered the payment plan and how he probably saved me at least $ 1200 from competitors and I should be patient as he tries to get his paint guy out here. He said he would call me back on Wednesday the 24^th to schedule the paint guy to come out. Again like the rest, no call from them.
Accidents happen, we were calm and patient with them. I only expect one thing, if you say you are going to do something, do it, dont make me chase after you for an update. The least I expect is to keep me updated, dont make me call to get an update when you forget to call.
How a company responds when there is an issue speaks volumes, so far Sinclair Air gets a fail in that department.

Very disappointed with the service. I was a returning customer. Scheduled appointment for a maintance check for my home, I even confirmed appointment three days prior so I could take work off and tech guy never showed up! He wasn’t late, he just never showed up! There wasn’t even a phone call…

I called Rick for advise on some electrical issues I started having which have nothing to do with the Air Conditioning. Rick called me right back and asked me to come in and get some supplies (at no charge, that just doesn’t happen these days!)
I dropped in for a quick visit picked up the supplies he offered. I no longer am having the electrical problems THANK YOU RICK AND SUSIE!!!
Lunch was delicious as well (another sweet gesture.) I can not say enough about Sinclair Air.
Our home is a happy cold home again. I Thank God for good people in the world like Rick and Susie.

It has been three years since Sinclair installed my new A/​C and heating units. Today a technician from another company came to fix by A/​C as it had stopped working; a new capacitor was needed, which is not the fault of Sinclair. However, the technician found that the return air duct had been improperly installed and had fallen onto the ground below the house; it had been taped into place, and because it was weight-​bearing due to the angle, it had pulled out. Also, other ductwork is drooping and hanging onto the ground, which is most assuredly a sign of poor workmanship. Aside from the fact that Mr. Cortez billed me for his business license in my city, in its entirety ($ 172), I now have to pay for repairs for things that should have done properly at the outset. I am sorely disappointed and would absolutely NOT recommend this company.

I’m in my cool home thanks to Sinclair Air Systems. From the first time I called the receptionist was pleasant and called me back with the status of their arrival time. They gave me several options for the repair work. They were hard workers, courteous and cleaned up when the job was completed. When closing the work-​order, Rick Cortez offered additional energy saving ideas. Staying COOL. Thanks to the Sinclair team.

I was recommended to another company that is well known for AC installation. The other company said they would give me 3 quotes depending on the quality of the equipment, basically generic vs name brand. The «Generic» was $ 200 less than the «Top of the Line.» I ALWAYS get a second opinion. I jumped online, and found Sinclair. *** I never mentioned the other quote… Rick came out, (cool Guy!!) and he left me with a quote. To my surprise, Rick’s quote was WELL UNDER (I’M talking THOUSANDS!) the quote from the other AC company! AND FOR THE EXACT SAME AIR CONDITIONING UNITS! I could not believe it!!! The installation went great, I’m freezing in my house! Rick saved me a total of $ 4,646!!! FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS! Always get a second opinion people and you will be amazed!!!

WOW! I s all I can say about this company… called on a friday evening was told they cannot come out until Monday, which I understand was told that they would call me Monday morning to schedule a time… guess what… No call! so I called them back on monday they said they would call me back and let me know when they could come out… 4 hours later no call!!! Call them back again and now all of a sudden I am the next on the list for service and they say that they will call me with an ETA… wait until close to 5pm still NO CALL!!! Now they say they could not get a hold of my landlord for approval!!! So I give them the benefit of the doubt and trust them to call me the next day… guess what NO CALL!!! I call my landlord and he said that he gave approval in the morning guess who never called me? Sinclair Air!!! I called them and they proceed to call me a liar and say that they called me and I didn’t answer… Okay, because I want to sit in 1 97 degree house for the 5^th day in a row right??? Then when I told them I will be Unilocaling them the lady just got ruder! I will NEVER use this company again!!! I will be letting my landlord know of their substandard service and all my friends, family and colleagues! This company is the most unprofessional I have dealt with!

It would be amiss of me if I did not post a review for the exceptional service that Sinclair Air Systems provided for my family and I. First off I have to comment on the remarkable customer service this family owned operation has to offer. Completely professional but with a refreshing touch of affability and courtesy. Susie truly made me feel valued as a customer and went above and beyond to ensure that my air conditioning unit got diagnosed and repaired promptly and had a service repair specialist out to me that afternoon. I truly appreciate the integrity and honesty this company offers to their customers by always doing what is best for the customer. Sinclair Air Systems goes that extra mile to ensure the job is done to meet their high standards of quality service and to excel the expectations of the customer’s service. Sinclair Air offered my family and I a genuine experience of quality and professional service and it is without a doubt that they now have a true customer for life.

Sinclair Air Systems installed my Central AC unit YEARS AGO… (When I was married), I am now a single mom on a VERY LIMITED BUDGET! I had remembered how awesome their customer service was at the time of the installation, took a chance and called them July 3^rd when my AC decided to die! My kids were complaining about not being able to sleep in the heat. To my delight Rick not only serviced my AC BUT HE CAME OUT ON THE FOURTH OF JULY! I was afraid of the cost, but he was COMPLETELY FAIR in the price! I cannot tell you what a comfort it is to find honesty in a business these days! THANK YOU RICK CORTEZ AND SINCLAIR AIR!

Nice people and all. But do they stand behind their work? I don’t think so. A week after they did some work on my A/​C, I called their office asking if they provide warranty on their service. I got a call back saying they’d call me again to see whether they can have someone come over Saturday or the following Monday. Well, never got the call again. So word of advice not just for this place, before you have them come over, ask if they provide warranty or they stand behind the work that they do. For those in the Covina area, look up Hempel Air. Great guy to work with and totally stands behind his work.

Countless times I have been rescued by Rick and his staff when I have air conditioning and heating problems. They always have given me prompt service and I have found them to be honest and beyond helpful. Thanks so much for the recent bail out RIck!

GREAT people and company! I called them at 6:30pm and they were here by 7:30am the next morning. Susie was awesome as well as Rick. Alex did the work on my A/​C and was great! I’d give them 10 stars if I could! Use them… you wont be sorry!

I have to say, these guys are great people.
I’ve used them at my office and at my house and my parent’s house.
They offer great service and have really jumped thru hoops for me.
I’ll be a customer for a long time.
