Club Fitness

Most of the treadmills have something broken… if not minor to major repairs needed. All equipment is old and worn. Space is dark and damp, and not a clean smell. This club location needs a major overhaul. It’s convenient for me sometimes but a further drive to other newer locations worth the gas and better for ur health. Need I say MOLD

I’ve been a member for 1 – 2 yrs. This gym is longing for new management. Why, you ask? The greeters/​front desk attendants immature and unprofessional (Managers sitting to the left, once you enter). The front desk attendants play a lot and hold conversations when they should be more attentive to the front desk when people arrive. I’ve stood there waiting for them to finish playing before they acknowledged I was standing at the desk. Management should be aware because they sit in clear view of the front.
The gym is too dark and unwelcoming.
There are cosmetic updating/​repairs that need to be done (management should be more attentive regarding interior structures). For instance, wall paper on the wall (behind the front desk) needs to be changed. It’s peeling (it’s been in this state for 1 yr at least). Behind the treadmills, there is constantly water leaking from behind the wall. Not sure why it hasn’t been addressed (this has been going on for at least 6 months).
The treadmill machines breakdown often and are not fixed until someone reports the issue to the attendants.
The elliptical machines are old: keys are missing coverings, can’t control volume on some machines, tv networks share multiple channels, can’t customize workout settings on some machines.
This gym needs a total makeover starting at the top with management. Then, renovating the entire gym.
The only reason I go to this location is strictly for convenience.
The only consistency I’ve noticed at this location is increase of membership.

At first Club Fitness was better, but now it’s the worst, terrible, and awfully disgraceful excuse of a fitness center!
That it is my displeasure to set foot in that trash heap with broken down cardio machines, even one of the touch screen treadmill with no incline hydraulics.
I can’t believe I left Gold’s Gym for this.

I recently joined this gym mainly for the classes. So far, I’m enjoying them. The instructors are really great and so is the atmosphere. The only thing that throws me off with the classes is that you can’t get a ticket until 15 minutes prior to start time.
I understand the concept, but it kinda sucks when you show up a little early and have to wait around for the staff to set out the tickets. And sometimes they forget to put them out!
During my very first visit, I approached the front desk about 20 minutes early and the guy at the counter practically bit my head off because it was not time to pass out tickets yet. Rude!
Other than the classes, the gym has lots of fitness equipment. Lots of machines and an area with weights. These areas are usually pretty packed.
Overall I think that the gym is good. The restrooms are kinda gross though and some of the lockers in the women’s locker room are broken, which was an annoyance at first but you get used to it. Hopefully this is something that they plan to fix in the future.
This is the first gym that I’ve ever joined so I don’t have much to compare it too. Although it would be nicer if they had a track or a pool area.

As a trainer for DFM, we were told to promote Unilocal!,and I did. However, I was curious at the reviews Club Fitness got so I browsed. There reviews weren’t that good at all. I remember reading one that stated: «you do everything they require to cancel and they continue to charge your account, they won’t give you a refund of the money they’ve been deducting AFTER you’ve cancelled.»
No longer working for DFM, I was a member, it was cheap. However, I’ve learned on my own past training mistakes so I chose to cancel. I got the sheet of paper that said, «write a letter to our headquarters» (completed). Put down an email address or mailing address to have confirmation letter sent (completed). I’m still getting letter in the mail stating my payment has failed to go through. What hasn’t happened? I haven’t got a confirmation letter in the mail, confirming my cancellation. You call, well you’ll be walked around circles with the automated crap, ending never speaking to anyone. My advice change to an expired card or just give a phony number. Horrible ethics and I’ll be contacting BBB, so others won’t suffer.

Club Fitness is decent. I wish there was a pool but the classes are good and variety of equipment is good. There’s a lot of TVs in the cardio section which is nice. There’s also separate room for spinning class. There’s also babysitting services which is nice for parents looking to get their workout on. I wish that this location was open 24 hours.

Cheap cheap fun fun… for some. Adequate number of various equipment, most of which is working properly. Very crowded after 5 p.m. People drop weights on the floor and this creates one of the most annoying sounds in the world, that only Jim Carrey could reproduce. In staff’s defense — they do prohibit this practice.
Lots of classes throughout the day for yoga, dancing, cycling, zumba, etc.
Lots of mirrors for self aggrandizement.
Most of the men and women at the gym are working toward the same goal, The perfect female body :)

Gross as ever!
The reusable towels left out to wipe machines are absolutely disgusting. They are soaking wet from being used over & over & over all F’ing day and staff doesn’t even think to replace them.
I don’t want to touch this towel with my hands let alone wipe a sweaty machine down with it and place it BACK ON THE BOTTLE LIKE NEW AGAIN!
Ladies room is overly disgusting. There weren’t even towels to dry my damp hands after using the facilities. Debris is everywhere on the floor, nasty counter & overflowing garbage.
I can’t believe the owner of this location. Who ever is in charge (no one is ever available on-​site to be held responsible) should be ashamed.
Worst kept location in the region.
Personally I hate it. Think I’ll un-​join altogether.

Manager is rude. Corporate is difficult to work with. Horrible customer service. Don’t fall for their «no-​contract» deals or any other deals they post. Find a different gym.

Canceling requires 30 day WRITTEN notice.

If you’re in need of a gym this Club Fitness works in a pinch, but it’s never my first option. It’s always super crowded, and there’s only one squat rack.

Always cramped, poor service, equipment is pathetic. Hours are atrocious. Not worth paying anything for much less what they charge. Go get your money’s worth somewhere else. Anywhere else.

In my entire life, this is the most disgusting, douche bag ridden gym I have ever seen. The staff sucks and doesn’t clean a thing or smile. There is mold throughout the showers and the steam room is so dirty, herpes wouldn’t go in there. I will say, I think the trainers are nice, how knowledgeable, I don’t know. Before I set foot in there to exercise, I will join the military. I think I lost sight in my left eye from all the glittery UFC shirts, spray tans and dudes wearing fake diamond earrings. Hey, it’s 9 bucks a month, you get what you pay for.

I have been at club fitness member for a few years now. The club is clean but some equipment is torn and it takes a long time for them to fix it.
Since they started offering $ 10 per month membership the clientele has deteriorated dramatically. If you work out in the evenings you should be extra careful because it has come to my knowledge that cars have been broken into and valuables have been stolen.
In the evenings this place is jam packed. So if you plan on working out in the evenings leave your belongings at home or lock it in the trunk.
To best time to work out hair is between the hours of 11 AM and 3 PM after that it gets crowded especially during 4:30 PM and 7 PM.
The staff is friendly, and are very helpful. There should be some sort of a rule in the locker rooms as some men do not like to cover up and it is disgusting.
It seems like they are there for other reasons then working out.
There are not a lot of «meat-​heads» here it is a fairly diverse group of people.
I work out here because it is very close to my residence I would much rather pay $ 40-​$ 50 per month and have a better clientele than this.

Equipment is badly maintained and a lot of them are frequently out of order. Cancelation policy is suspect. It’s cheap at least

I have broken my review law of only reviewing restaurants to WARN people of this club fitness… If anyone has ever heard of BLAST fitness this is the same thing all over again!
My gym was closed Saturday due to it being a Jewish holiday so A friend of mine and I decided we would go check out another gym just so we could get a workout in for the day… My oh my what a not wonderful day… We walk inside to see a employe behind the desk on his phone not paying attention to the fact we walked inside. It takes us having to pretty much knock on the counter for him to notice us… We filled out some paperwork and off we went to see with this gym had in store…
To start off we decided to do some cardio. They have a big selection of cardio machines and I doubt there is ever a time where they are all being used. So hey A+ on selection of cardio but going to have to lower that grade to a F– for the fact they are junky. We took side by side machines and started off but my displays where not on. The machine would run and the buttons would work but the displays on speed and time where not lit up. It’s also so dark In the cardio area that you cannot figure out where the buttons are… So I switched over to another machine but this ones belt was loose so it continued to make a loud whining noise while using it… My friends did the same but after 5 mins or so and turning up our volume we drowned it out.
After that it was to the weights… Oh man how I love to lift… The sound of the metal, the satisfaction of finishing that last rep and pushing tru the pain! It’s fantastic! But no this place would never inspire me to lift only to be afraid of getting injured! The bench press we used was uneven as if one side of the bench had no padding but the other side did. There also where no plates on the machine as if Cookie Monster came in and mistaken them for snacks! They looked like they had been chewed on also! Bits of rubber missing off them it was just crappy.
Also there is not a big selection of CLEAN machines! These look like they came out of a old Ballys like the one that was turned I to a BLAST! White and chipped with that fussy dusty oil that’s sitting waiting for you to change the weight amount so you have to go wash your hands to get it off…
This brings me to the next thing the bath rooms! Oh man they are falling apart! Broken lockers, busted locks, trashy floors, rusty showers, pealing wall paper, dusty vents, water stained drop ceiling, and exposed ceiling vents in the showers??? Oh and the sauna and steam rooms look like the have NEVER BEEN CLEANED! I will be attaching photos of these such things! Also the drinking fountains are only located inside the bathrooms?! And the fountains are busted! Buttons missing and all! They got it here folks!
When leaving we brought these things up to the woman who took new applicants her words «we know and we just hired and new full time cleaner who has 15 years in cleaning gyms» that is great! But the things I said are not cleaning crew jobs! This is things that maintenance needs to fix! You can’t clean broken lockers or rusty showers! You need to repair that! Now yes clean the crap out of those bathrooms and get some bleach in the sauna and steam room!
This gym is tiny, old, dark, and inadequate with old machines and falling apart restrooms. Really if there was a zombie movie that took place in a gym it would be here… Do not recommend… I know the low cost is the draw in point but this really goes to show you get what you pay for… But I will say that the best most up to date and up kept gym for the same monthly price is Xist fitness I know this because I used to be a member and I loved it! I am now at the JCC paying 45 $ a month seems steep but when you see what you get it’s worth spending more. So if you really take your fitness and health seriously think of moving finances around to spend alittle more on a better gym.

This gym is a scam. They made me sign 19 $ a month but the gym was so crowded that I wanted to cancel my membership. I was in there only twice. That’s when I got to know about this.
They charge 60 $ cancellation and some other fees and stuff.
Worst part it needs to be done online so we can’t even talk to anyone. Their call lines don’t work.
I am still waiting for them to reply to my email. If they don’t refund me then I am so screwed!
The gym looks good only on the outside. It’s packed with people. U need to wait for every equipment and it’s very awkward and inconvenient.
Don’t get caught in their stupid offers. They will always rob you.

A good gym, but doesn’t compare with Golds.
If you want cardio training, Club Fitness is a great deal, but for lifting weights, therein lies the problem.
There are not enough weight lifting machines and plates for as busy as it is.
The other issue, is the caliber of people that go to this gym.
The majority of people that went to my old Gold’s gym were hygienic. (At least this particular Club Fitness) Has an over abundance of members with serious body odor problems. I know you’re at a gym, and working out, but please make an effort to put on deodorant and shower at least within the last 24 hours before showing up!

Club Fitness is one of the more affordable gyms in St. Louis. I think they have a special that pays people to workout here now.
This location is my favorite. It’s the biggest one I’ve been to, has the most equipment, and has a sauna and steam room. They have also remodeled quite a bit recently.
The scenery here is pretty good too if you know what I mean. Granted, I’m talking about looking at myself in the mirror but hey… I look good in yoga pants.
Biggest complaint: They’ve handed out so many cheap memberships that this place is annoyingly crowded between 4:00 and 7:00. A skull-​crusher isn’t supposed to be a literal work out maneuver. However, if you’re not careful you may take a dumbbell to the noggin.
Also, if a piece of workout machinery is broken, it seems like it will remain broken for a month.
Also, I’m jacked. That’s obvious. As such, I require heavier weights. The heaviest dumbbell this location offers is about 110. I’m looking for something a little bit bigger than that. Like stick a Honda Accord on each end of a light pole and let me bench that.

I am NEVER in this neck of the woods nor do I ever go to this Club Fitness. I only came here because they offered a class that I wanted to take at a convenient time for me.
At first glance the gym looks very nice and clean and higher end Club Fitness (is there such a thing???) but as I was making my way towards the back I could not believe how cramped this gym was.
I found myself dodging dumbbells and full force elbows in the walk way area. The layout of this gym is not very good. Yes it has nice machines and things look newer and nicer but a good gym has space for elbow room and personal space. I felt like I was invading other people’s workouts unintentionally.
Besides the space, the gym is neat and nice if those are things you are looking for in a gym.
