Mulqueeny Eye Centers

Dr. Biondo is fantastic. The staff is organized, friendly and efficient. Their optic center is top of the line and I highly recommend this practice to all in need of premium eye care!

I needed to find an eye doctor in St. Louis, and I live in the apartments above/​attached to Mulqueeny Eye Care! I read the positive reviews on Unilocal and was sold (thanks y’all). Setting up my appointment was easy/​simple, and I was able to get in about a week out.
I was seen promptly at my scheduled appointment. I saw Dr. Biondo who was really friendly. I basically only needed the checkup to get a new prescription for contacts lenses. Dr. Biondo told me about the new version of the Daily lenses I’ve been wearing for the last ~2 years. Good to know! I did not end up buying lenses or frames that day (wanted to shop around), but I now feel that I will go back for these purchases.
So glad to have found an eye doctor I like that is located so nearby :)

My mother, my sister, and I have been patients of Dr. Mulqueeny for about seven years. He offers state-​of-​the-​art eye care including the Optomap. This is an elective scan that photographs the back of your eye (retina). Dr. Mulqueeny is able to track any changes that may occur.
Dr. Mulqueeny is always congenial. He not only cares about the overall health of your vision but also takes a vested interested in his patients. He is certainly not a doctor you will dread visiting.
The eye center also contains its own frame boutique. This is extremely convenient! The optical center homes several designer frames for men and women including Fendi, Michael Kors, and Dior. With Josh’s attention to detail, everyone will find the frame to compliment their face and style. If you do not see a particular style, Josh is more than willing to page through catalogs to find what you would like.
I chose a stylish pair of Ted Baker black frames. Josh called and updated me on the ETA for my glasses since my lenses required more attention. And how lovely is Josh… He even called to wish me a happy birthday!
I can only write lovely things about Dr. Mulqueeny and his staff. So, the next time you need to read the little letters, make certain you read them at Mulqueeny Eye Centers.

Eye doctors are a dime a dozen, nowadays you can get your vision checked at Walmart while you are picking up groceries or you can visit a swank eye exam office. Either way the point is you have choices. I decided to break up with my current eye care professional and check out Dr. Mulqueeny. This gorgeous location on Ballas in Creve Coeur is very easy to get to and I promise you won’t be disappointed!
I parked in the garage so my walk was short and on a rainy day this would be handy! Upon walking in I was greeted by the employee at the desk. I looked around and thought, where are all of the glasses? I completed the required paperwork, and opted for an Optomap for an extra $ 20 with my exam. The Optomap is somewhat exclusive, not all places offer this. Basically it’s a photo of the eye and allows the tech and the doctor to ensure you have a healthy eye, looking at veins and the retinas. Dr. Mulqueeny told me I have a healthy set of retinas! YEAH! And then he told me I could Facebook that! hahah, that was afer I told him if I had a
profile I’d let my future dates know. hahah!
Tina called me back to begin my exam, she walked me to my first stop of the exam a desk with this machine that you look into and she focuses in and out. During the entire exam Tina was professional and kind and every device she used she ensured she cleaned it with an alcohol pad first. From there we went to the exam room; the standard series of tests including read this line, that line, cover your eye and open your eye. She made small talk, answered all of my questions and she asked if I was comfortable when the machine was pressed against my face. She then added a few drops to each of my eyes to numb them and she took the pressure of my eye, which was just right! She walked me through the process as she pointed this device at my eye and came closer. You don’t feel a thing! From there we proceeded to the Optomap test. The area outside of the first exam room had several large comfy recliners, a flat screen so you can catch up on your daily dose of ESPN or Food Network. After the optomap test we walked down a hallway, getting further away from where I came in. AHHHH ha! Behold the power of sight, we walked into another area, looked a lot like a lobby. And there sat Josh, The Wizard of the glasses! The window laden room was bright and had cases of stylish frames. Tina and I rounded the corner and I entered my second exam room, awaiting the much anticipated Dr. Mulqueeny.
I looked around and noticed Doc Mulqueeny’s exam room was high tech! Everything was computerized and digitized. My optomap scans were loaded on the giant PC flat screen. I must say I thought it was all pretty cool! BTW, the paint was fabulous. I loved the accent wall a warm milk chocolate color set by a taupe. .Knock knock and enters Dr. Sean Mulqueeny! Hello Mr. GQ!!! He was so stylish with his dark grey suit and pin stripes, stylish glasses (I would not have expected any less), he was so friendly he just makes you smile. His inflection and tone was very upbeat and he really took care in discussing my eyes, my script, etc. I have not had an eye doctor as friendly and genuine like him in quite some time. He really knows his stuff (I know you are probably thinking, duh! He’s a doc!). But he was glowing while discussing my optomap scans and just to be safe he even rechecked my prescription that Tina got from her exam. That’s b/​c it appeared my vision was different from my current script. He moved the binocular looking thing to my face and then the remote took control. Back and forth with, is one better or two, is three better or four? He wrapped up the exam and he thanked me repeatedly for by business, which is also a nice compliment to hear when you can pick any provider. It’s like Dr. Mulqueeny really cares about his patients and is truly appreciative to have you there. He used my name throughout the entire exam, which makes it a more personable experience. We exited the room and there he introduced me to Josh. Dr. Mulqueeny filled Josh in on what I would need and then he shook my hand, thanked me again and said I hope to see you again soon. No worries, I will be back for my next exam!
Now, Josh really had his work cut out for him. I am such a pain in the a$$ with picking out anything; let alone glasses that are an accessory for my face. However, Josh was really helpful and actually gave me real feedback. I tried on several different types from Guess to Versace and Josh and I decided the Kate Spade frames were going to give me the lightweight feel coupled with the professional look. Best of all my purchase was easy on the pocket and in SEVEN days I’ll be picking up my new chic eye wear!
