Staybridge Suites Covington

Great place to stay for a wedding! I stayed here several days earlier this month while I was getting married. The rooms are gigantic and have full kitchenettes in them! The staff was amazing, very professional and accommodating. They upgraded my room to their largest suite, which really helped because I had my entire wedding party, family, and out of town friends there the day before my wedding to help me make bouquets and boutonnieres. I look forward to staying here again next time I’m back in town visiting family.

I’ve stayed here twice and haven’t been disappointed. The staff is very friendly, the beds are comfortable and the food is excellent.

I never heard of Staybridge before and found them searching the internet on my phone while hurtling through Louisianna. I was looking for something cheap and safe for me and my three kids. This was initially more than I wanted to spend for a quick night’s stay, but was very pleased with the outcome.
Meghan (sp?) at the desk was very courteous and friendly during check in. The hotel was clean everywhere I went. When I walked by the laundry, it was clean and I saw a guy using the machines. The fitness room smelled clean and had sufficient equipment for me to burn some calories. I didn’t use the pool, but the families in it seemed to be having a good time.
They had an evening social where I had a great salad with tender and tasty chunks of chicken and other salad add-​ons, hot (temp) wings, fresh cookies and a nice cold beer. My discerning food-​critic-​children were very satisfied with the quality of the food.
The room was nicely furnished. I wish there were sheets and a blanket for the pullout sofa (there were extra pillows) and I’m sure they would have provided had we called, but it was very late when we found this out and just didn’t want to wait. The kitchen supplies were sufficient for our overnight stay. The beds were comfortable. Like most hotels, the office-​desk chair was malfunctioning as it sank to the lowest height immediately each time.

I have been at the hotel now for five days. Not ONE day has housekeeping come into our room to clean or to give us new towels. Each time I have had to go to the front desk and ask for towels. No one came in to restock anything, no dishwasher soap, no shampoo, nothing at all. Ever. Not once in the past five days.
In addition, I chose this hotel for a kind of long stay because it said they had a laundry room. Today when needing to wash clothes, I found that both washers are out of order. I went to the front desk and asked them if there were any washing machines that worked. The man at the desk asked me, «What do you want to wash?» (I thought it was strange for him to ask that.) I told him I needed to wash my husband’s clothes and he turned to lady who was working with him at the front desk and she said, «The new washers aren’t coming in until next week.» (That does me no good as I am checking out in two days.) Neither of them apologized or said they were sorry that none of the washers in the laundry room worked. Neither of them offered any type of solution to the problem. (I know that the hotel has it’s own washing machines that they use for the bedding.) I was very disappointed in the response because having a laundry room available is one reason I chose to pay more for the «suite» type of hotel rather than a normal hotel room.
The breakfast hours say that they close at 9:30 am. When my mother went to breakfast a few minutes before 9am, she was told by the lady who was working the breakfast area that they were closing in a few minutes, and that was why there was little or nothing being offered to eat.
When I checked into this hotel, they asked if I wanted to be a member of their rewards club. I agreed, hoping that I would be staying here again since the location is so good. That is really a moot point now. I most definitely will not be staying here again. Five days and no housekeeping or new towels… that is ridiculous. Advertise amenities like a laundry room and then not have it and not being «solution oriented» or apologetic when I told them they were both out of order… not good customer service at all.
Paying over $ 200 a night for a two bedroom suite, I would have expected MUCH BETTER service.

When our house didn’t close on time and we found ourselves «homeless» for a week, the employees of this hotel made us feel at home and like we were family. I cannot say enough positive things about this hotel. Our puppies were welcome also, which was a huge relief. The employees were so accommodating with everything from helping us with faxing documents to the underwriter, as well as making sure they made chocolate chip cookies for my son that weren’t on the same plate as the peanut butter ones since he is allergic to peanuts — they made a special batch just for him! Everyone went out of their way to make us feel welcome and at home. If you find yourself in need of an extended stay, please consider staying at the Staybridge Inn & Suites if you’re in Covington!

We’ve stayed here three times so far and will continue to do so when we’re visiting the area. The hotel itself is easy to get to and has adequate parking, although the spaces are kind of small. The lobby/​dining area is really nice and features a double sided fireplace and a nice seating area with chairs and sofas. The dining area is in the rear of that space and has plenty of seating and large windows.
We always get a queen kitchen suite and love it! It has a cook top, microwave, sink, dishwasher, apartment size fridge and all the necessities you need to prepare food. There is a Walmart and other grocery shipping within a few blocks for food supplies. The rooms are a nice size, nicely decorated and quite comfy. It really is a studio apartment set up and I love that. Other amenities the hotel has are, a gym, laundry, computer room, book borrowing, WiFi, satellite TV, a nice pool and BBQ patio, small snack store and elevators.
We skip the breakfast. This is the star they lost. It doesn’t start until 7:30 (problematic for early working folks), the dining staff are surly, they always scorch the eggs, the meat is dry, the fruit is canned and the coffee is terrible. I actually dinged them the star more for the 2 rude staff members. Not a good start to my day at all.
The front desk staff and housekeepers more than make up up for the hospitality aspect of this property. They are helpful, sweet, customer service forward and know the area really well.

Stayed here for one night while passing through town. We were a group of 3 adults and 2 large dogs. The hotel in general was newer, modern, clean and offered lots of great amenities. The dogs loved the green space available outside. The 1^st floor suite we were give was wonderful and very specious. It was located on the corner of the hotel in a quiet area with very little foot traffic. The room had tall ceilings and felt very open. The kitchenette had all the basic necessities; stove, sink, fridge, coffee maker, microwave, dishes & cutlery. There was one TV in the living room and another TV in the separate bedroom which allowed us to spread out and relax. The beds were very comfortable and there was no shortage of pillows or blankets. The free breakfast the following morning was delicious and had a wide variety of options. Overall this was a great hotel and I would definitely stay at a Staybridge again.

Stayed here for almost three weeks while I was on an extended work detail in Louisiana. The rooms were very clean and smelled great. The breakfast was ok, could’ve had a better selection imho. They serve food tue-​thurs nights for the managers reception. The staff was friendly and helpful. I’d definitely stay here again on any future visits. If I had a complaint, it’d be that the parking is a bit cramped if you’re driving a full size pickup truck or large suv.

Long Story short… I hate hotels but after my Mardi Gras group and I was ALMOST SWINDLED OUT of nearly $ 1500 on

sister site) we had no choice to stay here for Mardi Gras because EVERYTHING ELSE WAS GONE like a fart in the wind! I say NEARLY because I got our money back. That is another story for another time! D*MN

This place is located on the other side of the Mississippi river. It is really NOT that far from NOLA and is out of the city so you ACTUALLY get more peace and the price is cheaper cause your OUTSIDE the city!
Now I HATE HOTELS for some of the reasons listed, but not solely just those reasons… tight, expensive, something is ALWAYS NOT working properly, housekeeping wakeing you up when your trying to take a nap REGARDLESS of the fact you have the «Do Not Disturbed» on the door, people laughing and talking and screaming up and down the halls all night when you are trying to sleep, ice machine dropping ice all night long, elevator dinging all night long, etc… I’m sure your have caught my drift and feel my pain! Thus I 98% of the time DO NOT DO HOTELS!
But this place was pretty AWESOME if I must say so myself! The staff was GREAT, HELPFUL and gave us a printout of all the parades and times and location when we checked in. our room was always neat and NO ONE went in it while we were gone to clean up or give us fresh towels since we had the sign on the door! Housekeeping was SUPER DUPER professional and KIND no matter how many towels, blankets, soaps, lotion I asked for. There was a nice BUFFET breakfast which I usually frown upon because the word BUFFET usually is synonymous with SUCKY FOOD, but this food was rather YUMMY! And there was a variety to select from so if you were a vegetarian they had something for you. If you are vegan they still had choices but not as many!
Our room was NOT as CRAMPED as I thought it would be. There was some room to move around and we had a little seating area and kitchenette which was well appointed. My friend brought some DVD’s and we got to watch them in the movie room downstairs on the big screen. There was also a nice little seating area and a daily newspaper every morning or you could watch the news in the lounge area. Did I mention the STAFF was AWESOME! SMILES GALORE, FRIENDLY, HELPFUL, etc! It was great!
No matter how inebriated I was walking in near the butt crack of dawn after screaming and dancing and whooping it up in NOLA there was a front desk person to greet me with a smile. At least they looked like they were smiling as I stumbled in.
Now if you DO NOT plan to rent a car I would suggest NOT staying here! A taxi would cost WAAAYYY TOOO MUCH to come and go into the city! But there are plenty of eating places and shops around here in Mandeville or Slidell that will keep you busy when you’re not in NOLA!
Also it is WAAAYYY EASIER to take the bridge from Sidell to here then to use the bridge to Covington! I think it shaves off about 15 to 20 mins. And don’t EVEN THINK ABOUT SPEEDING over the bridge because the cops like to hide and have NO PROBLEM pulling you over and giving you a ticket! And they use sensors so they see you even when they are NOT there!
This hotel also has some «Social» things they plan for guest and will have a printed list of thing to do in your room on the frig. If you miss it just go downstairs and there is a white board with more info on it. They also have the typical tourist flyer’s and brochures of things to do and see to the right as you walk in the sliding doors!
There is a nice pool and mini golf area (tiny) and a BBQ and seating outside. It is NOT too big but at least you won’t be CRAMPED like a SARDINE in your room and can get out and stretch your legs!
Overall I would TOTALLY stay here again. Maybe not so far out but if I had to it would NOT be the end of the world! It was actually NICE to be out of the city and BEST of all I DIDN’T have to stay with family who live in NOLA and who probably would have drove me cray-​cray and I’d be wearing an orange jumpsuit and chains for anklets!

I travel a lot for my job and have stayed in more hotels than I can count. I always like staying at a Staybridge when I get a chance. This particular location was very clean and well appointed. It wasn’t the most updated one that I’ve stayed at, but that wasn’t a big deal for only one night. The staff was friendly. Breakfast in the morning was hot and tasty, so you can’t ask for much more. I would definitely return.

RUN AWAY! Dirty, smelly, tired rooms that are worn down!

As much as I travel, I always look forward to the times when I can stay at a Staybridge. Their hotels are always clean and it’s a bonus to have a kitchen.

This hotel is horrible. Requested non-​smoking room (what crazy hotels still have smoking rooms? Very antiquated!) but was given a smoking. Once in room, the bathroom floor was sticky and filmy, weird black dried liquid on the back of the bathroom door. The underside of the comforter was COVERED in long brown hairs. Went to «continental breakfast» at 9:30 and the attendant was packing up the food even though the breakfast ends at 10:30. There was smashed food all over the floor. No fruit. Milk machine was empty and attendant refused to refill it. Cereal dispenser broken and wouldn’t dispense anything. Eggs were very watery. Moved to a non-​smoking room on the second day. Bathroom floor still filmy. Ants covering the air conditioner and window and wall. When I discount for the room was requested, only offered $ 13 a night. What a joke and slap in the face. Kids running all over the place. Hotel staff refused to calm the, down. Do not stay here.

Very big rooms with separate bedrooms… Kitchens with all amenities. The cleaning is by request on weekends which is a little goofy. The staff is very helpful but no restaurant just a closet with snacks and microwavable stuff. I was in convention on business. I would have liked room service and some amenities. They will give you a a book with restaurants that deliver. The TV system is old school no pay per view movies. They have internet and they treat you very well and they do try. The room is great for the price … If you want a full service hotel this is not the place. But if you want a big room with a separate living room and a clear room with a kitchen this is a great place to spend a few days!!!

This Staybridge opened about 2 yrs ago and it is great.
Clean and modern rooms, a clean pool with a small waterfall, a mini-​golf area for the kids to enjoy, comfy beds, a theatre room, and a wonderful continental breakfast buffet with lots of breakfast faves.
To me this is the best hotel in St Tammany Parish! I LOVE THIS STAYBRIDGE!

I stayed at this hotel with my husband & my 10 month old. It was for one night on our way home from vacation. This was the best hotel experience I have had in a very long time. I would recommend to anyone. The room was a great size. We had plenty of room for a pack in play. The free breakfast buffet was perfect in the morning. They had a fireplace & children’s books available. The pool area was beautiful & resort like. A must stay!
