Cool place with decent prices. Some of the stuff is wildly overpriced (like dress shirts for 14.99) but there were a bunch of gems in there that I passed on. Great customer service overall and their deals are way better than goodwill’s because they actually have items in the store in the color of the week! Definitely worth checking out if I’m in the area again.

When I first started coming to URM I would have given 5 stars hands down. I started shopping here a LOT. There’s been days where they have had 50% off sales and I’ve spent between $ 200-​$ 300 in one trip sometimes a couple times a month. A lot of their items are between $ 1-​$ 7, so I was buying hundreds of pieces of clothing. Now, considering the proceeds benefit the rescue mission, you would think this would be a good thing and maybe the employees would be kind. However, they seem to have disgruntled staff that despise people who spend money. I never get a salutation as I arrive or leave.
A few months ago I bought a vintage wedding dress that I had been eyeing and when I asked to buy it the employee took it down off the wall and literally dragged it from the back to front of the store. It was previously covered in plastic from the cleaners but now had been dragged on the floor and was dirt streaked. Kinda ruins the bargain factor when you have to pay to get a WEDDING DRESS cleaned. I asked her for a discount and she gave me the regular 25% off that you get when you shop there on a Tuesday. Not to mention that the price had fallen off and she insisted the dress was $ 80 and not the $ 50 I saw before. My husband had to come back to the store when he got off class to speak to someone and get a refund and discount.
Another time the same staff member, an older woman with black hair, was complaining for nearly an hour about her hours being cut short and how she always asked for more hours and couldn’t get any. Funny how this is supposed to be non profit yet they don’t seem to be treating their staff or customers (students, seniors etc.) well.
I bought an antique couch only to learn it was broken when I came to pick it up with a truck. They did not refund me any money n I was left with a broken couch I couldn’t sit in until I could pay to get it fixed a few months later. They told me it was a couch from a movie set and I got it for $ 350 which was cheap according to them but I don’t see what that was going to do for my living room with no seating.
I think it is unprofessional for them to sell or accept broken items when they have customers that are of a certain demographic.
Lastly I went yesterday and they had a small promotional sale. I found a nice button up for my husband. As I was browsing for myself, I set the shirt down n when I picked it up the tag caught on another item and ripped off. When I brought it to the front she told me she wouldn’t honor the sale since the tag was detached. 1. There was no tag on the wedding dress but she discounted that for me. 2. They use staples as tags if I was trying to be sneaky I could have re-​attached the tag.
I just walked out.
Thanks urm for starting out strong then getting greedy like most thrift stores.

Good clean store, good quality options you just have to have time to sort through. I don’t understand why they wouldn’t size the clothing though

My favorite second hand store in the area. I got some 90’s Star Wars figurines in mint condition for a great bargain. The employees are volunteers so they’re really nice and helpful.

Not a typical ghetto thrift store, it’s very clean and well kept by the staff. The same quality as going to Goodwill without the expensive second-​hand pricing. Very good customer service and it’s nice that they have a fitting room. Most thrift stores sell as is without letting you try the clothing on. They get a Ton of brand new stuff (not secondhand) all of the time so it’s a great place to check out often. Even brand new items can qualify for their tag specials they have listed as you walk in. Lovely place, check it out!

This place has it all. The store is clean well supplied and great customer service. I like the fact that it is a stand alone store helping 1 organization meaning there is only one store not like Salvation Army or community thrift store which are grinders. I picked up to really great quality end tables and a brand new in box futon for $ 130.00 score for me! I will definitely be back to shop. They have tons of nice clothing.

Very nice medium size thrift store! Employees are very kind, and I find quite a few things there! ²⁄₃ of the store is clothing, and the rest is furniture/​shoes/​etc. I love stopping by here for a quick shopping trip! also, very affordable prices!
Parking is in the back of the store, and there is also a back entrance.

I woke up to the crisis Los Angeles has when I took a wrong turn downtown and ended up walking through Skid Row. This is a tragedy, but we can help. Union Rescue Mission has people on the street to help people get out of the street.
Out in Covina is the Union Rescue Mission Thrift Store. Quite impressed. First notice– really clean floors and color coded discount tags much like Goodwill. Prices much like Goodwill too.
Not a really large electronics section, but a huge selection of clothes– I’d say about 70% women, 30% men’s. Lots of open, (and when I got there mid-​afternoon, empty) fitting rooms.
LPs– you can pretty much tell that URM is a Christian organization– nearly all are Southern Gospel records, along with a few Maraschino Strings. All two dollars.
Furniture– saw a really nice pair of midcentury chairs very nicely made. Clean lines, but needed reupholstering. I think the girl said $ 20, but I really didn’t need them, so I left them. The next week they were gone. Hope someone’s enjoying them!
Certainly would come back again. If only they were closer to downtown!

If you are a thrift store shopper or just a shopper in general, RUN don’t walk to this store. Great selection (some new, some used, all categorized by size and color!) Remarkable prices, and friendly and helpful staff! On top of that it benefits a great cause! I have shopped here at least 3 times now and each time has been a terrific experience! They needed a dressing room and now they’ve added one!

Pretty clean and organized store, it’s close to the Salvation Army thrift store. There’s fitting rooms and restrooms But the day I went, it smelled like some wire was burning. There were some other ladies who also smelled the burnt wire and told the staff, I don’t know if they did anything though a girl did check it out.
The clothing was in better quality and organized by style. Lots of dining tables for sale, not alot of books to browse though.

This is a humongous well supplied thrift store with a diversity of items. The proceeds benefit the Union Rescue Mission, helping in the fight against homelessness, joblessness, and addiction.

Best thrift store ever, and I have been thrift shopping for 32 yrs .So good it almost makes me want to move to Covina so I can be there everyday!

This is a very well organized and clean thrift store. They have a little bit of everything, prices are a little high though. Staff is kind and helpful. If you are seeking furniture or appliances you might be disappointed.

The items are top notch and I was able to buy quality stuff at great great prices.

One of the best thrift stores in the area. You can tell the quality of their stuff is much nicer. Better yet, it supports the work of Union Rescue Mission which is a really great organization.
