We have had to use them a couple times. Each time, the drivers were nice, quick and made the situation less stressful. Our encounters with everyone who works there have been positive.

VERY CAREFUL WITH THIS COMPANY! They sent a tow truck to tow a broken car in my driveway. The driver of the tow truck didn’t secure the truck properly and if run down my driveway breaking trees and damaging the pavement and side of my driveway. CLEAR NEGLIGENCE. They had to send another tow truck to rescue the first tow truck. THEY LEFT MY DRIVEWAY AND TREES DAMAGED. I got a professional company to prepare an estimate to repair the area and mountain towing says that it is too expensive and that they will not pay for it. Two months into it, the owner does not get on the phone and when we asked the lady who picks up the phone about alternatives, she said while laughing that the ONLY OTHER OPTION THAT WE HAVE IS TO SUE THEM. It might be that this company doesn’t carry liability insurance to cover for this clear negligence, because which asked for such information and she that she did not have insurance information handy… again two months after the accident happened.
Let’s see what AAA has to say about having this negligent company associated with their brand. Will also have to rely on the Better Business Bureau BBB for help. Search the web for many other people affected and ripoff by the negligent behavior of their drivers and thereof its owner Michael Cronshey. People and companies like this are who give the towing industry such a bad reputation. WATCH OUT AND DON“T USE THEM IF YOU DON“T WANT TO END UP WORSE THAN YOU STARTED

My family had to abandon our truck on the 330 during a crazy storm the other night because it slid into a ditch on the side of the road. The next day the road was closed according to CHP so we went up to get the truck the following morning first thing. We found out it had been towed by Mountain Auto Service and Towing. When we called the company the owner answered the phone and was completely rude and unhelpful. We had sat in 3 hours of traffic to get there and the owner would not give us our truck back because he said they were closed. He told us to come back at 8 am the next morning. So we came back at 8:30 am on Friday morning after sitting in an hour of traffic and the gate was locked. We called them and the owner was completely rude again and said the lady wasn’t in the office yet and we just needed to sit and be patient. We have 3 kids and jobs that we need to tend to and to have our car towed is already an inconvenience but then to have to deal with an extremely rude inconsiderate man who we are paying to get our truck from is ridiculous. I would never recommend anyone to come and get their car repaired here nor for any company to use this place as a tow service.

Came and picked up a severely disabled car on my property. Driver was courteous, safe, and good at his job.

Excellent service, friendly staff, prompt and helpful. Belt and water pump crashed on the way to Big Bear, ahead of what turned out to be a snowy weekend. We called our insurance road assistance and they put us in touch with them. With little explanation, the lady on the phone knew exactly where we were and estimated time of arrival 40 minutes. Andrew, (I hope I remembered his name correctly), the tow truck driver came in 30 minutes. He was beyond nice and helpful. Took the car to a repair shop in Big Bear and took us back to our hotel. The only reason I am giving 4 stars is because I felt our overage price (miles over the insurance coverage) was a bit high, although this was the first time we had to have our car towed, so I may be wrong. At any rate, they promptly saved the day and I highly recommend them!

Don’t use them unless there is no other option! Untrustworthy, dishonest, deceptive, unsafe and unethical.

Very nice folks to deal with. Called in to AAA for road service and they passed me over to Mountain Auto who promptly showed up and installed a new battery. Brian is an excellent tech and knows his stuff. Sold me a beefy battery good for our cold winters.

The Blizzard story from Unilocaler Joleen Q was about my car. I completely agree and then some. Dale, Erin and Buddy were unbelieveably friendly and kind. This was one of those weekends that take years off of your life, but Mountain Auto Services went out of their way to take away some of the worries. I HIGHLY recommend MAS.

Blizzard weekend 2 weeks ago in Big Bear and my friend’s snow chains cut his breakline. Break fluid was leaking and needless to say, his car was stuck at a gas station. The owner’s daughter Erin came driving out to look for us Monday (since we drove back since they weren’t towing cars off the moutain that weekend) to pick up the keys to have it towed the next day.
In the process, my car got a flat tire and we had Dale come help us with the flat. These were long, exhausting hours for them (not to mention AAA had so many people in line for service) and they sincerely showed they cared in a scary, stressful time for us. They are a lifesaver and I definitely would recommend them!
